Today’s phenomenal Squid Game-style story is ‘The Most Dangerous Game’, a classic work first published by Richard Connell on January 19, 1924, and read here under the conditions of the CC-BY-SA license.

I don’t quite get how The Squid Game applies in any way to this fabulous story. The original title was far, far, better and I don’t know why he changed it? Either way it’s easily one of my favorites and always will be! This is a subject which has been played in so many different ways over the years, and I’m certain that it’ll continue to be evolved over and over until there’s just no more way to change it up without adding and changing the characters. Not as in the General or Rainsford, but humans vs. humans. Take The Predator for example. That’s a split off the same storyline, albeit a far more interesting one! So Dr, you did us a great service by providing us with this classic tale, and I for one an truly grateful! Thanks for all your work and I look forward to your next upload! 👏👏👏👏
The 1932 film adaptation is actually very well done, one of my favorite old films. And some of the best set desing.

A classic, great reading.
As soon as I heard the night described as wet velvet, I recognized the story. Twenty minutes in and it's all but confirmed. An oldie but a goodie, weird to call it the "first squid game" 😂👍

I have absolutely no idea what the 'Squid Game' is (somehow I've managed to avoid the knowledge), so it's all going to be a total revalation to me! Hope everyone is having a good week.
