Corey was actually screaming in the “unhealthy” way on Self-Titled and Iowa, but… man, it sounds BRUTAL.
If I’m not mistaken, Surfacing is the song they play the most at concerts. Seeing Craig headbanging made me sad, knowing that he’ll never do that again with Slipknot. 💜
He just bowed out of a bunch of your dates, didn't dive into why, so I'm not gonna pretend I know.... But not having him there would suck!!

'Surfacing' is always the final song of every show and has been for literally decades.
They played it at the opening of the show as well
Dynamo 2000, one of Slipknot’s best shows. They were truly chaotic and ferocious back then. It’s a weird time to be a maggot right now with the whole Craig thing going on. Great video guys
You guys always say Rest in Peace for Joey when he's in these videos, but never for Paul Grey, the bass player who passed away in 2010. He was the one who wore the pig mask.

Corey’s mask which is probably his greatest mask, his dreads were pulled through the top of the mask and after a while he had to change cuz it was pulling his hair out. Just a bit of Slipknot fun fact for ya.
During this first tour they were so out of control. Hitting each other was the norm, blood was frequent and trips to emergency afterwards happened often. I first saw them live on this tour and came out of the pit with a number of injuries, even though I'm a big guy and rarely take damage in a pit. Sid climbed on top of a speaker stack mid show, easy 5-6 meters up, and jumped into the pit. Chris had bloody hands from punching his drums. Absolutely insane

I first seen Slipknot when they toured Iowa in 2002, Valentines day. It was just before my 16th birthday and it has shaped my life in more ways than one.
I compare EVERY metal band I see live to that energy, that performance.... and no one or no band has came close.
Man they are so young here. We are so old now as time passes on but I still feel this age deep in my heart!

I first saw Slipknot at Ozzfest 99 in San Bernardino...never heard of them and they opened the second stage...very first band and they started with this song and, oh my god they blew me away! The energy was unreal...i was hooked and i bought the cd the very next day, they played the entire album in order....badass show!!! And i lost my San Diego Padres hat in the mosh pit

@JustinReal I know, it's always download 09, which was great, but the 2002 was fire! Also the bit in Gently when that kids get pretty much knocked out 😂😂
@@crayzeewhorse the whole concert is so amazing especially pretty early in their careers. I’ve never seen that much work and energy from anyone else . That much effort to entertain a crowd by every single member is so unique. 2009 was great but it just doesn’t compare to this 2002 London . I think Joey on the drums and spinning are the highlight for sure and you can’t look past that .
My first Slipknot concert was in 2000, I was fortunate enough to get in early enough to be at the front of the GA floor right by the security barricade of the stage and when sic went off, I got swept up in the pit from hell. I came home from that concert battered, bloodied and exhausted but loved every minute of it.

Don't remember which tour, but there's video online of a Puscifer show where they had a wrestling ring and 4 luchadores who would do a full wrestling act through songs. Maynard was wearing a luchadore mask as well.
I saw them last night at download and it was amazing. It was a shame that Craig wasn't there, but Shawn was able to make it after his wife had health problems.

I have been revisiting slipknot, especially since my daughter has gotten into them and asked me to suggest songs. I remember going to an early Ozzfest and seeing them. The lineup included Disturbed, Mudvayne, Marylin Manson and a Sanbath Reunion. I would like to see you guys do a more recent live version of Duality.

Slipknot is the real deal I have this album got it when it was new it should have been called music to beat someone's ass to When they said we're you going to be in the next 5 years well there still out there and especially relevant to this day showing how good they actually are.

Seen Slipknot 10+ times and they played Sic. I saw them on Sunday and they didnt. But I think the set was edited as Corey was sick.

That raw energy is the energy of youth. Slipknot cannot perform at that intensity anymore, and neither can any band after they age. Growing old is a sad part of life. I can guarantee each one of them have that same fire burning in them, but our bodies start to give out long before the fire in our hearts. Metal, or aggressive music in general, is for the young, at least on a performance level. This is the way Sic is supposed to be, not the way they do it today with everyone basically just standing in place.
I know there will be people hating on this comment but the red jumpsuit album is still my favorite of all time.that album came out my final year of high school and was my theme music for years. Iowa was great but not like this album. I'm officially calling out smokey and hollywood, you are not full maggots until you see them live. Challenge is on the table!
