@@NoThing-d1q6k I think the cartoony Sprite-based graphics of the original look better than the 3D models for the remake, it runs at half the framerate, the animations in the remake look a lot stiffer and less polished, the Special attacks are heavily nerfed to be easier to pull off while dealing significantly less damage, several enemy attacks have become easier to dodge and counter, and the battle sound effects aren't as satisfying. The remake's soundtrack is lackluster compared to the original, the battle tracks in particular feel less intense which is disappointing. I also really liked how the Final Battle music stopped when the Core was defeated. It gave it a sense of finality. In the remake, the music keeps playing while Bowser deals his finishing blow, which loses that sense of finality. It's just a cheap cash-grab remake that has next to none of the soul of the original. I know Alphadream was going bankrupt when they remade it as a last-ditch effort to save their company, they likely didn't have the resources they had when they made the original, but it had poor sales and may have actually made their financial situation worse.
@@Zyk0th "I think the cartoony Sprite-based graphics of the original look better than the 3D models for the remake" I feel this with most remakes of sprite based. While games from the early 3D era (N64/PS1) could use a graphics update, sprite based based games (especially SNES era games) aged really well and almost never look better with a remake IMO.
On the fight against Wisdurm with the attack where she shrinks you, pulling out your hammer stops your movement, you don't have to wait until you stop running to thwack her
Wisdurm can also apparently softlock the game while she''s small, but strictly only if a bro has died- she'll just repeatedly target the dead slot without stopping, which happened to me once in a low level Jump/Hammer only run
Mario and Luigi become so powerful that they ascend to godhood and are officially canonized in the in the religion of the mushroom kingdom. Millions of toads pray to them for strength and courage
I've always felt like Wisdurm is one of the best bosses in this game, yet she goes underappreciated. Her gimmick makes you constantly switch up your attacks and her attacks, especially the jump rope, do more than most other bosses to test your reflexes and perception. Also, as Emile just demonstrated, she can be very challenging even when you have all the best gear equipped.
"She can be very challenging even when you have all the best gear equipped" .....unless you're a beast at using a certain special attack from Bowser Castle, which one shots her when you're good at it.
@Sonario648 Magic Window one shots anything if you're good enough. That's one thing the Bowser X glitch is good for: It makes the fight impossible to cheese with Magic Window because you can't see who's jumping.
If the price for the A-OK Wear is too steep, there is an endgame enemy that has a 0.5% chance of dropping it. If you get lucky, you can save some money that way
There's also a pair of free DX POW Gloves hidden in Toadle Clinic. In the patients' room, you drill under the right wall to find a secret room. And there's another pair in Peach's Castle once you can access that.
1:15 We all just did, Chugga. We ALL just did. 23:11 Did an Aerodactyl break into Chugga's house at that exact moment? I have a feeling that I know what's coming up next...
Wisdurm's shrink attack requires you to hit her like 4-5 times. You can't space your attacks out as much as you do because if you reach the end, you lose your ability to attack anymore. The Bros also stumble on that attack because otherwise you could just mash the button and it would be really easy to counter
the moment Wisdurm shrinks a Bro and starts chasing him, you can immediately hammer as soon as they appear from the right side of the screen, if you don't hold onto the hammer button, Mario/Luigi automatically runs from Wisdurm. Give yourself about 2-3 spacings in between hits for about 4-5 hits, she cries and the Bro. returns back to normal. If you reach about 4 spaces near the left side of the screen, the Bro. trips and is trampled for high dmg.[I never saw this happen because I always countered this attack... and that was in 2009!!]
*outside of Bowser's Castle* Bowser: Alright, time to find a way into the underground treasure chamber. Nothing is going to stop us now. Chippy: Uh, Bowser? Bowser: Huh, what is it, Chippy? Starlow: Could you go over to Cavi Cape for a moment? Bowser: What, no! Why would I ever go back there? That's the complete opposite direction of where I need to go! Are you actively trying to keep me from getting the second Star Cure? Starlow: No, of course not. I just think a change of scenery would be nice. Bowser: You can't even see anything in there! Starlow: Please? Bowser: ... Fine, but only for a few minutes. Starlow: A few minutes? *looks over at Mario and Luigi still hitting the 99 block* Yeah, that works. Bowser: Gah, back to Dimble Wood, I guess. Kathie: This 'Chippy' fella doesn't seem all that helpful. Shawn: Yeah. I don't know why Lord Bowser even bothers listening to her. Goomther: I mean, she's the reason Bowser's still alive and breathing, so that's a big deal. Kathie: I guess you have a point, but I don't think I like her tone all that much. Shawn: I just hope we never have to meet her if she somehow gets out of Bowser's body. Goomther: Let's just head for Cavi Cape right now and think about this later. *one visit to Cavi Cape later* Bowser: Finally, back at the castle. I've got an entrance to the underground section opened up and I'm ready to punch more of Fawful's minions. That detour better have been worth it, Chippy. Starlow: Trust me, it was. Bowser: Ok, no more getting sidetracked. To the underground treasure chamber! Goomther: Forward march! Kathie: At your service, my liege! Shawn: SHOO-RAH! Starlow: Phew, that was quite the endurance round just now. Let's just have Bowser take over from here and get that Star Cure. Luigi: *speaks in Italianese* (What happens when he finally gets it, though? Don't we need all three Star Cures to break down the barriers?) Starlow: Yeah, I haven't thought that far ahead yet. Mario: *speaks in Italianese* (Perhaps we just find Bowser outside and steal the Star Cure off of him.) Starlow: That might just be what we have to do. For now, we wait.

If anyone wants really good stats on Mario and Luigi, something that most people dont know is that bowsers current level affects the stats the bros gain on level up. Bowser being at level 21 or 37 gives particularly good level ups. This is only true in the original though.
@@Lime_Sherbert The developers might have did it to add variety to peoples level ups. There is a chart with the the bonuses for every level in an old message board somewhere, but, i just remember 21 and 37 being particularly good as I used them to get nearly optimal stats on Mario and Luigi, like 7 or so hp every single level for example.
@@tylerb9793 There is an approx 90% chance that it is a bug where the game is using Bowser's level instead of the bros respective levels to look at the level-up table when they level up, because in every other game the base level-up stats are determined by the level of the bro in question.
@@alexstewart9592 Eh, I don't think its a bug. The stats the bros get definitely dont match what bowser would get at the same levels. And some levels are too specific. Like Bowser being over level 40 always give the bros bad stats; except for 99 specifically set to be better, so, as to not completely screw Mario and Luigi's potential growth.
Or actually i guess it could be like you said and the game is just checking the wrong characters level, but, correct stat table. Misread what you said at first, but, could be plausible. It lets you optimize the bros stats to be pretty insane after all.

When wisdurm shrinks the bro, your supposed to be holding the hammer ASAP and hit her each possible time. After enough hits, she takes the hint and leaves you alone. Running away is a trap and will get you killed. Edit: I knew you could do, Emil!
15:43 Fun fact in the remake the reason as to why is a bit easier is down to it being in 30fps instead of 60fps like in the other M and L games before it is why everything feels a bit more slower in general. iirc?
I mean this respectfully- I am glad this episode PROPERLY showcased how actually DIFFICULT Wisdurm is as a boss fight in general with the X version, as I personally felt that the short 3 minutes of the original run did not accurately portray the insanity of fighting her. The star beam swap attack can throw you off a lot, the glass jewel attack ACTUALLY gave some trouble this time- which def validated how I struggled SO MUCH to counter it correctly as a kid, and as shown, the hammer counter when shrunken is REALLY hard to pull off- it's a weird mix of not taking too long but also leaving enough gaps to set up your hammer and hit her 4-5 times to swat her away. We definitely have harder fights coming up but Wisdurm will always be a bane of my childhood.
24:35 Actually it's 4-3, you guys have only done seven of the eleven challenges. Emile: Green Shell, Super Bouncer, Jump Helmet, Rally Block Tim: Yoohoo Cannon, Goomba Storm, Koopa Corps Remaining: Plack Pieces, Bowser Pieces, Blitz Minions, Mob Minions
Emile, I just want to say you've really made me feel happy when I see a let's play from you of a game that I had from my childhood, and you made me want to get into content creation on YT with games that I've loved and want to share with the world and hopefully get a second channel similar to the Runaway guys Edit: I also wanted to add that I've loved your stuff since you're 2nd playthrough of Earthbound, and you got me into it because I have a soft spot for RPGS and it was so great in every way i knew and some ways I never knew I would love about it, namely the 1/128 challenge, in Japan moments, and the dialouge from NPCs
When Wisdurm shrinks you, it’s not about hitting when she gets close, you have to hit her as many times as possible. If hit enough times, she’ll back off and abort the attack.
In the 3DS version, defeating Wisdurm X gives you the Speed Star gear. The in game description for the Speed Star says "the faster you defeats foes, the more items you earn" However that's not exactly all it does. It actually increases all rewards from battles, including EXP. And that amount of EXP you gain from that gear can get pretty high, making it some of the best gear for leveling up in that version
Bit of a silly IRL moment for me here. As soon as they cleared the 99 Block Challenge, the lights went out in my room except for the TV I was watching this on. A breaker tripped in the house as Emile and Tim were celebrating, and I was confused for a moment. XD
I can't ignore this anymore, when Bowser looks at the screen and stares out into space he looks so "Duh", like he is confused at the player looking at him, I don't know why my brain thinks this
9:14 for that attack you need to hit her 4 times which you need to pull out the hammer while your running stopping you letting you it again it’s a really hard attack to understand (oh he looked it up)
gumption socks + daredevil boots on mario with luigi having the giant shell and bro socks makes the game incredibly easy, as mario gets double damage at no risk and luigi takes 0 damage from everything whilst waiting for mario to revive

That store genuinely blew my mind when I first saw it. The fact that there is a store so prestigious and high-end that all of their customers are being treated like lords such that they enter the shopping area by ascending into the heavens and their shopping experience is made as comfortable as humanly (toadly?) possible... I'll have to go with the former since we can't tell what it was, and I have to work with the lowest common denominator, so to speak. 14:05 Chuggaa has to counter this attack to end it, so I added another Counter Hit. 14:09 I'll assume the Bros. had 342 HP left between them, because that's much they had before the cut and we don't know if Chuggaa got hit by that last attack. 18:51 If he leveled up, he did so off of a battle with at least one enemy. 32:37 I'm counting this wooden plate and the seven stone slabs as destructibles since Bowser breaks them with one of his main moves. *This Episode's Score:* 64,760 pts. *Total Score So Far:* 1,979,120 pts.
Before I forget to mentoin it again: There is a secret room in Toadley Clinic that you can access from the patients' room by drilling under the right wall. You could've gotten a pair of DX POW Gloves in there for absolutely free. 02:40 Why didn't you show the other stats for it? The A-OK Wear is not just "generic filler overalls", it raises HP by 30, SP by 10, and POW, Speed and Stache by 20 each, in addition to the massive +150 to DEF. These are arguably the best trousers in the game (except perhaps the Master Wear that you get from getting all A ranks in Cholesteroad). 27:24 Oh okay, nevermind that then. 09:12 You need to raise your hammer earlier. There's no need to gain so much distance after hitting her, just pull out the hammer. 09:54 You could've gotten Spin Pipe already, which really helps a lot just for targeting the magic wand in this fight. 12:50 She wouldn't catch you if you didn't. Wouldn't be much of an attack then. 26:45 I think that guy has another bit of dialogue where he complains about pants that cost 3000 coins. 27:02 At level 26, I am well aware of how overpowered you already are.
13:27 You have no idea how inspiring it is to hear that you're also opposed to using the word "hate." It's such a common word nowadays, but I feel like its widespread use has a lot of negative repercussions that are often overlooked. Good on you for challenging yourself like that. :)
Chugga: **didn’t remember that he already did the Bounce Bros endless challenge** A Toad patient at Dr. Toadley’s clinic: **can’t remember what happens between Plack Beach, and Bowser’s Castle** _Even _*_MORE_*_ foreshadowing for what’s to come later in this adventure…_
When having used up ALL the beans on the Bros, try this arrangement of gear; A-OK wear, DX Pow gloves/boots(alternate able, e.g; Mario with gloves, Luigi with boots or vice versa.) and tight belt. With both Bros having such high Pow(especially with higher levels) many enemies and X- bosses become absolute jokes due to the sheer power of your Bros when using any attack, Bros(special) or otherwise. I've a profile on my DS version where with this arrangement the Bros at level 53 have an easy time with the gauntlet battles, ONLY troublesome one is the secret boss at the end. Airway becomes a laughably easy XP farm too.
Consider: Regular Koopa Troopas are shown to be able to remove their shells and wear sleeveless shirts underneath Perhaps Bowser's shell, too, is a form of clothing/armor and he might be wearing some clothes under there Or he might be going commando
Pro Mario & Luigi players Don’t bother getting DX pow gloves there’s 2 in the game you can get without buying them saves your money one is in the Clinic you can use the drill bros move the second one is in the final area requires spin bros get the Tight belts A ok wear & Dx pow boots i recommend saving up & soft reset for the Star in scratch off you definitely need 40% discount ❤😊
Those who don't know: "why does he keeps saying money is hard to come by? He has over 20,000 coins!" Those who do know: "Best equipment in the game - over 20,000 coins for a single purchase" Everyone knows: the true title of this game is - Chuggaa & Tim: Bowser's Inner Globin
9:10 advice for that shrinking attack, instead of running away as far as possible and hammering when she gets close, you want to pull out your hammer sooner when there's enough space to prepare, let her approach, and bonk her as usual, way more than two or three times.
Oh wow. I have never forgotten how much this luxury store for those of Star Rank and higher goes all out to make Mario and Luigi feel like REAL SUPERSTARS. Hope that the second cure will be soon in Emile's grasp.

One of my favorite things about this LP is the running gag of Emile going "IN DA REMAKE"
reminds me of Chugga's 2nd Earthbound LP where he'd do a similar thing but say "IN JAPAN"
@@toastrave7820 he did the "in japan" bit in multiple LPs
To be Fair “DA REMAKE” was worse in most ways
@@Zyk0th "I think the cartoony Sprite-based graphics of the original look better than the 3D models for the remake"
I feel this with most remakes of sprite based. While games from the early 3D era (N64/PS1) could use a graphics update, sprite based based games (especially SNES era games) aged really well and almost never look better with a remake IMO.

On the fight against Wisdurm with the attack where she shrinks you, pulling out your hammer stops your movement, you don't have to wait until you stop running to thwack her
You'll have to do this too since she takes at least 5+ hits to deter later in the fight.
@@axlexe8639 turns out you don't have to worry about that if you have high power.
@@TheUltimateRare Well that too.
Wisdurm can also apparently softlock the game while she''s small, but strictly only if a bro has died-
she'll just repeatedly target the dead slot without stopping,

I've always felt like Wisdurm is one of the best bosses in this game, yet she goes underappreciated.
Her gimmick makes you constantly switch up your attacks and her attacks, especially the jump rope, do more than most other bosses to test your reflexes and perception. Also, as Emile just demonstrated, she can be very challenging even when you have all the best gear equipped.
"She can be very challenging even when you have all the best gear equipped" .....unless you're a beast at using a certain special attack from Bowser Castle, which one shots her when you're good at it.

The attack where you are made small: it's depends on how many times you hit the hammer, not how far you get 10:04
Yep, you have to hit her multiple times, if not they out of stamina and trip.
I love that during the duration of challenges bowser is staring in awe at a hole in his castle
Wisdurm's shrink attack requires you to hit her like 4-5 times. You can't space your attacks out as much as you do because if you reach the end, you lose your ability to attack anymore. The Bros also stumble on that attack because otherwise you could just mash the button and it would be really easy to counter
You commented a bit too early lol
@N..O yeah, but then I was able to add on the comment on why the plumbers take random pauses in their runs lol
the moment Wisdurm shrinks a Bro and starts chasing him, you can immediately hammer as soon as they appear from the right side of the screen, if you don't hold onto the hammer button, Mario/Luigi automatically runs from Wisdurm.

Starlow: Yeah, I haven't thought that far ahead yet.

If anyone wants really good stats on Mario and Luigi, something that most people dont know is that bowsers current level affects the stats the bros gain on level up. Bowser being at level 21 or 37 gives particularly good level ups. This is only true in the original though.
why is that? or is that another thing ppl haven’t mined yet

1:12 Emile, you just broke me by making me laugh uncontrollably… late at night, while I’m suffering from a cold. _IT WAS PERFECT!!!_

When Wisdurm shrinks you, it’s not about hitting when she gets close, you have to hit her as many times as possible. If hit enough times, she’ll back off and abort the attack.
Crazy how this episode makes it seem like we’re near the end of the game but we’ve probably got another 15-25 episodes to go
In the 3DS version, defeating Wisdurm X gives you the Speed Star gear. The in game description for the Speed Star says "the faster you defeats foes, the more items you earn" However that's not exactly all it does. It actually increases all rewards from battles, including EXP. And that amount of EXP you gain from that gear can get pretty high, making it some of the best gear for leveling up in that version

That store genuinely blew my mind when I first saw it. The fact that there is a store so prestigious and high-end that all of their customers are being treated like lords such that they enter the shopping area by ascending into the heavens and their shopping experience is made as comfortable as humanly (toadly?) possible... If there was ever a shop like that in real life, I'd go just for that alone.
Also, yeah. You just whack Wisdurm a bunch to get her to not trample you. Not the most intuitive attack out there, I know, but it's what works I guess.

9:38 From what I can gather, the Badge Meter starts empty for an X Battle, so Chuggaa landed two Greats. I'll count both as Jump Helmets since the Bros. SP numbers line up. Also, the Super Bouncer here lands a Good, which needs at least four hits.
12:12 Similarly, I'm assuming Mario's fill on his side of the Badge Meter was a Jump Helmet use since the SP lines up.
13:02 If Chuggaa got two Lucky Hits and Mario used a Jump Helmet, but his side of the Badge Meter is still empty, his Jump Helmet landed either OK or Good.

7:13 >> Quite literally a coin toss, since you'd either hit the head or the tail

I like when Tim joins in his positive vibe is enjoyable
24:41
And here we bear witness to Emile achieving the Legendary Super Saiyan transformation.
13:27 You have no idea how inspiring it is to hear that you're also opposed to using the word "hate." It's such a common word nowadays, but I feel like its widespread use has a lot of negative repercussions that are often overlooked.
Good on you for challenging yourself like that. :)
The space-themed wallpaper in the Star Rank shop has always been my favorite. I’d go in there just to look at it!
That pop-off was REAL; I could feel the energy through the screen! Well done Emile and Tim! 😄
Chugga: **didn’t remember that he already did the Bounce Bros endless challenge**
A Toad patient at Dr. Toadley’s clinic: **can’t remember what happens between Plack Beach, and Bowser’s Castle**
_Even _*_MORE_*_ foreshadowing for what’s to come later in this adventure…_
Fawful had better watch out, for we have *bean-come* his greatest threat.
I was today years old when I found out Tim has glasses
1:12 I swear this LP is shaping up to be the funniest on the channel.

The Toad said Luigi first!! That's the first time I've seen Luigi said before Mario when the bros. names are said
When having used up ALL the beans on the Bros, try this arrangement of gear; A-OK wear, DX Pow gloves/boots(alternate able, e.g; Mario with gloves, Luigi with boots or vice versa.) and tight belt.
Consider: Regular Koopa Troopas are shown to be able to remove their shells and wear sleeveless shirts underneath
Perhaps Bowser's shell, too, is a form of clothing/armor and he might be wearing some clothes under there
Or he might be going commando
Bowser r34, you know what to do.
I wonder if Chugga is contractually obligated to use the remake for the final bosses for the Bros and Bowser before THE final boss.
14:45 Oh boy, were going down, down, down the road
Down the Cholesteroad
23:12 also, *demonic Emile noises*
Oh right, we already did Super Bouncer, nevermind
Based Toads, those first two, for addressing Luigi first.
Sorry he could't make it due to abuse in the commuity
@ what are you talking about I’m giving a piece of advice you’re not making any sense of what I said in my comment you’re referring to someone else 👎🏻
@@ResettihatesPeopleCheatStop bothering people you broken record.
If you want to be played for a fool by a Jane Doe account then be my guest. Just know that a lot of people, even Emile, have moved on from that.
@ it’s clickbait & Ragebait People are so arrogant don’t even try questioning them it’s not worth the sanity ❤️😊
14:43 I got a really nice belly chuckle out of this. Quality 'conroy content!
12:20 this sequence of events is just
hilarious to me
Those who don't know: "why does he keeps saying money is hard to come by? He has over 20,000 coins!"
Those who do know: "Best equipment in the game - over 20,000 coins for a single purchase"
Everyone knows: the true title of this game is - Chuggaa & Tim: Bowser's Inner Globin
9:10 advice for that shrinking attack, instead of running away as far as possible and hammering when she gets close, you want to pull out your hammer sooner when there's enough space to prepare, let her approach, and bonk her as usual, way more than two or three times.
13:22 ah.
That pronunciation of "DX " takes me back to the Kirby Triple Deluxe LP where Chugga pronounces "DX" the same way for DX bosses.
Chuggaa: We’re doing multiple challenges!
Tim: *My time has come. Again.*
20:50 Tim just casually dropping bars
I will never cleanse my sight upon witnessing the horror of overly shaved Mario, thanks chugga
So this is where all of the memes of the bros taking down Sephiroth came from
Oh wow. I have never forgotten how much this luxury store for those of Star Rank and higher goes all out to make Mario and Luigi feel like REAL SUPERSTARS. Hope that the second cure will be soon in Emile's grasp.
"Becoming Gods"
By being repeatedly pasted into the ground by a magical anime worm girl.
21:00
stuff like this is why i love this channel
