    I drove these Gun Tractors in the T A Royal Artillery 265 Reg towing the Bofors L70 40mm Field gun in 1965

    Favors some of the old Macks and such I used to drive. I adjusted the clutch brake out because I never used it and could set the pedal lower. It's a little loud but'll be more hot than loud but that'd be nice in Russia! Drive on!

      Im not sure if i talked about it or not in any of the videos? But i disconnected the clutch brake, so the main clutch could disconnect all the way. And for the most part, it seems to be fine not having it.
      Not as loud with the engine cover on.
      I would imagine she would get hot inside. Good for winters down in south Victoria.

    These were always known as Knockers by the crews. 11.3 straight 6 - superb engines.

      Interesting info, thanks for sharing. The motor sure runs well for sitting around in what looks to be a neglected truck for all those years

      @@hurricanedaniel aye! I used to own one myself (it’s on my channel if you want to look with a straight through pipe) and we have some buses with these engines. They just love firing up first time even after being sat round for years! Great engineering!

      @@DoorstepBrewing would love to check them out lance, ill have a look once at some point today. Ive been told by a number of people that as long as they have oil in them, that whole drive line will just run for ever !

    Probably solved it by now.
    But my guess for it running out of fuel is the piston chest of the injector pump needs bleeding.

    • @hurricanedaniel
      @hurricanedaniel  3 года назад

      righto, i have not looked into it yet actually. i beleave i bleed it when i first got it running? cant 100% remember though. ive also not replace the fuel filters out cleaned out the filter screen in the fuel lift pump. all simple things to check, just lacking some time at the moment.

    • @bigbadtree
      @bigbadtree 3 года назад +1

      @@hurricanedaniel thought I'd mention it as it's possible with these pumps to bleed the injectors get it running and apparently revving normally without bleeding the chest, but when you demand power it'll peter out.
      Congrats on your find, nice to see another one being saved!

      @@bigbadtree righto, well this is very handy indeed as all i did from memory was crack some injector lines, make sure fuel was coming out after flushing fresh fuel though and she started up after that. Ill defantly have to get onto this.

    It’s always exciting to get something moving again for the first time. Did you change the name of your channel? So did you get it hauled home yet? We’ve been having a very cold spell for almost 2 weeks now, highs in single digits above 0 Fahrenheit and lows in double digits below 0 Fahrenheit. It’s supposed to get up to the freezing mark next weekend so I’m going to attempt the HD5 again, I got new spray nozzles for the injectors.

      Exciting indeed my friend. Always a good felling when something start, and even better when it starts moving again.
      I did change the channel name as it was very hard for people to find if searching (unless you wanted to learn about a hurricane named daniel).
      Trucks still at my mates farm, more room to drive it around there anyways.
      Thats some cold weather, i hope you have a good enough heater/s.
      Hopfully the new injectors fix the issue with the HD5. Im yet to veiw your latest videos. Internet connection is very slow at the moment as we are currently in the locked down as of yesterday, so everyone stuck at home.

      I figured that was why you changed the name. I got my first covid shot this week, hopefully enough people will get shots and things improve by summer as we hope to go to Missouri in late June. If they have their show in Lathrop, Missouri in June I should get the chance to operate that Koerhing I showed in a video earlier. If the internet catches up I should have a lot of videos as I’m going to try to document all the progress on the Sixty.

      @@oldamericaniron5767 ah yes, u have the shots over there. Im not sure if we have them yet. Does it stop the transmission or just the affects from covid?
      I was looking into what shows are coming up around me, and it looks like most will be going ahead at this point. Be good to get out and see some old items.
      I guess you have the time to document it, so you might as well. People seem to injoy watching it also
