That trig point at around 10 mins looked remarkably like Holly Hill in Kent. Mainly from where the table was positioned by the viewpoint. Great fun video. I’ve been bagging a few trig points in my localish area in Kent.
Belatedly found this delightful video today, from a link in your newsletter Alastair. What a brilliant idea, nicked from another decent chap (Semi-Rad) and perfectly put together on film. Just what I needed. I'm going to look at my 7 summits and do this with my son. Thank you!
"Must be the altitude!"😂😂😂 This was too much fun!👍👍👍 Please do more narrated videos, I loved your "Bothy nights" film, too! Sooo good. I am also gonna look for my seven summits.👌 Greetings from Germany ❤
Well done Alistair - we’ve been big fans of yours ever since you stayed with us in Peru on your ride around the world. This is another creative adventure and we love your style! Keep doing these please!!
Great video and idea! I'm now luck I have actual summits very nearby but it would have been a great inspiration for a while back when I wasn't so lucky.
I watched @semi_rad’s video the day it came out, and now I’ve watched yours, too. Both are brilliant! I considered briefly doing something similar: summit the seven tallest peaks that I can see from my driveway. Unfortunately for me, that’s more than 42,000 ft of total elevation gain (13,000 meters) if I were to return home after each one, and even stringing them together, it would be more than 8,000 meters. I’ll have to do a bit of training first ;) It’s nice to live in the mountains of the American west, but I’m not as young as I used to be…
Since the day I stumbled across your microadventure book, I've had so many great little adventures close to home. Above all, there were great wilcamping trips. Thank you!
This is excellent. Loved the blackberry bit! It reminded me of watching you in wonder as you wolfed down jam with a spoon to get your blood sugar up in Germany heh heh
@@al_humphreys I've had to move back to the UK for my sins. Making a video game and living next to the Peaks District so life's not all bad. We'll have to get the band back together. D's just moved to Cornwall!!
Excellent! This has sent me into a wormhole of checking my local 7 summits. The map I have doesn't seem to show all the trig points (Landranger 95) so I've discovered OS have an archive of them... the hunt for a route continues.
Great video and great idea to explore local.🎉 Going to find my 7 local summits. Does a bridge over the railway count. It's the highest point in the city!! 😂
Thouroughly enjoyed this video… 👍😃 I’ve been stuck in my OS map since watching it the other day… Thanks for the inspiration 👍 I want to read your new book! Where can I buy it!? “I’ll bivvy here…” 😂🤣
Absolutely delightful short film! Can you, Al, or any other knowledgeable English person explain this seven summits thing to me, as I am an American and we have no such fabulous designations here? Are these all over the U.K.? Can there be more or less than seven? The concrete structures serve no other purpose than as a marker? Thanks!
They are called 'trig points ' and there are thousands across Britain. They were used for making the first accurate maps of the country. These days they are essentially obsolete novelties.
@@al_humphreys 🙈 Could have been even more impressive if I lived in the Netherlands... 6/12 provinces highest points are less than that... The highest point in Flevoland is 8.3m...
Hello Alastair, I was wondering if it's feasible to maintain a work-from-home job while cycling around the world. Is this something that could be realistically achieved?

Hope you enjoyed your 10 cups of tea

Loved that! Really put a smile on my face. Loved the original too!
FANTASTIC so glad you published that

Google led me to a map of all UK trig points
a tougher challenge for Sheffelders! great concept (depending on how one defines neighbourhood radius )
I'd love you to give it a try and let me know how it goes...
But Sheffield is like Rome, it’s renowned for being built on 7 hills! Sounds ideal. I live here and will figure out the 7 summits for an adventure 😊
GREAT! Please let me know as I'm sure there are plenty of Sheffield folk who'd be up for it (eg @pauljones5066)@@SteveGarner1964

Your railway bridge is probably higher than my roadside mountain-top...
Hooray! It's called "Local". Dammit, that's perfect.
🎉
Just what I was thinking! Looking forward to it.
Started my 7 yesterday - Woodbury Trig 176m
Nice! Have you done any more?
Loved it, Al! Also: That seems like a pretty big day?
Less than 40 miles!
Hello Alastair,
Cool idea, I’ll have a think about my 7 summits, thank you
Take care
Paul,,
I'd love to hear about your own Seven Summits plan...
Great video and inspirational book, currently enjoying it on Spotify.
Come canoeing on the Medway, see the 7 peaks of the estuary 😃
Great fun. Did you determine your neighbourhood as your one map?
Yes, exactly that.
Thouroughly enjoyed this video… 👍😃
I’ve been stuck in my OS map since watching it the other day…
Thanks for the inspiration 👍
I want to read your new book!
Where can I buy it!?

The book will be available in a couple of months. Are you going to tackle your own 7 summits? I hope so!
excellent work as always 🙂
Thank you!
Alastair Bravo!
Love it you wish guy.
I might steal the idea from you that you stole from Brandan!
Cheers,

I live in Northern Belgium... Highest point in my province is 50m... Yes, you read that correctly 🤣
Haha! Then I would love to see you conquer that summit... and also the six that are even less impressive!
