Hi Robert, this is an old video, so I hope that you see this. I want to thank you for your awesome contributions to the puppy world- I'm sure the time and energy you put into these videos doesn't pay very well, but I'm sure there's many like me who really appreciate you all your wisdom. I love your antics about the negative people, and you I really like the way you emit the truth- hopefully it will help curb a few morons in the world- and more importantly, make their puppies lives better! I have a beautiful 16 week old Maly- that I acquired at 8 weeks- my ninth dog- and I thank you as I have picked up many helpful tips from your videos- THANK YOU! My puppy Maly is disciplining me as much as I him, and he is a BIG part of my life and goes with me almost EVERYWHERE! Everyone rants about how aggressive this breed is, but I have found this puppy to be so sweet, gentle, and obedient that he has been much easier to train than the two Labrador-retreivers or any of the other shepards or other dogs I've owned. Maybe I'm older and have more experience- or maybe o got real lucky with this particular breeder and specific dog. In any case, I have noticed that the dogs behavior in general- always mimic the owners- whether it be loud, obnoxious, or down right mean. I think it's a universal spiritual dog law. So, thank you again, and I LOVE your channel !!!

Mr. Cabral🙌🏻! 2 yrs ago I got a very broken Old English Sheepdog (after the passing of my previous OES). Owen was super reactive with all other dogs; hitting the end of the leash so hard he'd literally do backflips while barking like a maniac. Total nightmare walking him. In large part thanks to your videos, I got him to stop the bs. Also with the help of a friend and his non reactive dog. Now, he gets along with all dogs beautifully. Thank you for your practical no-nonsense videos. 🥰 Solid insights and advice.

I just want to say thank you Robert for taking the time to make these videos and explain certain things I've learned a lot just by listening to you, which is made it easier for me to be a better person for my puppy. I am sometimes just amazed at how it goes down. Stay well Robert thank you for everything you do for puppies and dogs

This was super helpful! I’m not a member (yet!) but I’ve really enjoyed your videos. We recently rescued a Malinois puppy, 9 weeks, (she’s our second mal, first one crossed the bridge) and boy is she different- adorable, sweet and HIGH drive. Since she’s a rescue we know nothing about her dad, and VERY little about her mom. A challenge we decided was a good fit. We are both home 24/7 and excited to do even better this time around(first mal was exceptional!)

Long story short, I immediately started researching, since I never had this experience, found your videos and THANK YOU, she has a natural high prey drive but after only a few days of applying your techniques, I'm already seeing changes, she also has a high desire to please people. The people who criticise crate training ironically seem to be the same people who later either permanently banish their dog to the backyard or relinquish it to a shelter due to destructive behavior...Somehow when a person lacks critical thinking skills these are apparently more desirable alternatives.

On tail and ear cropping, I have a doby pup he has a cropped tail, as did my first. My middle one had full tail. Personally I believe (unless working dog) they should have tails and ears as it helps for it to communicate with other dogs. As in positioning of ears and tail tells other dogs how it is feeling.

Why people think they should voice, let alone impose their opinions on other peoples private decisions is beyond me. Many of the same people who call cropping mutilation will also insist you castrate or spay your animals.
There's plenty of real animal cruelty to be found. One need only visit a few municipal shelters to find it.

@@hectorskmetija3015 meh, ill give you the voicing part...maybe. mostly I think it's just virtue signaling from people who really don't care. I hear it about Dobermans mostly. All the while PBT & Canne Corso are just as frequently cropped. In fact many PBTs are cropped at home. Let that sink in. I bred Jack Russells in the late 90s , a few people said docking was cruel. Guess how many people actually wanted to purchase a Jackie without the "Jack handle" ? None, that I ever encountered.
Some may say it's a fashion thing. I'll concede that if people are willing to admit to virtue signaling by conforming, not to popular opinion. But to the loudest voices of an often disinterested 3rd party. After all, political correctness is all the rage.. it's all fun and games until it affects you.

Making sure your pup feels secure, nothing is ever perfect, yet we can give them the best balanced life possible. If we take on the commitment we owe them, if we can’t keep commitments pups, pets probably isn’t a good idea. I love playing rough with all my pets it’s teaching them play time is play time is the training. Can’t afford your program but I love listening to your advice, I consider myself pretty good pet owner that can always learn something.

Your thoughts on failing and learning from it. Spot on. You have to learn that losing sucks. You don't want to lose again. If you never learn that because you are coddled, you will never learn to achieve greatness. Applying it to puppies is an easy adaptation.

    • @ShamanicSavant
      @ShamanicSavant 3 года назад

Winning or losing is a matter of perspective. Using your own math... if we learn by our failures then doesn't winning mean we lose the opportunity to learn? I think the whole point of being in a world where we're allowed to make mistakes is to make as many as we can survive in the hope of learning what it means to be Human. Best of luck with that :)

the dog socialization subject is very helpful. especially with all these doggie daycare places.. seeming very unregulated. so many people "oh she just wants to play" when their dog is obviously too hyped. and some daycares do not give breaks.. have too many dogs of ALL ages together, and not enough humans.. people that are supposed to be monitoring the dogs walking / pacing around looking at their cell phones most of the time. another monitor, carrying a puppy around because puppy is too young to be with all those big dogs.. so that monitor is now unavailable for responding to anything that could go wrong.. the list goes on. allowing dogs to jump on them. and people saying OH IT"S SO GREAT!!! you HAVE to socialize your dog.. and take them to dog daycare.

Go practice for a hundred years and honestly address your flaws, then come back.” Talk about butthurt and insulted…I had a kid tell me once “I play Mozart much more romantically than most” after totally murdering a concerto, so I said “then you’re never going to win an audition. After you win, you can embarrass yourself any way you want if a conductor allows it, but you’d better learn the correct style if you ever expect to win a professional audition.”

The puppy cries at night, hates her crate, wakes me up, I get adrenaline rushes and I can’t go back to sleep, haven’t eaten anything. I am not sure what else i can do to get rid of this feeling.
I am following your crate training tips and she’s slowly giving in, but my anxiety doesn’t subside.
I lost 9 lbs in the last 3 days and all I’ve eaten was a cereal bar. Can’t calm down.
Any tips to help me understand what’s happening to me? Ever had experience with another person feeling the same way?

I love you!!! You're saying what so many of us want to say to stupid "snowflakes", but afraid to do. I used to tell people not to adopt an aggressive dog, that should be put to sleep. Invest in a good dog, that otherwise might get euthanized. You rock for telling people to get lost if they don't like you. ♡♡♡
Thank you for your great videos and the time you put into them.

?? we have a 7 month old Lab and a 4 month old german shepherd. 98% of the time they are the best pals- no aggression about feeding simultaneously- they sleep together-- but when they get going and play rough the GS frequently can puncture the jowls of the lab. I now supervise all of their play- how long should I expect this behavior- what can I do to stop it?

We've been keeping our dogs in pretty much I mean they can go out course you not tell him they want to go out and tell him I said look it's too hot you know and you don't get it I told you it was too hot anyway but when my dog hope is 8 when she does her name hope and then we've had the puppy with her I mean she just adores the pup and the puppy adores her she goes everywhere with with the dog hope I mean he does we named him Zorro and you know I just I'm going to really follow you on the puppy training because the eight-year-old is totally you know trained I knew that Chow dogs or I had read nothing good about them on the Internet when I got her and I still will I meet limited socializer a lot until I socialized that took used to take her to the park and she does look like a little teddy bear and I would let kids play with her all the time and you know get up in their face I get up in your face cuz she was like you know under under 5 months she was adorable and I know she would they would just hold her and why didn't I didn't want him to hold her like she male leash but they would like get around her and say and ask I make sure they ask can I pet your puppy and t and you know I think against with the things you teaching seems pretty untrained but she'll sit on command she'll come on command she'll do I'll tell her to do things and she'll do it so you know she does definitely have good manners it's just it was kind of rough at times to train her because she would get out you know just the whole lot think she's okay I mean obviously you know I got it always refresh
For me personally I think that the most challenging part since I'm not a professional dog trainer is just to make sure that I'm doing it right because I feel like you know that she's following me I have to be on track first

? ? My 3-month-old Pitbully puppy sleeps in his crate at night (door open) but I have the leash on so he can poop and pee in his potty tray. I want to unleash him while his crate open but he's not 100% potty trained yet. I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly or is there anything I can do better? We live in a small apartment and eventually, I want him to be 100% off leash at home at potty trained. I walk him daily by the way. Thank you very much!
