Great video. I have a quick question just out of curiosity: when the calculated cost of the envelope was $3.37, the video jumped to $5.49. What happened to make that price jump?

One supplier that I order pen blanks from takes a 'ball park' approach. There's a set fee for shipping based on the number of items etc. BUT he makes it clear that the shipping cost is a guess and that he'll refund the difference between the estimate and tha actual costs.
I usually get a refund.
loved this video, so helpful! I'm looking to start a shopify store and flat rate shipping seems the most appealing. I like the idea of my customers already knowing what to expect. In addition to that i want to factor in a few bucks of the shipping, in the price of the item. almost like were splitting the cost. would you say thats a good idea? also does this method work for large orders? again, im selling clothing.

I had a customer buy 2 sweatshirts from my Etsy shop and Etsy made 2 shipping labels. Do you know how to make that NOT happen? I googled and it said if I cancel a label, there wouldn't be a refund. So I shipped them separately. Thank you in advance!

Several ebay listings at around $5 & free ship.Ebay printed label was $ 12 ,in person at usps ,I was quoted 5.72 this item is a package of Arrow T50 x 3/8 . Also same item available at Lowes under $5.

I would love to know how you’re dealing with the USPS shipping delays? Is it just in Texas? It’s been weeks since packages have shipped and still in the distribution center. I’m considering switching to UPS Ground even though it’s a little more expensive. My husband is a UPS driver so I naturally want to support them over FedEx. LOL. Buttt trying to figure out how to charge shipping costs without scaring customers. Any advice? I’m thinking about building in $5 into the price of item and $4 shipping price.

Hey there! If you plan on making sublimation or DTF transfers, yes you need a special printer and a heat press to be able to transfer those on shirts. Checkout my sublimation playlist as well as my newest video on making t shirts for more info on that! Hope this helps!

I want to ship my decal stickers to the UK but I don’t know how to add 1st class international shipping which is less than $2. Any idea how to do this?
How concrete or still are the rates you find for shipping to all the different places you have? Lol Does the shipping ‘empire’ so to speak or I guess if it’s all under the USPS system, does it go up and down a lot to where it’s unreliable to charge a flat rate? Is it one of those things you find yourself going on your selling platform to edit frequently in the pricing section? Cause that’s no biggie either, but it would be bliss to know the rates are pretty steady quarterly or year round (atleast) 😮💨😰
i want to sell something that is heavy and will ship out in 5 seperate BOX sections , each one weighing aprox 22 pounds each box.. Am i going to be charged much more because of the 5 individual boxes as compared to just one large box ?

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve had trouble with shipping profiles for years. Something’s not getting through to me…I’m beyond frustrated.
Thought I was ok- but had a sale from Switzerland- gift wrapped (which I have never offered, nor do I know where this option is located) and priority ship. But she was only charged 14. The actual amount to ship was over $50.
I’m setting up profiles, but am now having trouble applying a profile to a listing. I try to apply listings on one page, then save, but I get an error message. When I click on a listing (in settings) I can’t tell which profile has been applied.
I’m so lost.

Etsy has been cheaper than pirate ship, and I don’t offer ground shipping since the difference is below $1.50 to priority ( faster and free boxes)
I have had large signs be significantly cheaper using the ground! It just depends on the dimensions of your product. One order saved me $30 utilizing ground.
curious - why don't you first class stamp your flat envelopes $0.59 vs. $3.49?
I tried this for about a year and it was a nightmare. Constant lost packages, and customers wanted tracking. This was the year I had cases opened, and bad reviews. It's not worth it. Always include tracking and insurance! These customers even had the choice to upgrade to tracking and were still upset.

can someone help me understand how my competitor has a 2LB unit and ships as if its first class shipping I'm paying about $10-$13 for shipping for a 2LB while they're selling the same unit but charging 3.95 Standard Shipping I checked their reviews and no complains I don't get it?
Sometimes they are including the price of shipping into their product, or sometimes they are just taking a huge price cut/making it an add on item expecting for their customers to purchase multiple items so they can make a profit. It really just depends on a lot of factors!

What about the scenario where people are local and want to pick the order up.
In that case you would make a custom listing for the customer and remove the shipping cost from the price 😊

@@maggie9256 you can make a new listing on etsy that is specifically created with that customer in mind. You input the pricing, etc specific to that local order or custom order 😊

Yep they always tell you that 🤣 they just want you to cover shipping in your price. They push that pretty hard since that's the way the online shopping world is now.
