I don't think that people realise how much goes into these videos. It's not just the filming but also the research and the editing so I am glad that you only do one per week so that you maintain the great quality. I look forward to seeing them every week.
@@HannahRicketts 10 hours really ? oh I never thought it would be so much work to produce a video like this you really put a lot of effort into it for us we really appreciate it Hannah 👍💪🙏
I flew home yesterday and I watched Notting Hill on the plane and the woman sitting next to me was also watching Notting Hill. It's definitely still a popular movie!
Hannah, once more you did an excellent job showing this beautiful tour around Notting Hill. And what an wonderful place to visit and live! It seems so peaceful, and those colourful buildings and their architectures are amazing! Your comments about the history of the area followed by those photos were a great idea of yours! This video edition and the image quality are perfect! Thanks again! Have a wonderful Friday and weekend! 😀 🎬🎥 💂🇬🇧
Hannah, I have to correct you in case anyone wanders down to Portobello this weekend for the Carnival - it's next weekend! 27th-28th August - always the last weekend in August (Bank Holiday).
My favourite relaxing time in the week is when i get to watch your uploads and learn new things about london, it makes me want to jump on a train to grab breakfast from a market and cycling around in the sun, i loved how relaxing it was when i was working there last.
Hi Hannah great vlog. Notting Hill has a very dark back story. It was originally a black neighbourhood, it was a deprived neighbourhood that the British housed those Afro Caribbeans that arrived during the wind rush years in 1948. They were constantly targeted and lived in fear and as you mentioned it took a turn and the community fought back and the carnival was a testament to the power of unity, heritage and the triumph of resilience. It later became gentrified and the black community were forced.
Definitely the neighbourhood was still Carribbean in the early nineties but nowadays only a few people remain here only those who can afford the insane rent prices
Nice vlog and excellent narration. I really like how you included the history. Part of my profession is gathering historical uses of properties prior to redevelopment and it's enjoyable to see what these locations were once like. I actually saw the movie a few weeks back and this provided more perspective. Keep up the good work!
Allow me Hannah to contribute to your expense account in a small way. I always mindfully anticipate your Friday 6:00 PM download each and every week. Thank you, Hannah, for all of your brilliant work.
Oh wow, at 20:51 looks like a restaurant…are those real plates covering the front? If so, that’s beautiful. Notting Hill is on my top ten list of fav movies. Thanks again Hannah for sharing London beauty. Hope to visit one day. See you next Friday. ❤️🌼
As a runner myself I would say that you are doing very well to do as much as you do. Try a parkrun. Not a race but you will always find somebody else who is your speed and will motivate you to improve. A lot of people are intimidated and think that they are for "proper" runners. They are not.
Thank you, Hannah, for "throwing up a map". Love a map! For this viewer (I live on the west coast of the United States) I love seeing exactly where the area is that you are posting about. Thanks!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the history you shared and where and how things changed. Again, I'm really enjoying your tours!! 😊❤️ My husband popped in, saw that you were doing Portobello Road and starting singing from "Bed knobs and Broomsticks". 😄
Thank you, whenever we are in London, on our rare visits to England, we always try to get to Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market. This is an extremely pleasant and lovely reminder of great times we have had. A big thank you and please keep up the great work, the history lesson a nice little touch.
Really good! Yes, a bit dodgy 50years ago. I do remember going to a Greek Restaurant with my mother there. Better Greek food than what I had eaten in Greece.
Thank you for another lovely video! Makes me miss London all the more to see all those lovely houses. Btw: when you mentioned Couch to 5k App all the way back, I asked my English husband to download the NHS app for me (apparently one needs an English App Store account to get it free outside the UK), AND I since been running!! In week 8 now and feeling great!! So well done Hannah! Whenever you wonder if your videos are actually of interest to anyone, remember what an impact you can have on people’s life!😉 Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭🏃♀️
Once again an excellent vlog/casual tourist guide. Your style is really friendly, casual and welcoming and you're really building on the experience of filming them!!
Lovely to see all these streets again: I used to live at Notting Hill Gate, and worked in an office under the Westway, near Portobello Green. Shopping and street food every lunchtime - it was the best! Tips from your other videos were very useful when I came back for a visit recently - especially the Crown to Couture exhibition at Kensington Palace 🤩 Thank you! 👏
Hi Hannah, I thoroughly enjoyed your vlog - This one is incredibly relaxing. Your narrative approach to delivering information is truly captivating. I'm genuinely grateful for the comfort your content provides. By the way, I couldn't help but notice the Maserati at 00:01:25 🚙 - it happens to be my all-time favorite car. And oh, "Notting Hill movie" holds a special place in my heart as one of my cherished movies 🎦 The works of both Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant never cease to amaze me. Wishing you a fabulous Friday and a fantastic weekend ahead!😃💐🇬🇧❤🇺🇸💐
Thanks! WOW...what beautiful architecture... London is the most BEAUTIFUL city in the world... You do a GREAT JOB window surfing..Your camera is every bit as good quality as the newest iPhone...try to film the inside of an antique store if you can...brisk WALKING is way less stress on your joints... JOGGING is brutal on the joints... 👍🇬🇧 H.R. BEST LONDON VLOGGER 🎥 EVER..
I used to live very near Notting Hill around 50 years ago and indeed it was mostly a dump. The houses were nice but very dirty and rundown. I'm glad they've retained most of those old properties, and that they have been smartened up out of all recognition. The reason of course is that, along with much of the rest of London, Notting Hill has been gentrified.
Hi Hannah we hope you are well your vlogs are so full of information as well as entertainment we came out of F&M yesterday and Vonnie was hoping to get some pink earrings as we walked back to the Ritz I informed her no chance as Hannah had informed us ST James was nearly all men’s clothing! Keep safe Andy and Vonnie
Thank you, I really enjoy your vlogs. My daughter and I visited last year (from NY) and we did visit Notting Hill, and really loved it. I recognized so many places you highlighted.
I think the last Mews you showed was where Stephen Ward lived, the Osteopath who was part of the Christine Keeler, Mandy Rice Davies, Profumo Scandal in the early 60s when Notting Hill was a much rougher area before Gentrification. Such beautiful ice cream flavours Architecture to swoon over, love it! Thank you Hannah, have a fab weekend but don't overdo the running. 😊❤
Fantastic vlog Hannah, such a fantastic area of London!! Plenty of film locations!! and as well the very cool looking Hannah make it a pleasure to watch!! keep up the excellent work Hannah 😊👏
Hannah, you're getting better and better. You're so natural on camera. I've been to that area twice within a year and I prefered my Spring visit with no stalls and much less tourists. I found the things in the shops too pricey for what they are but managed to buy some really nice Arts and Crafts style tea cups at Alice's. The shop looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland and is ran by lovely elderly people. I also bought a box of a very good tea at Bird & Blend Tea Co. On the other hand I couldn't find a place to have a coffee. The only one in sight was Hermanos.
Love your videos, Hannah! London is my favorite city on earth (I'm fortunate enough to have been able to visit three times so far.) I appreciate your perspective and I'm always adding new places for us to try the next time we're able to venture across the pond!
Watching Hannah's videos is so therapeutic! It's like watching a bestie tour you into their neighborhood 🥰 Love how the video is so informative but not boring! I love how Hannah is just so chill, funny, and relatable! I've always wanted to do something like this, If only I'm that confident and well-spoken when shooting videos! 😅 Wonderful work, Hannah! Thank you for this amazing content!
Its interesting how the neighbourhood progresses from the upscale houses to the brightly coloured ones, all while maintaining the historical character throughout! Also keep at your running schedule with whatever you can manage and you'll make progress
Thx Hannah for taking us around Notting Hill, which is still a fun movie to watch again & again! The area is very nice & looks quite different from the interesting historical view that you shared with us! It is hard to believe that the famous Blue Door is still standing in the same spot, along with so many other "movie spots & locations". I hope your weather has remained nice & mostly rain free this week! Just be glad you are not in the Dallas, TX area right now where yesterday we broke a heat record set in 1951, as it hit 109 degrees!!! Hannah have a nice weekend, & I look forward to your next week's vlog on Friday!
Love the music you pick for these videos. I have dreams of visiting ,and eventually living in England. Gives me all the vibes when your jazzy tunes pop up ❤
Wonderful, informative vlog Hannah - shows how much research you put in. Such a mixed history, this area. When I visited quite often in the sixties, it was very hippy orientated, and no go areas abounded. What a difference today though - gorgeous x
Another wonderful, informative, well lit, filmed, entertaining and fun vlog!!! Dear Hannah, keep us educated on all things British ⚽ your hard work, and commitment to your viewers truly pays off!
Yes, a lot of the architecture is similar to Brighton. Even some street names are the same. There are a lot of Regency buildings in Brighton and Hove, which are of the same era you mentioned. Interesting to see where they filmed that movie scene in the nineties.
I look forward to watching your video at the end of a working week. I really appreciate your tours of London. I don't get chance to visit London myself but enjoy seeing it through your eyes. I thought this tour of Nottingham Hill was really informative with all the historical facts you shared with us. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making these videos for us viewers. ❤
It’s a peaceful (thankfully) Sunday, raining here in Southern California, so I’m watching and rewatching Hannah’s videos as I prep for the first day of school tomorrow! We dodged the worst of Hurricane Hilary 😊but bracing for a bit of flooding later on. ❤❤
Great video Hannah, thank you 😁 I loved the mix of seeing what it is like now, mixed in with the history of the area, and the old photos too, great idea 👍 I went and had a look at house prices after watching this - yikes 😮 There was a run down building consisting of a garage on the ground floor, with a one bedroom flat above, and it was for sale at £2 million! 😯
Thank you Hannah, for bringing us to Notting Hill ... This is just one area that I never miss when coming over to London ... It is just so lively and stunning to walk around.
On one video, you asked us to post where we are from on any vlog. I'm in Bryan, Texas USA. I love all your London and British posts. I was actually watching a Whole Foods Vlog from about 10 months ago, when I saw the exact same poppyseed salad dressing that I use, for sale on a shelf. Brianna's. It's made Brenham, Texas, about 40 miles from here. ❤
I really appreciate listening to the research you put in about the history of the area and that you got up early on a Sunday morning to get good images
Hi Hannah, another gem of a walking tour ! If anyone’s interested in “free things to do “ in London for the next few weeks , anyone can visit the Sotheby’s Auction house , near Bond Street , to view the Freddie Mercury collection , which is available to see NOW 🎉! * and is very well worth the effort to be there !
Most definitely more please. Would love to see it on a Saturday, even though it would be more challenging to film. Just the architecture of the homes is most enchanting.
Hannah, I love a rom-com. These days it's my favourite movie genre. I can never resist watching Notting Hill whenever it appears on the telly movie channel. Interesting, the historical note that Notting Hill was a centre for pottery. I'm liking industrial vibe of Clarendon Works. Notting Hill is such a charming part of London. It's really fun to follow along with you as we visit the various movie magic locations! And you are going deeper into the historical aspects! Hannah you've done a splendid job! Take care and I'll look for you again next week. Have a good one! x 👏👍
Your videos have become part of my Saturday morning routine! I love sitting down with my first cup of coffee and dreaming about a future trip to England. Thank you for bringing some local London into my Aussie life.
YAY!!! Loved yet another vlog! You somehow make walking around seem so much fun... and incredibly interesting! How does one make Friday even better? Just add Hannah! 😎😎😎
As you will, no doubt, have now realised, this is the weekend before the Bank Holiday! Probably a good idea as it will have warned those who are unfamiliar that it is not an area to visit over the Bank Holiday weekend! perhaps a holder to attach to the bike handlebar on which to put your phone/camera?
Great video, Hannah! Love all the background and history, but I always enjoy your reactions and comments on things you see as you go along! Thanks again for the tour, you lucked out on the weather 😉😀😎
Thanks Hannah, adding some info about the history of the area was a great idea. Every week I look forward to your tours around different parts of London.
You should be so proud of the work you create. Your videos are informative and entertsining. Thanks for taking the time to make them. You will be at 200k subs before you know it.
Thank you Hanna for a lovely tour of another part of London and its history....Notting Hill. I watched the video late Saturday night. I was at a dinner party on Friday and I arrived home too late to see my weekly Friday tour of London😀. It has been a very hectic and busy week. From NYC, I wish you a great new week!🙂
SUCH A GOOD VIDEO, I bloody love watching your videos and found this one so interesting and informative. Not sure if you have changed how you film or the amount of info you give out during the video but this one was great! Thank you for making it, I really enjoyed it. x
Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing. You have me coming g back to London for Christmas. Darn!. I will be vising Nothing Hill. I have a British co-worker who has an apartment in Nothing Hill. I will be staying with my sister in the countryside. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Hannah. We all look forward to your video on Friday. This one is a good one. Notting Hill is a very good movie. I think you would be a very good tourist guide Hannah. Look forward to your next video.
Good evening hannah where have you been we need your videos please dont stay away we love you.I love you thanks for always sharing lovely videos.Happy friday love you ❤❤🍒🍇
FABCOOL Birthday video for me I enjoyed with my cake/turtle pie! the footage is crisp clear love it gal!!! YA, I do love a HUgh G in Bridget JOnes (first ones best) and Notting Hill romcom but he is a riot in PAddington 2!!! boy you went at the right time to get a nice chill vibe! I miss my Londontown (near Boston atm) this video helps tho, much thanks! Pedlars cafe is cool for a coffee even when it's packed on the streets, it's a bit off the main way and near Rough Trade for a record shop mooch and can get a treat in a cute little shop next-door at Pedlars. THanks CHeers! 😎👋
Amazing video Hannah, thank you so much! I love both movies you mention, it's great to see these areas. I'm so excited because I'm going to London with a family member, soon, (I live in Alaska) and it's been a lifetime dream to see this city. Thanks also for the interesting historical stories!
This was one of my favorites of yours - Notting Hill and Love Actually are two of my favorite rom-coms and I absolutely love Portobello Road! Need to explore more of Notting Hill next time we are visiting 😊
My favourite part of London!! Portobello, Ladbroke Grove... has alot of music history too! Just off Portobello is Vernon Yard, where Virgin Records had their offices...Some cool Photos of Sex Pistols hanging around there. Earl of Lonsdale used to be a favourite for them, The Clash snd Lemmy. Further up Portobello is Lancaster Road where Joe Strummer used to have a squat and round the corner, Basing Street studios. Bob Marley,.The Clash, The Slits and Bandaid, amongst others, have recorded there. Then scoot along to Ladbroke Grove to The Elgin for a Guinness!!!Maxilla Hall under the Westway for a gig afterwards!! Love it!!Love the walk from Castelain Road, where my mate lives, as you can take so many routes. Thanks for doin this tour....I haven't been in a few months and have withdrawal symptoms!! See yer next week x Great stuff 👌🏻
Thank you Hannah! I love those movies, so this was definitely uplifting and the history equally interesting! I’d enjoy your idea of visiting the stores around here too!
Nice job giving us some history on a very interesting area !! I have been there only once last December from my many trips and I spent the most money in a short time there at Portobello Road. Got some cool London skyline painted trainers/sneakers at Roko Art and a cool London hat and a great UK version to the Paul McCartney lyric book set. Next May I will be staying in Bayswater and will certainly explore the area much more then. Thanks for giving us such great street views and I always enjoy seeing you !!! Continued success on your running = I admire you for that ! Howard
Very informative, loved it! Thank you! The pastel homes remind me of “Rainbow Row” along the battery in Charleston, South Carolina. Definitely a beautiful part of London. And yes, show the stores!
I was here today. Kind of. I walked from Ladbroke Grove tube station to Notting Hill Gate. Not being a Londoner myself I didn’t realise you could get off at Notting Hill Gate to see the Colourful Houses

It's really fun to follow along with you as we visit the various movie magic locations! And you are going deeper into the historical aspects! Hannah you've done a splendid job! Take care and I'll look for you again next week. Have a good one! x 👏👍
Glad to see you are sporting the women's footballer ponytail in honour of the final on Sunday 😊 🏴
Brilliant video Hannah, very informative! ( also your eyeliner was perfect, wish I could do mine😂) ❤️
Get the Nyx epic liner, it’s so easy
Love actually is my favourite film. Also I love Christmas so I get all the good things in the film. X
Wonderful vlog Hannah thank you. Notting hill looks so cool. Must visit soon. Love the film too. So good. Take care 🌞 xx
Очень симпатичный район!😊❤
Thanks Hannah, adding some info about the history of the area was a great idea. Every week I look forward to your tours around different parts of London.
Another great and informative video!! I was planning to visit Notting Hill and this video timing couldn't be perfect :)
You should be so proud of the work you create. Your videos are informative and entertsining. Thanks for taking the time to make them. You will be at 200k subs before you know it.
Thank you very much!
You should do Howard's End locations.. if you can travel to several places.. but I think one of the front entrances looks to be here.

See yer next week x
Great stuff 👌🏻
❤Thank you for the stroll around Notting Hill. Have a wonderful weekend ❤
Thanks again for another great video! Notting Hill is such a lovely area, it was a treat to get to see it. Hope you have a beautiful weekend.
I love everything you do Hannah....🌸🌸🦋🦋. Thank you for another stunning video! ✨✨✨✨
Howard
Actually the movie Notting Hill caused interest in the area. It’s fun to live in an area where a famous movie was filmed.
I love that you do your research on the different areas. Very interesting.😊
Brilliant job once again Hannah loved it didn't know how beautiful Notting Hill is thanks so much ❤
Absolutely love watching your videos Ms Hannah! Please keep them up! Sending much love from Atlanta, Georgia USA. 😊🙏🏽
