    You guys have done an amazing job with your business. Please continue to be upfront about the expenses related to the coffee business. With first five year failure rates topping out at 74%, people need to be aware of the risks. We, like you work 16 hour+ days six days a week, and just 8 on Sundays. Our town is half your size, and we both have full time jobs away from the coffee shop. You need to be committed to this. Your geography, and demographics will also play a big part in your success or failure.

      Thank you! We agree that it needs to be very clear about what expenses and challenges people will face when wanting to start their own coffee shop (or business in general). We absolutely feel you pain on the long days. Those are so challenging. Hang in there!

    At about 7:30 in the video you mentioned that it could be something you do as a side hustle on the weekends. Is that possible? That's ultimately what I'm trying to figure out right now because I'm already self employed but I would love to have another source of income that I can work for special events or weekends. I would really love to hear your advice here. Thanks!

    Sorry for so many questions :) one if the things you mentioned was buying your ice to save money in the beginning start up. What did you keep that ice in?

    • @isweatglitterjh
      @isweatglitterjh 2 года назад

      Probably ice chests in the back of the pickup they used to tow the trailer. Possibly along with a generator and other extras.

    We have an opportunity to buy a trailer that has an espresso machine included. It is in another state and we are in Washington state planning on moving to Oklahoma. The machine is a 1998 Vinatage Astoria 3 group that has been descaled and detailed this year. They said it works perfect. Makes me a little nervous not starting out with a new machine but it would be a great help financially in the beginning.

    • @PressOnMobileCoffee
      @PressOnMobileCoffee 3 года назад +2

      Astoria's are like the Toyota's of espresso machines. Very reliable. The age worries me a little but if you're able to test it out before buying then I would feel ok. Make sure the machine has never seen freezing temperatures. Sometimes you can tell by the needle on the pressure gauge... it will sit below zero when the machine is off I believe. Hope that helps!

    Where can you store the trailer though? Are there designated areas to store it safely at night?

    • @funtrepreneurs
      @funtrepreneurs  4 года назад +1

      Sarah SS definitely a con! You can rent storage spaces for RV’s and that could work! If you have a shop or a large garage that’s another option. It is definitely something that you need to consider before you go this route!

    when I added up what I'd need for power (for a coffee cart, not a trailer) I was thinking about a 6,000 W generator. Do you think you'd need more power than that for: fridge, ice maker, espresso machine, grinder and blender?

    • @marcusg5665
      @marcusg5665 Год назад

      okay.. i just saw you did a 15K generator. wow.. that's a hell of a trailer!

    Looking at how little caesars is model having no place to sit lowers cost along with meaning customers with go in and out higher volume. Pair that with a limited menu and you have a high volume business model. The hard part for me is account for total cost of drinks.

      Hey Emilee! Thanks so much for your input! It all depends on what espresso machine you are choosing to operate with. Each machine pulls different amperage. We always say that we only can share our knowledge and experience. The machines we run at all our shops along with the AC units, blenders, and the ice makers will require high amperage. Totally awesome if you can make it work with less! It was not feasible for us! Have an amazing day!

    • @OmarIbnFazel
      @OmarIbnFazel 3 года назад

      @@funtrepreneurs so for all that amperage you mentioned, about 150, what specific generator did you find that can handle the job? Do you know how many kW you needed to support all appliances?
