Leisure facilities and a leisure centre, golfing activities and river walks and trails will keep the active happy - while there are plenty of shopping opportunities as well as quality bars and restaurants known for their excellent cuisine. Shannon is an excellent sporting destination too - offering everything from rugby to hurling.

Shannon is the face of American suburbia in the heart of Ireland - broad tree-lined streets, plenty of space, few people walking about. Lovely place - we lived in Newmarket on Fergus for a year before the pandemic - and did some of our shopping at the Dunnes store in Shannon. Also enjoyed the coffee at the local McDonalds. - but it's not Irish - gotta go to Limerick or Galway to get a feel of city living in the Emerald Isle.

Visit Shannon twice, amazing place, dinning in Durty Nelly's is a must. Rain proof clothing is strongly recommended. Planning to visit Ireland as an ordinary turist next time because it is an absolute beautyfull country.🤝👍
