@kimbereddy Alright, I will give it a try, thanks. We are redoing our 5th wheel and now adding different lights, but the slide has 12v for 2 lights and 120v for the 2 bigger lights in the middle of the slide.
So just confirming there are 2 black wires for the switch one get wired to the black wire in the light and the other black wire gets wired to the black wire to the rv. Correct?
No problem! I had a hard time finding videos when I went to change myself lights. Glad it’s helpful! I can’t recall what size but the measurement of the base of the switch is 14mm so I think a 9/16 bit would work.
Thanks! Was silly how long it took to find this info
Agreed. Took me so long I had to make a video for others. Glad it helped!
Good to know! I ordered some and can't wait to put a few fixtures up in our RV tomorrow. Thank you so much for this excellent video!
Im so glad it’s helpful!
Thank you soooo much! My hubby was struggling with tripping circuits and your video helped immensely and we got our light to work!
I’m so glad it was helpful!
Would this work for 120v wiring?
The method of adding the switch should work for any wiring yes. I originally found this method on another video for regular house fixture wiring

Been looking for this exact tutorial. Thank you!!
Ok confused a little where did you wire in the 2 black wires for the switch 🤔 did they get wired to the black and white wires?
Yes you hook one switch wire to the white wire and one to the black wire. It opens and closes the current to turn it on and off.
Where did you get those switches any link?
Yep it’s in the description when you toggle down. Let me know if you don’t see it!

Great video, very easy to follow. Thanks so much!
That is awesome - thank you!!
Can you give me the brand of the switch you purchase on Amazon, I've been looking for some switches for our lights that I'm installing. Thanks
Hi Marc, if you open up the description of the video the link to the switches is there. Good luck with your install!
Question, i have 2 white wires on a couple of my camper lights. Do I have to connect both white wires to the new fixture?
Wow! Super appreciate you sharing, we are trying to do the exact same thing in our RV! Appreciate the links too! We are posting videos as well!
jenneyefer86 so glad it’s helpful!
Thank you for this great video. What size drill bit did you use? This helps me so much.
