I have this tent, I picked it up for £35 'secondhand' (used once for DoE), this was the first review that wasn't slating the tent (only 1) I am v happy with it for that price, I am new to wild camping, have been doing it for 2 years now, so not ready to spend hundreds on a tent yet! v easy to stuff/ remove from the bag, easy to erect now I've done it a few times, I bought 20 new alloy pegs, as I lost a few anyway, these are loads better, it has been warm enough so far, not used in rain yet, I sit like this too when I am out, I use as strictly as a one person, no dog :( (and gear) tent, Thanks for the review, you have a new sub, 'Bobby' is a great name for him!
I’m currently two days deep into a soaking wet and very windy festival in Scotland and this tent has held up a treat 10/10 recommend especially if you can get it on sale
I bought a Vango Soul 300 I’m 6’2 and wanted the extra room, I can sit up in it (the NYX, are the same tents, just sold as an exclusive to the GoOutdoors group), I use it for cycle touring and have had it a few years now, it’s survived some really awful weather, without leaks. First thing I did was buy aluminium pegs, then later I bought some aluminium poles, it’s now much lighter and still cost far less than a tent that comes with aluminium poles. The only negative is not being able to prop the front door up as a covered area when cooking, the vestibule is far too small to risk attempting to cook in.
me and the wife have one found it a bit tight for us ,but our ruck sacks did just squeeze between fly and inner , so we got the vango nevis300 and it pefeck for us all kit and us fits inside with room to spare, and about 2.4 kl not bad , great review live the you tubes
It's good to see a review of a budget tent. Most of us start camping with entry level equipment, so having information about cheap tents is really useful.
So nice to see reviews of everyday tents Abbie as camping must be for everyday folk whatever the budget, so well done! Love that you are doing a giveaway to get someone started and hope the kit goes to someone who otherwise might struggle to buy for themselves. Nice work Abbie! 👍🏻
Hi Abbie. Massive fan from south eastern Australia, also a fellow suffering anxiety/depression type person.. although I'm always outdoors and 4wd camping every chance I get, I'm extremely new to the hiking game and have bailed a couple times already. I will keep trying though. The Victorian high country where i live is spectacular and i need to see as much of it as i can... thanks for the inspiration. Channel's like yours keep me wanting to keep getting out there..
Hi Abbie, Thank you for reviewing the Vango NYZ 200. which may be a budget tent, but it will certainly get you started. I think that this tent is more a one person tent with comfort rather than a two person tent. Like you, my first tent was a budget tent. I got mine from a second hand shop and it was the Blackthorn 1. It was tiny inside and like sleeping in a coffin. (no good for a big man like myself who weighs around 17stones.) I have since bought another two tents and I have given the Blackthorn 1 tent away to two young boys who live next door. I'm sure that they will have hours of fun with it. "Spread the love, spread the joy! What I suggest is to build up your kit as you go because then it doesn't become as expensive as trying to buy everything at once. You can also buy better quality.
I paid just over £25 for my first tent. It lasted a good number of years, travelled many miles and started the wild camping bug. Great to see you helping out new campers - keep up the good work :)
Great review Abbie! People could have some awesome adventures in that tent. Probably only a one person plus kit, but still luggable. It’s wonderful to see you review a tent that costs less than house in Wales! 😂😂🤣
😁 Hi Abbie that was great to see you revueinga a lower budget tent. Vango as a whole do fantastic tents I also started off with a low budget vango, had it for years and simply applied a water repellant spray onto the flysheet every couple of years and it never let me down. Definatley upgrade the std tent pegs though, on all makes and brands. I found so long as you have a comfortable sleeping mat and the right sleeping bag for time of year conditions etc You be just fine in a cheaper tent so long as its not mid winter in gale force winds and freezing temperatures. Really nice and good for you to be giving away a complete startup kit 👍👍👍👍 x
Hiya, I just picked one of these up today for £40 in go outdoors. Size wise, I would say it's perfect for a single man at 6ft 5. What's the condensation like during the night time please, the sales man said I might struggle a bit with having 2 dogs in there at night time, I really don't want to wake up to a wet tent due to condensation trickling down the tent.
Good to see see a review of some lower price tents. For me I think the weight of the poles on this would be a killer. For very little more you can get a Vango Nevis which is a fraction the weight, some vestibule for your kit and it pitch at once... at this price the 'very little extra' is nearly twice the price though so...
I'm a big fan of semi-geodesic tents, ever since my first North Face Tadpole. They're really cosy with two people, and they're super stable in high winds, though they can suffer a little with condensation of the roof. This seems like a hybrid of sorts.
I started hiking with the Vango Soul 200, a nice tent for a student on a budget. Some trips and hikes later, I am ready to level up my gear. But if you wish to figure out if trekking is for you, Vango has great tents to start with :)
Hi Abbie, I have recently got a Vango NYX 200. I tried to set up at home but really struggled with getting the big pole in. (Couldn’t do it) my son did but said it was not easy. Is their a knack to doing it. I noticed you said it was tricky. Bev
To be fair my lightweight tent is a old green Vango force ten mk1 fw that I seam and gold sealed and yeah it's small and probably about as old as me but it's still going strong the stuff sacks about dead though
Hi Abbie, I’m doing the Cleveland Way in May and I’m doing 2 days camping during it. I’ve bought myself a budget tent as camping is fairly new to me, but I have been thinking about upgrading the pegs. Which pegs would you recommend?
Those pegs aren't suitable for purpose, as they bend like a wet noodle the moment they encounter any resistance in the soil. They seem to have been standard for entry level tents for many decades, so the manufacturers can't be too concerned about the level of dissatisfaction from the customer; quite astonishing.
Frickin'.....!! Is that some form of urban street lingo?? As well as enjoying your videos in general, I find them useful in improving my diction. That is not frickin' helping any. Hang on.....maybe it is.
I have enjoyed watching your videos, and as much as I appreciate your enthusiasm for your outdoors hobby , I think perhaps you are spending a little too much time with nature . If this is the case , it's really not normal. Do you not have a boyfriend, or in a steady relationship? as an example . Do you enjoy the company of the opposite sex? go to social events , or even wish to start a family?? In my opinion, you can't spend too much of your time in the great outdoors away from the numbers! What you believe for now may be the ideal tonic that relieves mental health problems, could in the end prove to have the opposite effect .

I have the vango orion 200, great tent used it for the coast to coast in September.

1 person tents just mean one person uncomfortably lol, i always have a 2 man tent just for me :-)

Great review. Very helpful, insightful and professionally done. Love your doggy too xx
Thank you so much!
A great video Abbie, I love camping even at nearly 70. Stay safe and well. xx
Ever since I found your channel Abbie I watch and like every one of your videos. Your a wonderful Adventurer Teller! I guess you would say
Great little Vlog Abbie, at last a lower end price point review.
great knowledge information foresight and opinion sterling review top class video thanks for putting this up
A great review Abbie thanks for sharing.👍
I'm a tent noob and could not figure that the ends of the poles had to have the metal clasps inserted so thanks 👍, helpful vid

Excellent and very informative video. Did start with a Vango Banshee 200 but now have a Alpkit Polestar purely for weight.

I dont have an issue with cond at all with this tent. (like I did with my 1st single skin tent)

I got this on SW coast path. £55. I think it's alot better than last tunnel tent, and it has some good features. I like the Bobcat better.

Great review…thanks Abbie. My first tent was a Vango force 10 many years ago!
I sleep in mine with rucksack and 3 pointers I use oex tarp its much more adaptable for many situations.

Yeah it's not a great design to that bit!! I think it's defo a case of getting the knack of it!
Definetly easier whilst NOT pegged out
Great review Thanks Abbie
Thanks for the review
Hello Abbie.. Would you recommend the new tent to me?. I have an older tent and need new one. Many thanks Mick. x
To be fair my lightweight tent is a old green Vango force ten mk1 fw that I seam and gold sealed and yeah it's small and probably about as old as me but it's still going strong the stuff sacks about dead though
Good video Abbie
Could you fit a campbed?
Probably a bit tight!

I’ve bought myself a budget tent as camping is fairly new to me, but I have been thinking about upgrading the pegs.
Which pegs would you recommend?
i have this tent, its ok... poles not too good. bag for mine is better though, pull string at the top.
Love it, looks like a good entry level tent. A bit more porch would have been nice though :-)
Great cheep tent , colour makes me think of opal fruits for some reason ;)
If you want a bargain tent just for yourself you can’t go wrong with Oex bobcat.
Looks like soul 200
