Surprised this only has 18k views by far the best song on the album. Vic is slept on heavily, his level of versatility as an artist is mind boggling. I wish he'd takes some time to create a SaveMoney compilation tape a la Asap Mob.
To @Vic Mensa - So I woke up this morning, ready for the day and excited, always am, walked to the back, turn up my music, I turned on my music on shuffled, and the 2nd song Vic Mensa plays 'Say I didnt'. One of my fav songs that I have found this year, I heard it differently to my heart almost immediately when you started spittin' that hot fire, and I started crying, like balling in happiness, haha! This time around I had felt an immediate wave for the love of my Father that passed away couple years ago as if he was holding me in his arms, I was just like going through the most happiest crying ive ever had in my life and I was just thinking about all the beautiful things about my father and I. He suffered with 1 kidney for 10 years and dialysis, and also was a heavy alcoholic/cigg smoker that whole time, even while taking medicines maybe. Until something made him horribly sick, and he didnt want to go to hospital. I feel almost responsible about not forcing that, that week but I dont fully. I only lived with him a month before he passed away, I never really did live with him very much in a recent measure, but lots of good time spent. I just want to say a real Thank you for this priceless feeling, and if there was ever a way that I could meet you in real life, I would give you one of the biggest brotherly hugs that I could give to a person, the type of hug you give to a brother that you share a same past pain and strong love bond to their father. That would be something life changing for me, seriously haha!. I cannot express this fully in words, I had it on repeat for a good minute(s). Thank you so much Vic, I just dont know how I couldve done this with so much laughter and happiness, so much that I was tearing bullets down my face with the feeling of being with my dad, haha! God bless you and your fam. and the universe ofc.
Soooooooooooooooo underrated. I'll hopefully be able to come back to this one day and he has the credit he deserved this whole time. The real fans got you Vic 💯

And now they back home saying "How could Vic leave?"

[Verse 2]
I know that I don't call like I should, I hope that everything's good
And Mom's doing well at that school in Kenwood
And Lizzie's still happy up at Ballet Memphis
I know she would've been at Grandma's funeral if she could
I rarely share my problems with ya but I'm glad to have a father figure
I know I grew up more blessed than a lot of niggas
A lot of niggas' pops is like lottery tickets
They bet on them but never get to hear their number call up
Coming home soon as the summer's on
I took the winter off in L.A. cause the city's too cold
But I'm heating up, soon as I drop the album
We on an island like Friday in Robinson Crusoe
Hit the town with my old man, make him feel young again
I know he proud of that tattooed son of his
