  • A modular housing building in Vancouver is set to close at the end of July. As Kier Junos reports, advocates say the move will make homelessness worse in the city.

What i dont understand is why cant the people that cant afford to live here move to a cheaper province?
I came to this country with my parents with nothing amd didnt even speak english, and we are doing just fine. Always wonder how this abled body people, who grew up here, has roots here, allow themselves to become homeless.

if you dont understand the situation please dont comment like you do ...if you did know about the situation then you would not have had to ask the question you did.

@@psychoblack1411 The real problem is theres lots of people that would rather spend their rent on drugs. Cut the condescending attitude.

Greed and corruption has brought us to the point of feeling numb while we witness this attack on the poorer citizens which in my opinion, " is crimes against humanity right in our faces."

People judge like they know how to help poverty when they dont have experience of poverty themselves

This place has become a slum where every day, ambulances are called multiple times a day to attend to overdoses, and the entire area has seen a sharp rise in crime and break ins. Its basically become practically a slum.
But there is a lot of affordable housing, in Alberta, we should give them one way bus tickets to Calgary or Edmonton! Why should they be given prime real estate in the most expensive neighborhoods in Canada, in Downtown Vancouver, when there is a vast abundance of cheaper land and real estate in Alberta?
