Jesus, knowing the time had come, entered the Garden of Gethsemane to pray and plead with the Father that, if there was any other way for this work to be done, that the cup of suffering that He was facing would pass from Him. Jesus knew it couldn’t, so, in extreme stress, Jesus’ capillaries burst and He began to sweat blood. Jesus later was betrayed with a kiss, captured by the Jews, beaten badly, and then flogged. The Jewish customs commanded 39 lashes with the whip, which had multiple ends with metal, bone, and rocks in to cause extreme damage. Jesus, who was by now naked, beaten, and flogged nearly to death, had to carry a 100 pound part of His cross for about 1/3 mile until He couldn’t any longer, then Simon of Cyrene carried it the rest of the way. Jesus was then nailed to the cross through a massive nerve in His wrist and nerves in His feet, causing instant shock-like pains, then the cross was lifted vertically, followed by a large drop into the hole dug for it, causing massive pain. By now, Christ has experienced almost the full Roman crucifixion. As time passes on and the sky becomes dark with clouds, Jesus’ body begins to physically break down, acid/serum start to fill His arteries and clog up the blood flow, and He is exhausted from trying to breathe by pushing on the nails. When the time came for Jesus to die, He cried out asking God to forgive His accusers because they do not know what they have done, then He declares that it is finished, that sin has been dealt with, and that His time of suffering is over, and then He bows His head and willingly gives up His spirit. Jesus died before they broke His legs, had His side thrusted with a spear, releasing water and blood, and nailed through His hands and feet, fulfilling at least 3 specific prophecies written 600-1000+ years before He was born, including one that spoke of crucifixion around 1000 years before it was invented.

As no exact reference was used, and they are just drawing from memory/trying to create a character design. I feel its not about skill deteriorating but rather coming up with character designs' creative aspect.

2:22 I went years doing this, not only with faces but with drawing anything in general. That's why it was so hard for me to learn to use a grid when I joined a fine art class. I always just measured everything in my head, and it worked really well but we weren't allowed to do that. They literally had to watch over my shoulder to comfirm I wasn't, in fact, tracing. Personally, I hate tracing because I find it limiting for my pencil strokes or with whatever medium I'm using, but to each their own.
To this day, I still hate grids and will avoid them like the plague. I went back to measuring proportions my way, and I'm proud of my art.

Little traditional art tip I have to interject with, get good paper. Use the cheapest markers, paints, pencils, whatever medium it is, but as long as you have semi decent paper, it'll be great. Not even the arches 100% cotton stuff, regular construction paper and stuff like that works too, just make sure its got a little more thickness than regular printer paper, that's it.

The message he's conveying around ten minutes in is very true. I literally have only ever used paper, mechanical pencil, hard work, and practice to get to my current skill level. Now I can draw very detailed art works and it's because I forced myself to put hours into my works. But don't get me started on color. No. I suck. That's a closed book. 🤣

Heh. I use bic mechanical pencils and 70¢ folkart acrylic paints. 😂
Oh and crayola crayons and colored pencils. I raid discounted school supplies. So no, expensive art supplies are not necessary.

I will say that when people convince themselves that the skill difference is between products is because most of the time people with more experience have the fancier things and some people might unconsciously associate time and skill with supplies and resources.
