  • First time in stereo! Fred Astaire, Eleanor Powell, and George Murphy (who pretended to be drunk so Fred could go on in his place) dance to Cole Porter's "I've Got My Eyes on You" from "Broadway Melody of 1940".

Senator Murphy holds his own very well against the two greatest on screen dancers of all time. Great stuff.

It’s cute when Murphy and Astaire rib two of Powell’s distinctive moves - the hand to the chin and the uncanny ability to turn with ease and speed.

Many film songs were recorded in multi-track but mixed down to mono for the finished film. The tracks have now been released in true stereo, so I synched them to the film. Many more on my channel!
