Love The Cranberries, this song seemed to be in a lot of late 90’s/00’s movies. Not complaining. The movie Safe Passage also another one. That movie seems like one that doesn’t get talked about much same with Jack the Bear.
Once I read a story about a butterfly on the subway and today I saw one I got on 42nd and off of 59th where I assumed it went to Bloomingdale's to buy a hat that would turn out to be a mistake because most hats are
She gets mad that a big chain runs her out of business and yet she gets her coffee from a big chain instead of a small, independent café. A little hypocritical imo.
depends on what is nearby. Not every person has a independent café nearby to grab coffee. its all about what you live near. I live near a dash-in store with good coffee for 2 bucks, that's where I buy it. If it was a Starbucks instead of a dash-in, i'd be buying 3 dollar coffee instead. If it was a mcdonalds, id be buying 1 dollar coffee every day. Just the way it is. No "independent" cafe's anywhere nearby.
"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make 6 decisions just to buy a cup of coffee. Short… tall… light… dark…nonfat… So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on Earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee, but an absolutely defining sense of self. Tall… decaf… cappuccino!"
Are you an asshole whole or trying to be an asshole this film was released more than 20 years ago, that time everything will be at a lower price than now...
omg ive been to nyc 4 times and each time i go to the location from this movie, best romantic movie of all times, i was 8 when i saw it for the firts time
As a Starbucks manager, hearing Tom Hanks narrate about “you too can get a cup of coffee for just $2.95” made me very sad. Some of our drinks cost almost $8 now with no customizations or additions. Just standard default drink. Quickly approaching ten dollars.
15 years ago I would go to Starbucks a couple of times a week. Then I discovered what real espresso drinks were like. Then I didn't go to Starbucks anymore.
I really miss this full of life and optimistic America in the late 90's and early 2000. Still smell the roasted coffee and fresh bakery down the street.
which is histerically funny is the poor man painting the " coming soon" sign. and he paints really well. i mean i don't think he's a painter but an artist LOL
You know, I thought the food was very bad and then only frequented Cafe Coffee Day after that. Should have tried out the other stuff at Starbucks when I had the chance. I actually like coffee and have always wanted to try a caramel macchiato.
After watching it again. Just caught that myself. wow time flies, doesn't it ?! The only thing is now it is outrageous with prices. This movie made me like Starbucks. I which I prefer more than Pjs Coffee.
hey tom you forgot me! .... fk the decission process hand me the financial times! oh tom i take mine black any roast any size were done....txs for the joe ,...tom

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the genius of The Cranberries song? Great band

I love this movie opening, New York in the morning.
YES !
I don't like the opening of the movie, all that Computer stuff. But I love that scene.
I’m a SoCal native who always dreamed of visiting New York.
This movie could be a book of quotes.. Every line is very inspirational
My fav is: You need quiet when a hot dog is singing?
Tall! Decaf! Cappuccino!!
I want the 90’s back 😭
Me too!
But not moviewise. There have been more good films after the 90's-
The nostalgia is getting extra painful these days.
......yes the dawn of shameless product placement

62 years old....Never Had A Starbucks.....and doing just fine too
You’re not missing anything special...really. Coffee is great in other places.
DrinkwithaMexican that was the funniest thing I’ve read in a while. You made my day haha
The most disgusting tea I ever had was in a starbucks. So I did not even dare to order coffee. And btw, what is so great about starbucks anyway?
Once I read a story about a butterfly on the subway and today I saw one I got on 42nd and off of 59th where I assumed it went to Bloomingdale's to buy a hat that would turn out to be a mistake because most hats are
this movie is so iconic
1998.... where did the time go?
One of my favorite scenes of all time!
I absolutely love the opening! I used to watch it all the time
*me too*

Typical liberal. She doesn't vote either
Not so much hypocritical because I think she lacks awareness of the irony of it
Product placement lol
Maybe the small coffee store that's close to her sucks 😕 🤷♀️

tiggerser Yes, that is what he said.
Tall soy flat white latte no whipped cream.

2.95? This is why everything was better in the 90s 🤣
My tall hot matcha latte is $5.95 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
I always think of this movie everytime I’m in a Barnes and noble or near a Starbucks
RIP Borders
@@tommyjones1357I loved that place when I was in college
love this scene!
Love this song.
Ironic how the 24-hour locksmith store is opening up in the morning, too lol.
You can call the number, at any time, and the owner will come to you.
24 hours...not in a row
I really love Meg Ryan in this movie. I love the movie, actually.
All the anger you may have against her character makes me want her life even more.
No wonder she was popular when she voiced Anya
$2.95? Damn it’s $5.95 for a grande caramel macchiato 🙃
Its the 90s.. Inflation
Are you an asshole whole or trying to be an asshole this film was released more than 20 years ago, that time everything will be at a lower price than now...
7 now
@@Den-et1pj I don’t even think it was $2.95 in the 90s.
Pretty crazy how a coffee costs as much as someone's hourly rate. Messed up in both directions.
$2.95 in 1998- $5.45 in 2019
I like how "tall decaf cappucino" guy looks like the young Paul Simon with the glasses from the Terry "The Toad" Fields.
I just came here to say that he had a Czech accent!

The TALL DECAF CAPPUCCINO!!! "Tall decaf cappuccino." part is so satisfying!!
As a Starbucks manager, hearing Tom Hanks narrate about “you too can get a cup of coffee for just $2.95” made me very sad.

25 year gap.

I’m more of a Frappe or sometimes iced coffee fan. I’m 30 and this scene makes me wish I was young enough to remember the Golden Years of Starbucks.
SB is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee while observing the showcase of human vanity...
Love the Cranberries opening next time I go to NYC I’m going to play it on my way to
Starbucks
Aaah! A Starbucks in Manaus-Amazon- Brazil🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Dreams by The Cranberries.

I never really watched this movie all the way through, I believe. I didn't even realize that Starbucks was a thing back then.
2,95 for coffee back then, people listen to this!
Time-traveling John Oliver right there.
I love 💕 Starbucks
Love Starbucks Alie
Starbucks is very famous now
I’m torn between Starbucks or Terra Mia
You can make many decisions at Starbucks just to order coffee !
that was not a tall cup he handed her! that was more like a grande lol

I just realized drink same one as Kathleen
Excellent Nora Ephron movie
She's so pretty there.
This film was brought to you by Starbucks
I always wondered why Nora hasn't chosen a nice "Café around the corner", like Patti Smith's in M train.
LOL 295, WAS CRAZY EXPENSIVE, LOL!!!!
Tall chai soy latte over here.
Remember when Starbucks was forcing their way into all the movies of the 90s? lmao
Same song/setup in an episode of Ted Lasso.

This feels like LA today reopening for business, even if it’s only curbside pick-up. Wow, what a mess has the COVID made of the world!
The Starbucks on 81st/Broadway has now been remodeled so the inside doesn’t really match the film anymore.
No way
This film is a paean to two companies that aggressively destroyed small, local businesses.
Anyone else notice that old lid on the cup?
Yummy Mocha ❤️ - Raylene Price
I’m confused is elfin this movie
