Tate couldn’t see, looked like he was pinched and maybe took a hop. Nothing Tate could have done other than get a better start. Most of them were early just a bad deal. Glad no one was hurt and hopefully they can fix both boats. Tate finally looked comfortable.
It will be interesting to hear why it took 60 seconds after a hydroplane flipped and for it to be run over by another hydroplane for them to black flag the course.
At 6:39 in the slow motion video the hydroplane is flipping. The U-8 doesn't slow down until 7:36. Did he ignore the black flag for 50 seconds? In other videos some hydros are slowing down 40 seconds after the flip. The U-1 did the best job of slowing down about 20 seconds after the flip, so he either saw the flag or was radioed about the black flag.
@@englepj They are also flying across the water at over 160 mph with rooster tails of water inside a capsule with limited vision, nobody even knew a boat was over until after the spray settled and the lead boats were half way down the backstretch. It's boat racing and stuff happens.

Looked like Tate was trying to wash him down!
It didn't look like there was a lane there, definitely got pinched. I'm sure once he caught a bit of that wake it just sucked the boat right in.

it was about 10 secs. not 1 minute.
It was "a long time."
My question, it looked like there was a lane that closed and someone from the dock was running close to competitors
