leah4sci.com/organicchemistry Presents: An Introduction to Naming Organic Compounds
This Leah4sci tutorial is the first in my new Organic Chemistry naming series. the purpose of this video is to give you a introduction to my take on the IUPAC naming system, and to introduce you to what I consider to be the 'puzzle pieces' of nomenclature
The concepts discussed in this video will show up in every subsequent video as we slowly tackle functional group after functional group turning a potentially difficult topic into something doable and fun (yup, that wasn't a typo)
Many students struggle with naming because they attempt to come up with the entire name at once and often wind up missing a piece or two. After this series you won't have that problem anymore

Thank you so much.I was struggling with organic chemistry, but after watching this video,I've now gotten a wider knowledge.
Glad to help!

You're so very welcome, happy to share!
Your explanation is really detailed. Somehow my school lecturer does not seem to explain in such a way, expecting everyone is smart enough to understand through only a brief explanation. I understand alot more by going through your video. Thank you, please keep making more chemistry videos!
You're very welcome! And I add new videos all the time, so keep checking back.
I understood this much faster than reading my textbook which i found a bit confusing. Thank you so much. Almost a whole chapter understood in 8 mins!

U r awesome

What is a pi bond?
A pi bond is part of a covalent bond that involves the overlapping of unhybridized p orbitals. To simplify it, most organic professors will just want you to know that a double bond has a single pi bond, while a triple bond has TWO pi bonds. Many will even use the terms "double bond" and "pi bond" interchangeably.
