The useless rooms, aside from providing some small laughs from you continuing the joke, do a good job showing off just how big the setting is. Bit tedious, but it doesn't lessen the game for me. I love the CG of Keith so much. It just screams, "This is why I don't want kids." It's just perfect to me. As for Pop and Murdock, I'm pretty sure they're only alive in Will's head. There may be something supernatural going on, but I think those are just aspects of Will he's projecting onto his pet and a toy. Pop is the desire to be social, trying to be friendly. Murdock is mischief, a child's way of acting out. I'm kind of wondering if Ed isn't imaginary too.
I agree with the thing about the useless rooms! I've seen some comments complaining about them, but after a while you get the gist that you aren't supposed to go into them unless there's a visual or audio cue

It fits her character well. The recording quality is not perfect, but if anyone listened closely enough you could tell they put some effort and emotion into their performances. i like how former protagonists don't just stick around, they're actually vaguely competent. like in the last game, david literally jumped through fire and sophie learned how to cast sleep on wolves. and now sophie's batman.

as much as i love Keith, i hate his voice. it's so unenthusiastic. even though he's a serious detective, when he's supposed to be yelling, his voice shows no emotion or clarity. it really drives me nuts. everyone else's voice sounds really nice (Ed is my favorite character by far right now in this game)
Keith is supposed to be this character who is very inexpressive when it comes to his personality. He's this big, manly cop who withholds his emotions and cares about keeping a calm demeanor rather than overreacting to gruesome situations. I mean, he probably had become numb after witnessing some traumatic, not to mention stressful, events in his life. Again, he's a cop. He's probably not going to have an exaggerated burst of anger or fear anytime soon (or at least not often. Remember one of the bad ends in the Boogie man that he actually teared up and had actual anguish in his voice). I thought most people would've gotten that by now, but most are too busy complaining about the voice acting to actually enjoy the game or understand the character. I understand that there is room for improvement in anything, but I for one don't mind the voice acting at all. These voice actors deserve a little respect, right? On that note, I like Keith's voice. I think it suits the character for what he's supposed to be: a monotone, all-business, takes-no-back-talk kind of cop. Of course, that's just my viewpoint on this whole "bad" voice-acting fiasco.

The headless doll is a reference to "One man hide an seek" which is a common popular paranormal game that became a trend People would basically get a doll, remove all it's stuffing and fill it with rice they would then tie it with a red tie or their own hair and cut a piece of their nail After that they would put the doll in a bath tub and then the hide and seek begins, the doll will move and you have to find it and burn it in order to win

About the awkward ship... I think Will was said to be 14. Sophie seems to be around 16 or so, maybe even older depending when this game takes place... But I have to agree that Sophie may start to have a one-sided love towards Will because of how he looks like David. She may not care about age, as a result.
It's more like there's a possibility that since Sophie had a crush when she was young on David because he showed kindness to her during a difficult time Will might do the same to Sophie in some weird comedic cycle and we'll have some epilogue of him coming to visit her at the restaurant and her saying "Oh jeez"
