J.R. probably felt at home. All the furniture in the house was supposedly used Southfork furniture that had been in storage, Miss Ellie shipped it when she bought Gary and Val the house.
When they did the 1997 reunion movie '"Back To The Cul-de-Sac", I noticed the set designer made the foyer bigger in Gary & Val's house and moved the stairs back a few feet. In the series they always looked way too close to the door. They also made the living room and kitchen all level instead of a step down.They should have made those corrections during the series run to make the Ewing home more spacious like in the reunion.
J.R. throughout the entire episode rubs it in Gary and Val's face they have that nice house because Mama paid for it. It's weird and hilarious that Val is giving J.R. refreshments even though she hates him. Like making him coffee, iced tea, a tuna fish sandwich.

Gary acted like he knew what he was talking about and got the crowd rallied up, and then JR's flunkie reported back to JR that there was this guy stirring up trouble at the meeting. also with the last name Ewing. lol....JR really came to town not to visit, but to really warn and threaten Gary and Val to not make trouble for his California oil deal. They probably did it to boost ratings, because I think this is the 2nd or 3rd episode of KL, season 1. Bobby Ewing made a brief appearance in the pilot episode.
