That was just perfect on Grant's part at the end. Who could've even timed that so perfectly? You two are awesome together. Thanks for the harvest video.
at 4:16 that was smooth, throwing Grant under the bus lol, yall are soo funny to watch, the world needs more young people like you
Just found your channel... You two are awesome! Thanks for showing the world where their food comes from and how to be a great, loving and respectful couple that can work together and have fun together.... I am subscribing and following!
Love how well you and Grant work together, Looks like the start of another great farm family.
Those beans could end up in the animal feed I use here in the 🇬🇧 UK. So thank you for your good 🚜 farming.
Watching this makes me happy for you on so many levels. You and Grant are an amazing team! Seeing the harvest come in is resolution to all the weeks prior you and Grant have worked so hard to achieve.
if there was ever a commercial to recruit farmers. would be when Laura said Sign me up in the harvested field! Boi the Luck Grant has...!!! you are his everything!!!! that trailer misstep!!!! could have ended horribly!!! believe me I have seen some pretty dumb things in the trucking industry!! it was nice seeing a beautiful young couple begin their Farming Journey together!!! you are a Bright spot in 2020!!! and that is a wrap!
Wow! Nice video of every aspect of soybean harvest! So cool, but I know how dangerous all that equipment is. Darling, you are so good at what you’ve learned this first year of farming! You and Grant do make a great team. I must say, I am very empresses with how hard you work. Thank you for showing details, slow mo, and terrific angles, so they we can take it all in. Marvelous! 👍❤️🤗
The passion you both have for farming is awesome. We need more young people like yourselves to have the same passion.
@3:05 Yeah you should always crouch down back by the taillights on the truck and look and see if the 5th wheel claw closed all the way around the kingpin. That's a lot more common than you would think.
*Being a city person, (city slicker) LOL, I've always thought of farming life as boring. But watching your videos has given me a whole new prospective on farming. You guys make farm work look fun, interesting and informative. I appreciate all the demos of all the equipment and how the process of harvesting is done. You both make a wonderful couple. And most of all, Keep smiling Laura, because when you smile, I smile too. Y'all be safe and take care. = )*
So cool that you get to spend time harvesting. A good sign of a positive future.
So cool to see the harvest operation, thanks as always for sharing, always a treat, y'all's energy is infectious, keep up the great work.
You should always check to make sure the claws are closed around the king pin. I always give a little tug forward after hooking up.. visually check the fifth wheel handle as well. Never seen those draper headers in action. pretty slick.
There's an old farmer's tale about the thickness of woolly caterpillar's coats indicate if the winter will be cold or mild.
We called those auger carts: Gravity Wagons.
Love it when we can ride along by watching the videos!!👍👊
You 2 are going to be great together and happy to see you both again
Always visually check that the king pin is locked and do a tug test! It could have been worse!🙏🏽😎👍🏼🇺🇸🇷🇼
that's awesome I've always wanted to see whats goes on during harvest time, thanks for sharing and good luck
I have never seen this channel before, But the thumbnail of this "smiling person" got me, and probably many more people interested.
I sub. to "10 gen dairyman" and "Saskdutch kid" (dairy farmers). This seems like another great channel.
Great video!! I love watching harvest time.
I had the opportunity to farm with my father-in-law recently for Corn, and running auger wagon was probably some of the most enjoyable time I've had!
Watching the equipment running is satisfying. It makes me want to jump in and give it a try
Harvest 2020 underway and you are capturing it all. Your videos are getting better and better!
This makes me miss our harvest. I wish we didn’t sell off all our equipment. Thanks for keeping the memories alive Laura!
Boys' State! I was privileged to experience Boys' State in Upstate NY (Colgate University) in the summer of 1964. Life changing. Great to be reminded of it by the Cornhusker Boys State T-Shirt.
The furry caterpillars are moth larva and turn into cocoons. The chrysalis you found in a earlier video was from a butterfly. They typically are smooth skinned as larva. Here's some trivia: the adult form of a larva is called an imago. So the imago of a furry caterpillar is a moth. I don't know why I have this kind of trivia in my head I just do.
What a lovely, informative, fun and happy feel good channel. Farming has never looked so cool. Well done.
Happy harvest!
I love the teamwork. Lots of future to look forward to.
The view from the cab watching the harvester collect is pretty satisfying......👍
I couldn't click this video fast enough! I loved it. Thanks Laura for another great video! Can't wait for the next.......
Love the harvest season. Awesome video guys. 😊🙂
Hey Laura good luck with harvesting!!
I can’t get over the size of those fields.
Great video, thanks. Reminded me of being involved in harvesting when I was a kid.
One thing that sprung to mind when you said "Look at that Draper head" was the short video clip of you at 9-years old trying out the new Draper head!
I love the slo mo beans on the conveyor. Sweet!
Great job Laura. Be safe as always but especially during harvest.
For a few years now we installed autosteer in the cart tractor and cameras on the cart which are wired to the factory plug ins. Shows up on the display. Makes it a little easier
Be careful that ring doesn’t slip off into a bean pile or somewhere else. 😊
I love your channel..i make my teen kids watch it with me to show them what farming community is like ...we live in atlanta and im only 45 but i made the decision to buy a 74 acre farm in tennessee to get my family out of the big city...never farmed before so we are in for an adventure for sure lol
@@robertyoung407 good luck with your endeavour, i always wanted to be a farmer, but ironically i have to move into the city due to mental health issues
@@robertyoung407 living my dream .. good luck !
Gg human uhh uh hi
Forget losing the ring, be more concerned if it takes the finger with it when she does.
really interested to see the mechanics of how it sorts out the beans and the waste, im always impressed by the amount of engineering that is involved with farm equipment.
To me, when it comes to mechanical complexity in the workplace; the combine harvester to the farm is what the photocopier is to the office.
Great vid...love watching you two work the farm. Going to be a power couple in Neb!
What a skillful girl who is not only studying at a university but also farming in those critical days
Great video Laura, lots of information on harvesting
Your happiness is beautiful !
Great video, I hope harvest goes well for your communities! Be well, paul.
You two make me laugh a lot and when Grant said that caterpillar pooped on you with you flinging it off at rapid speed was a totally unexpected reaction. Your best moment yet.
What a lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky man
I have my exams in 3 hours and I am watching Laura farms. Looks like my answers are gonna describe how harvesting is done in her farms and what machines and tools are used. God save me. My exam is on Plant design and process control.
@Epsilon Not the plant that we grow on soil. Plants where reactors and chemical processes occurs. Industrial plants.
@Epsilon A mixture of chemistry, physics, rules and regulations and marketing
@Epsilon exam's over. Went well
Certainly what we've watched here involves plant design and process control. The combine is an item of mobile plant, and if the processes within are not controlled properly then disaster results. On a macroscopic level, the crop-combine-auger wagon-truck-silo combination is a large distributed plant - again, whose interlinking processes must be controlled properly in order to get the crop off the field and into the silo.
@@vk2ig exactly what I wanted to hear!!! I thought no one would get the reference to my exam subject. You have a very good understanding of process control mate.
Good evening Laura! You are really good! You are a business girl! Very, very nice this video! Very good Laura! Have a good evening.
Your videos always make me smile!
Thank you for all thr info & have a great day
nice to see you 2 work together
I've always known them as Bank out wagons. "A bank out wagon is a vehicle, either towed or self-propelled, with a hopper, used to transport grain from a combine harvester to nearby trailers or storage."
Nice way to end my evening! Another nice and interesting video!
Love the new intro, well done. So good to see a new video.
Oh my I rlly like the intro and your social media plug! Keep it up Laura :)
Amazing....learning slot about farming....good job
A very nice job Laura and Grant.
Good luck & you go girl
Keep doing what you are doing girl - the camera absolutely loves you.
Your smile is infectious!
BTW - My family has 10,000+ acres in wheat in eastern Oregon and it's the best life!
Happy harvesting 2020
Cool Beans !! Good Times !!!
My dad had that happen to a semi trailer once though I don’t remember if it fell completely off. The good thing about that one was it had an auto jack stands on it so was easy to fix
You guys were on some nice beans..Well done!
Dude, worst nightmare - trailer coming unhooked from the semi truck.
Luckily it looks like they stopped soon enough. When that front end tips down, thats a problem.
A guy my brother drove with for a trucking company did that once.
A built in refrigerator? That's way better than finding a place in the cab for your thermos and lunchbox, which inevitably fell out of the cab at least once a day. But at least we had a cab. Our dads talked about the days of driving combines that didn't have them.
i am a 80s Kid and the Technology of Farming is Fascinating
In Minnesota we call the Auger wagon a chaser bin
Amazing!
Been hauling heavy equipment for over a decade now. One of the worst things is to have a trail come unhooked. Also that ending was priceless!
Outstanding keep up
The good work combine
Great video!
When a caterpillar craps on you, it's a sign of a good harvest.......(I just made that up, but let's start the 'old wives tale'!......😁)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year From Washington Court House, Ohio
That sucks that your trailer fell off of the semi!! But luckily it didn’t rip the cords out!!! We see it all the time in Ohio.
Good to see ya on a video 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video Laura
Harvest time is the best time
I love your inro cartoon!
Grain cart tractor and the new combine are so cool! View from the combine cab is amazing! Tech is sooo freakin' awesome! Soybeans look SO different... so brown and emaciated. You cleaned out the boot pit... think you can handle a little caterpillar pooh. : )
Really coolh, very interesting video. Nice work! : )
Keep up the good work Lour
I play Farming Simulator on my Xbox and riding the combine harvester is my favourite thing to do :-D Haha!
And Grant can read your mind! :-P
Love your channel! Thanks for sharing! Great content!👍
"That's all folks..." love it....go bugeaters
Pretty cool. What a couple of sweeties you are.. Admiration and envy.
Woaaah.
Gotta extra appreciate people who are putting 4k videos up for us.
I know it's recorded from phone, which is not any near the quality of the profesional 4k cameras like RED Dragon, but it's like 10 times better than 1080p.
I actually feel like i'm in 2020
Those are some pretty cool vehicles
Wow! Yall bean yield is higher than what some of our corn fields yielded where alot of it got too much water!
I can't decide which I like better the grin or the giggle
Either way you are a special young lady
Could you do an equipment tour of either your farm or Grant's please! I love to see what equipment people have.
Love the videos
Awesome video 💕
Awesome video
Greetings to the beautiful Laura from Poland
Dropping a trailer happens to pro drivers , too. Luckily, you just dropped it on the frame, which is usually an easy fix, but, if you drop it off the frame, then really bad things happen. Lesson learned; always check your fifth wheel and make sure the release arm is locked in and still do a pull test. Make that a habit and avoid the really bad things, which includes calling out a really expensive big boy wrecker. Like the channel.
Dropping a trailer is definitely a scary ordeal. Can happen to anyone. I did it. Knocked all the lines and hoses off a dump trailer. He got lucky and caught it before it dropped off the frame. Ever since then, I've always popped under the trailer to visually confirm the kingpin is secure in the 5th wheel latches.
Always check to see if your 5th wheel is locked. Once I was in a rush and pulled always from a trailer with the air hose still attached and destroyed the air hoes (that was embarrassing). But you live and you learn..
Your eyes are so pretty!!
1:18 Laura, you were completely fooled by the baby mice wearing caterpillar suits...
