This game is so underrated, it's totally unique, and incrediblly fun
Paraylized Pug Plays Agreed, one of my favourite games of the generation and my favourite game last year, which is saying a lot since 2017 was one of the best ever years for gaming! What a game this is

It's underrated because they added lootboxes on launch so it lost a lot of hype. They removing them now because they probably not making much money off them now and trying to be the "good guys" by removing them.

DefinitelyNotKisa WB is responsible for the lootboxes, I’m sick of publishers tarnishing the public image and the success of talented, hard working developers - throughout Shadow of War you can feel the incredible care and attention that Monolith put into building a high quality game, but most people will never see that because they only look at it from the outside and see WB’s microtransactions
They should make a 3v3 pit battle... and friend pit battles

This is how you fucking do it. Give people a chance to try it for free, then bring your favorite set of guys to your main game if you do like it. (Within your Garrison as it's known now no doubt) Even if they are not the be all, end all, some of your orc's charm is worth their weight in *gold* .

The Tower is back....kind of, They have a guy that has imaginary friends, but it's still funny, a bard to sing me a tune and even a drunk guy, still looking for one myself.

Storm Well to tell you the truth, it's mostly physics type ones, but it's usually not too much of a problem.
Most of the time it can look like you just made a field goal with an orc sometimes. Of course it's hyperbole, but it does not make it any less funny.
There are times where you might not climb something properly, but you're more likely to see a Caragor (the dog things) fly of an edge like a frisbee more likely.
If you check out TearofGrace on here (RUclips) you'll see what I mean.
There is also a guy that attacks my "Hospital" if you look up my channel name to see a fortress assault that I set up.
The new (and free) update is fantastic, loving what they added. I wish this game got the ratings and recognition it deserves. The Nemesis system is amazing.
this is one of those rare games where you get to do everything shown in the trailer 10\10. With the new content they added yesterday, 15\10

Dear Monolith, I really enjoy this game and the previous title. Preordered the gold edition of shadow of war and I'm taking my very sweet time in completing it, think I'm about 70% completed the base game. I know what the ending is for the base game and 1st expansion. You sequel bait us hard, please make this sequel, I'm quite interested in this universe and certain gameplay mechanics of this franchise. And would buy the next installment instantly. Keep up the great work.

There have been lots of Middle Earth games developed over the years. Technically I started with the Lego The Hobbit game and worked my way up. I played a few minutes of the demo of Middle Earth: Shadow of War and ended up absolutely LOVING it! Can't wait to get the full game!
PS: I am currently saving up money for Resident Evil 6, which in my opinion is the BEST ONE in the ENTIRE series.

I'll be honest, This probably would have been a better marketing strategy before the game's release, but that doesn't mean that this is a bad idea now.

Are there new voices? That Olog in the first 6 seconds sounds a lot different than the current ones.

But they removed player choice? How is that a good thing. I'll miss all the micro-transactions and p2w things that made the game truly unique. It gave us choice to spend more money or not spend money on a game we bought for $60(or more...).
It's hard to understand the gaming community,one day they cry because the microtransactions,the next day they praise a game with microtransactions,these things should be stomped in the ground no matter how good the game is. (and yea,i understand the sarcasm)
I'm guessing you didn't actually play Shadow of War and you're just repeating what you've heard from your favorite internet drama personality, right? If you did you would have known that there was absolutely no point in purchasing anything extra as the game always gave you more resources than you ever needed, and even if you did want to purchase loot boxes you could still do so with in-game currency, or earn them through in-game challenges, or through online missions. There was never any moment where you didn't have a choice.
The reason Monolith removed the loot boxes (ALL of them, not just the paid ones) from SoW is because they interfered with the nemesis system interactions, just like Bethesda removed console commands in Fallout 4's survival mode because it interfered with the difficulty setting. Just because something is a player choice doesn't meant it still can't negatively impact a game and that it doesn't have to be removed under certain circumstances.

Not realy. I bought golden edition and finished having fun without spending a dime. The lootboxes didn't feel forced at all.
Just think of how successful this game would have been were it not hamstrung by a couple of reviewers that made such a fuss about the entirely pointless microtransactions in it. The entire "controversy" was vastly overblown from the very beginning as you never needed to purchase anything extra to enjoy the game or to be able to progress through it...but internet outrage never listens to reason.

Is said your progress will carry over to the full game but the description only says the warlord. Will i be able to continue where i left off or just the warlord. Just finished SOM and am waiting to get paid lol.
Should implement the overlords speech after you conquer a fortress like in the gameplay reveal trailer. Alot of the stuff in that trailer should've shown up in the game that trailer had been the coolest thing I'd seen in a while and had made me hyped. Though I love the game it could've been better like it looked in the gameplay reveal.

Anyone that has any respect for themselves should not buy a singleplayer game that has microtransactions. At least Monolith realized they made a mistake (although they were probably forced to put them into the game by WB).
Hippie they were forced for starters and if any game had micro transaction I wouldn't care unless it effected tge way you play the game or stopped your progress untill you pay.

I seriously can't understand the gaming community,how can you support a game with shady practices?Look at all these positive comments,i understand,it is a good game but they basically stab the community in the back while giving them a cake to eat.You are begging them for more microtransactions in future fully priced single player games.They remove the lootboxes after almost a year,ofc they would remove them now,they already profited from them and it's a good PR and Marketing move to remove them after so long and look like the "good guy" who cares for the community.Shame on everyone who supports these practices.
There are so many things wrong with this comment. Firstly, people support the game, not the "shady practices". Secondly those "shady practices" were absolutely pointless in this game as you never needed to purchase anything extra. Thirdly, the supposed impact that buying this game will have on future games isn't really a valid reason to criticize it. Fourthly, microtransactions are unfortunately an industry standard by now and this game is not the first to introduce them in a singleplayer game. Fifthly, Monolith did care about this community as they continuously supported this game with frequent patches, updates and free content. Sixthly, they actually removed the ability to purchase loot boxes from this game more than two months ago, so so much for this being a "PR move".

Why now?
The main thing that deterred see from the game when it was at the pre release stage was the emphasis they were putting on sieges. Each teaser/playthrough involved storming a stronghold and I felt that is all the game had to offer. I still haven't gotten it but my understanding is that's exactly what the game is, with a little more customization and nemesis features, really too bad :/
No it's not. The majority of the game is done outside of sieges. They are just the biggest new element of the game, that's why they showed so much of it.
The sieges are generally what the game builds up to but they are most definitely not ALL the game has to offer. The emphasis of this series has always been on the Nemesis system and it's unique A.I. interactions and the sieges are merely an extension of this as they are one way to use that system to create even more interactions by giving you something to use your army against.
Wait. So even though this is set just in Nurn. Can you still hunt captains and warchiefs just for fun.

You get them by finishing each of the shadow wars stages(Epilogue missions, ACT4 I think?)

The demo ends after taking the fort, but if you never attack the fort, you can play the demo as much as you want.

I wanted to ask you how many prestige points there are for skill and at what level can the equipment arrive now? maximum 80? also applies to swords broken by Olog?
If I am aware swords broken by olog go up to lvl90 the rest is 80 max, and amount of skillpoints you can get is infinite.
I'll pick up the Ultimate / GOTY Edition as soon as it comes out!

The best part of the game are all the personalities and interactions with the orcs/uruks.
