Great tips! I've turned off all notifications for social media etc. If I go looking I'll see them but I don't need to know every time someone posts. I use my phone's calendar for appointments, workshops and things I know I will forget without a reminder. I use my phone's notes for other things like shopping lists, gift ideas, travel plans etc.
I use Google Calendar. When I set a reminder like the one you mentioned about cancelling something, I'll include either the steps to complete the task or a link on how to cancel. That way, I don't go through as much of the "I bet it's going to be a hassle/take a long time" thought process.
Just to add, i use my calendar on my android phone. When i have to schedule an appt, there is a section to put in the location. I always use it so when its time for me to go it gives me directions to the location from where ever i am.
I love listening to how you manage the reminders, alarms etc I never really thought I might ignore but I have this will keep me from doing that Thank you so much❣️
I do like your idea of the reminders. It's actually a feature that I barely use. As to alarms, I use t hem every time I do laundry. The sound of the washer and dryer stopping is a tinkly melody. When I'm off doing other things around the house and music is on or I'm vacuuming, I don't hear the melody. So, I set the alarm 10 minutes before the washer's due to stop (I've timed both appliances according to load sizes and heat settings). That way, if I'm in the middle of something, I know I have 10 minutes to finish up before the laundry's done. It works quite well for me.
Great video and I was so happy with the way you shot it. Sometimes I get distracted when you shoot from a different angle and move the camera angle bud you're still looking at the old angle. Hope u understand what I'm speaking of.
I’m so ignore my reminders. Great idea to save money makes more sense than ignoring cancellations. Thanks I needed this. Now to watch more of your videos to learn more.
Awesome!! Thank you Laura. I do a couple of these. My issue is always leaving the house on time to make it to an appointment. I live about an hour away from my doctor's appointments so I always set an alarm for when it's time to leave. I will be using some more of your helpful hints!!
Jocelyn, what I started doing, is to set the appointment time for 30 minutes, or an hour ahead of the actual appointment. For instance, if my appointment is 2:00pm, I set it in my phone for 1:30pm, or 1:00pm, depending on how long it takes me to drive to that appointment. That way, I start getting ready earlier, and actually leave when I need to.
On my IPhone I just set my appointment for the time I should be there. Then I have a standard notification on my appointments to go off at 1 hour prior and 30 minutes prior. Most things are 30 minutes away! I like to be reminded an hour prior because we have missed a few, and it reminds me we need to leave in 30 min. Maybe that will be easier than making a second appointment to tell you to leave!
Thank you for these wonderful ideas. They are going to be immensely helpful to me. I will be starting them immediately. These are ideas and ways to use them that I hadn't thought of.
Setting a reminder or alarm for a “new habit” or “troublesome chore” to get started is good though. I have great intentions each night of “Drink a bottle of water every 2 hrs” but by morning I completely forget! *pathetic but real*. Set an alarm or reminder is a great way to way to START REMEMBERING. Then once I’m in the habit, I’ll change it to something else.
I have had an alarm 4 times a day on my phone and my husband’s phone. Mine are 15 minutes after his. It is his pill times. He has Alzheimer’s and it lets him manage his pills but I will know if he doesn’t and can make sure he does it!!!!
I feed my cats n dog am n change water out mid afternoon n then evening. Then 2 am . I make huge ice cubes for them! My mind tells me what / it’s time in a natural rhythm during the hours thru out the day.! June14-16 2024. Fast. For America.!
Your videos are awesome, but I am more concerned about your weight, as you are at risk for cardiovascular disease. Consider intermittent fasting as it does work. God bless and Godspeed girl!
I love how you break down the descriptions and the times for this video and love the ideas...
