Really interesting (to me) watching this video I focused in on the legs of the riders. What an education watching their knees work the balance and control.
I rode a trail to the Wheeler Monument but it was out of Lake City. Pretty cool formations. Looked like the top got knocked off a volcano. The ride you took looks like such a long, amazing DH. Love those high altitude rides you do.
Dang. We did quite a bit of trails in Breckenridge last week! I am going to have to check some of these top of mountain down trails out. That was a good line of trails!
Ha! Kept my high elevation ride series going with a fatbike up Boreas Pass in Breck last wknd. Wheeler Trail looks good, need to hit that sometime.🤙🏻 Maybe Rollins Pass or Mammoth Gulch this wknd.
I would love to see you come to the southeast and ride Brevard, Pisgah and Dupont National forest area. Also we have 2 gnarly bike parks that you'd like. Windrock in Tennessee and Baily in North Carolina.
Well sir....i have learned a valuable lesson. Altitude needs to be respected! It kicked my ass, I did everything wrong !! Im going again, but half as high first. In my mind , I am still young and invincible . It is the only place . Be safe bud!
Hey Nate the Great..I might be wrong but I might have skied some of that terrain.... To be honest it looks more fun to ride on a bike..Breck's terrain was a bit to vanilla for me
Hey Nate, after watching your videos I'm very interested in getting a mountain bike, but I'm unsure whether my ankle will permit it. I started road cycling as it was one of the only sports my arthritic ankle would allow (a surgeon messed it up during a surgery), and I love it. How much strain would you say mountain biking puts your ankle under? Do the bikes have so much suspension that the impact is always soft or is there a substantial impact? Thanks!
Yo bro, we climbed peak 9 to Wheeler and descended to Spruce Creek and Burro. Classic Breck loop- webmap.onxmaps.com/backcountry/map/query/39.4610956,-106.0693963/overview?id=cc94e3ac-8fb8-5790-847e-e2c20f8e6f6d
Gotta ask: What bike(s) does James ride? Flats or clips? Is his non-profit still doing well? Did you guys ride non-stop down the trail or take some breaks? Great vid as always.......keep 'em comin'!!!!
I think he is on a Hightower. James always rides flat pedals and he is still in business. haha. We stop here and there to enjoy the surroundings and clean my camera lens.
Hey Nate do you have any tips for riding extremely loose terrain and preventing front wheel washout? Out here In the Eastern Canadian Rockies there's not a single trail without marble/baseball rocks.
Yo Nate. I’m about to buy a SB150. However I’m stuck. I’m 5’10 in a half. 165lb. Should I go medium or large?? I’m in between sizes on Yeti’s size chart. I currently ride a Large Santa Cruz.
Nate Hills : A footage captured in both POV and drone stands 2nd to none. Not one person can carry out the project but it really attracts audiences, IMO.
@@natehills9388 cool thx. Ive got a t2 150 with bbinfinite bottom and axs in the works now as my next build. Bunch of guys telling me to do a 130lr instead but i already have a mid travel bike and need more bike for steep gnar trails
It's crazy to watch James how he can get nice air of nothing, its kind of easy to understand but to watch how is body reacts in some situations is crazy, he can bends in spots what normal person lost it after first 10 months of life, is he artificial intelligence ?!? Great fast riding, thank you , cheers V!
It's been a few videos since I made a James comment so I figured I was overdue. I've never seen anyone ride who looks so completely out of control and in complete control at the exact same time. I watch him Plinko down a trail and think oh this is for sure the time he goes down, but then with his bike sideways from bouncing off a baby head, he'll just boost a double off of nothing, skid turn and keep right on going. It makes my brain hurt and I could watch it all day long.
Where are you riding this weekend?
Malibu, CA bikepacking trip!
Crested Butte!
Davos switzerland🤘
In Indian Streets😂😂
Santa Cruz, CA!
Really interesting (to me) watching this video I focused in on the legs of the riders. What an education watching their knees work the balance and control.
Wow.. What a amazing trail.. Single track, Rock Gardens, DH... Perfect!!
The best!
Let her buck indeed! Looks like the zeb saved the day. That downhill just went on forever and just got faster and faster. Too much fun!
Some places look like the alps! beautiful ride, beautiful followcamfriday as usual, GG

Singletrack into the Wheeler Monument has been designated Wilderness area now. I was probably the last person that rode that trail.
Love starting my weekend to this!
Getting you in the mood.... haha

Love the audio when Nate gets excited!
Peeking
did this same route for the first time on monday at about 1/2 the speed haha love it!
Will be in Breck for two days next week, may have to check this one out!
Damn it, Nate... All of these Colorado videos make me want to move there!
Don’t, it sucks
Nick it's a terrible place. Check out California instead
Don't let the crusty locals scare you away... haha
It looks better than it is, Frisco Bike park is awesome but the rest of the trails here have nothing on Bellingham or Squamish.
Wicked ride!
So rad. And I wish I had James’ balance and style on a bike. It’s like an extension of his legs.
7:42 Love seeing the wild Colorado Poop Bag in its natural element! They're a rarity these days!
I see more masks on the ground than poop bags lately. The poop fairy has been busy.... hahaha
@@natehills9388 Haha now we just need the mask fairy to step it up
Who leaves poop in a bag on a trail? Better yet, who’s pooping in a bag?

Would really like to ride there. Awesome looking trails!
Your videos are great!
I took a drink for every "yeah". 2 things happened; I got drunk and y'all shredded.
I like your strategy.

Sick video, sick trail 🤘
Love Your Videos, Man!!
I love this trail. I wouldn't mind if you uploaded a ride on it every year
This is our first time riding this bit. Definitely won't be the last.
Just superb.

Sweet trails - nice.
I am a biggest fan of this sport I like your doing those extreme tricks. How is your thrill on those wheels??
Incredible!
Can’t wait to do this one! What ever happened to the video of Seth following you in Moab. I can’t find that video anywhere.
Another nice trail

It's all in the mind. Age and elevation are just things. ha
@@natehills9388 yep I'm 57 , still ride park and climbed Mt Rainer a few years ago
Had to take a break so I could comment on this footage. Insanely rad definitely sum of best post Coronavirus on YT. Thanks for sharing 🎉🎉👏👏👍👍👍👍👍💪💪

The flattest ski runs make for the best riding.
Likely my fav vid for various reasons 🤘🏼
Me encantan tus vidios
Peak 8 lift closed this year. Sucks. Any tips for getting to some Trails like wheeler to descend back into/near Breck town?
Pedal access is open.
Nate Hills thanks. Went up there yesterday and up here all week. :-) lots of trucks coming up the access road
Sick... Vid bro...👍👍

Hard to say. Maybe you can try one and see if it works for you.

Where can I start this trail ? Looks awesome
Hello bro I'm from Mexico but now I'm visiting a friend in Breck and I'm a big fan of your videos, is there any chance to get the full route?

Yeah!
What espresso machine do you have? Do you like it?
I have a Breville Dual Boiler and an Oracle. My DB just died after 10 years. I would buy another.
Surprised you went that away instead of the other direction downhill.
Geile Tour .. wie immer 🤘🏼
Hello Nate, do you mind saying if you use a tyre insert? If yes which one, please? Thank you!
I don't run inserts.
that was fun 🤙🎯
Amazing job! Did you shuttle or ride up?

Don't use your front brake.
So close to 200k!!!!!!!
what is James steed of choice for these epic rides?
I may be wrong but I think that is a Hightower.
I climbed up Wheeler last year, definitely the wrong way to do it 🤣Just finally became a Patron 🍻
Thanks for the support! Yup, Wheeler is a reasonable brutal climb. I did it last week for the first time. Ouch.
how does he bound so effortlessly, is he just a few lbs more than the bike? please sensi, teach us....
Skills for days! Legend, that James.
Lol, I did that trail the opposite 2 weeks ago heading to Frisco! Talk about hike a bike!
I did it that way last week too. Solid climb.

almost 200k subs!
I live in Colorado im getting my mountain bike fixed up, u know good places for beginners?
Yea boyz!
Dig the hi mountain epics...
Ridin the pine for a few weeks. Broken.....🐕
Heal up!!
where did you start from Copper?
We started on the breck side. Copper works too.
Did you shuttle this? Perfectly doable on a 130mm full sus?
I think he said “yeahhh” but I’m not quite sure.
Could someone confirm for me?
Breckenridge ! My race “Breck Epic” got cancelled this year due to Covid 😭
Mountain biking is not cancelled. Enjoy!
Nate Hills : You didn’t use a drone this time. Breck doesn’t allow a drone ??
@@canmtb4676 Do you prefer the drone footage over POV?
@@natehills9388 I sometimes like to see both, then we can see your body position on the bike while you ride over certain different features.

James is the only rider Ive seen that can get 3 feet of air from a 4 inch root.

Sb130 in that vid?
