      I agree plus the price of the lg nano cell is half of the price of samsungs qled 80t
      and it only has 2.0 hdmi ports rather than the new 2.2 ports for those who like gaming at higher fps.

    Hello Tech Giant,
    Nice review but there's something that misleads the outcome. I recommend you not to compare Vivid vs Dynamic mode because there's 2 completely different implementations from brands.
    Samsung uses Dynamic Mode to brighten the picture as much as possible but LG oversaturates the colors and every one of them are clipping and second thing is that LG uses Dynamic Contrast to High in this mode which white levels are all clipped too. The best mode you could compare it is Natural and Standard mode. I have both brands in my home.

    Many are saying that the qled is not good but I can see multiple shades on the grass which is not present in nanocell. Lg shows every thing green but samssung shows the whitish parts of the grass clearly because of the high contrast ratio.

    I recently had that LG tv and returned for the below Samsung as the LG picture kept washing out, detail through normal sources was poor more often than not, watching in a dark room was terrible and no matter how much you played with the settings the blacks were extremely poor and were more grey than black but Samsung was near perfect out the box. Made a couple adjustments to the settings and the picture is perfect, extremely detailed, no motion blur and couldn’t be happier

    LG looks much better to me in this video. Makes sense that the Samsung would have better blacks since it is a VA panel vs. IPS for the LG. I ordered the U.S. version of the LG (different stand). I plan to use mainly as a PC monitor with an RTX 3080 when they become available. I have watched several video's on the new Nanocell and most seem positive

    Samsung has got a lot to do to regain its high contrast high colour crown. It has become so determined to push 8k that it really has dropped the ball. Since 2018 it is argueable that samsung have taken steps backward on contrast levels and deep colour. Time to wake up concentrate on what people want and get back to the kind of premium products we expect from this company. Good comparison tech giant.

    LG really surprised me. Just a year ago I preferred the QLED which I purchased and loved it. Still do..love the saturation and black levels...however nanocell is really advanced not relying on a filter sheet for picture enhancement. I'm actually regretting not buying a nano now. It was also much cheaper. I see LG using this tech for 8k in the near future if it isn't already.

    It is all about IPS vs. VA-Panel. Samsung switched from IPS to VA-trash in 2017, in order to save costs. Ever since that, their models are not worth buying anymore. Washed out, colourless, bad viewing angles and so on. Problem: The daily customer does not notice how bad a VA-Panel is, untill they are presented an IPS-Display right next of it. For this reason, as clearly visible in this video, LG is all the way to go.

    • @Fatmouse25
      @Fatmouse25 2 года назад

      Go watch the night time comparison on this channel. The nano ips unusable. IPS is like a shower when presented in optimal scenarios, then falls apart when you ask it to be a more dynamic display, night time or dark scenes will cause it to be unwatchable. Nm the local dimming, pairing it with 1,000:1 contrast IPS is useless, 4,000-8,000 contrast VA with good LD is sublime sans oled. Samsung went for IPS for this reason is cheaper for the lower models. Check qn90 vs OLED, a proper VA qled with LD that goes at it. Q60 is poor example for VA it's low end, tcl makes much better va at that price. Sorry just had to say it don't want people being duped, with LG it's oled or bust.

    I have owned both. Lg looks pretty stunning in bright scenes and colors are amazing, impressive. But then its dark scenes are not good. Light bleed from panel, and very little details in the blacks. A lot is lost in the dark scenes. Local dimming is so terrible it ruins the tv. It should not be a feature in this tv. Although samsung is a little less punchy in the bright scenes overall it is the more dynamic tv with better picture due to larger contrast range and decent blacks with detail.

You can turn this off but then you essentially loose one of features you are paying for in the T.V. I am not a T.V. expert but I found the LG Punchier with vivid colours especially in bright rooms. If you can live with the zone lights making bars of light down your screen (mostly noticeable in very dark rooms). Samsung had more natural and uniform colours. No local dimming but also no bars of light running down the screen. Neither were great for HDR. LG did have the bonus of Dolby Vision and HDR, Samsung just HDR(+).

    Nanocell wins this one. I have a 2021 Nano 90, the setup is a pain in the ass but man once you get it setup it looks amazing. They always get so-so reviews from tests but real world watching they are a win.

    LG looks better to me. I like the contrast and colors better, the QLED is too bright it washes the colors out and strains your eyes. I don't wanna look at that bright of a screen when I play my PS4 Pro for 4-5 hours.

    I just came back from a store after seeing the LG nanocell on a 65-inch screen.
    now I'm a bit confused. because the one I saw has an IPS screen. and it has a very impressive picture. in a sense look better than Samsung Qled Q70. however, I noticed that the thickness of the TV was large.
    but the price was 700$. (I don't remember the model number)
    now the only TV that really impressed me was the Samsung Q950. 65 inch which in my opinion a better picture than an Oled TV. (has an Outstanding picture)
    The problem is it's 1700$. and it does come with a one connect box. which is a Huge Plus.
    there is no huge difference between the Samsung Q60-Q70-Q80. accept for the price.

      Yeah i did notice it but just put it down to the settings it was in.
      Didn't bother to concentrate or adjust those settings as the test was more about the viewing angles and brightness 🙂

    High brightness destroys colors, Samsung has unnecessarily much brightness, LG still has natural colors and more accurate detail, Samsung loses a lot in angles, Nano technology is closer to Oled, qLED builds on high brightness that destroys colors and their range, less detail, Samsung still lags behind.

      What about the Samsung q60? Isn't it NOT full array? No local dimming zones?

    • @tomatobrush3283
      @tomatobrush3283 3 года назад +1

      @@drummerjstone That is a good point, it is difficult to work out from Samsung specs because they do not offer the required detail. Assuming this is the q60t 2020 model I found this snippet in an article.
      "It is also one of Samsung's first TVs with 'Dual LED'; "a system of dedicated warm and cool LED backlights enhance contrast details" as well as colors, the company said. This is not to be confused with zone dimming LED, which is reserved for the more expensive models."
      So you may be right, the q60t has duel LED system and not zone dimming LED. It is always difficult to tell with Samsung though. As they tend to be unclear in their marketing. I have no idea how many back lights the q60t has but I don't think it is edge lit like the nano 80.
      In some ways the QLED seems more like OLED, in that the LEDs have both dark and light LEDs.

    LG looks far better. Better colour rendition, better contrast, better viewing angle, and user friendly interface. It is cheaper than Samsung. Samsung Qleds are far more hyped and more expensive. Not worth it. Come down from the high horse Samsung or TCL and Hisense will bring you down.

      because the q 60 has only 60 hz and the nano 86 has 120 hz samsung has only 120 hz ind their 55 and + zoll tvs i got a nano 86 but i got hte issue that the black colors doesnt seem to seperate very well so if you play, some objekts ore skins tones get swollowed and you loose track of it . but the tv lookjs pretty well with non dark colors
