The long straight stretches must be a little sleep enduring. Great video. Enjoying others on channel

Many thanks for this. I did Peterborough Doncaster via the Joint in April 1991 on a DMU with the blinds up. Superb piece of railway. What a shame that Spalding to Grimsby and March were closed.

Somewhere around 83-84 I was once on a Sunday northbound HST that got diverted this way. I think we had to schlep over from Lincoln Central to St. Marks on foot (admittedly not very far at all) to get our connection to Market Rasen. Definitely a lot more interesting trip than the usual change at Newark. IIRC back then the Cleethorpes-Newark runs were usually either Metro Cammell or Cravens DMUs but occasionally a class 31 with mk.1s would show up. Tks for the vid!

I am curious to know how the sound gets ahead of the visuals on video? is this a process of transferring to digital? or was sound recorded separate to the picture? The reason I ask is that seeing the AWS magnet in the four foot go out of frame or under the train at Peterborough it is out of view, after a while its seen in frame in front of the train before it the trains receiver has passed over it, as we go along the AWS magnet in the four foot progressively ends up further away from the train meaning the sound is either faster than the picture or the picture is slower than the sound, How does this even happen on Video?

It's a transfer problem video to digital, the copy l have had already been transferred to digital with the fault on. I have tried my best to realign sound/picture but not perfect as the the audio seems to "stretch" as time goes by. Still hope you think it was worth posting.

Was this the road that the farmer made network rail use a full-time member of staff to be on a crossing 24/7 when all the rest were upgraded for crossing between his fields.
