I'm glad they're raising awareness. I've been around friends who party like Steve my whole life and nobody thought we were doing anything wrong cause we were young. Then at 30 I tried to go sober for 30 days cause of a DUI and it was absolute torture. Still struggling at 35 I wish I had a different crowd I was around. Always thought we were so fun and cool with our crazy stories. Not cool the bs those 5 years of raging left me with. Good luck.

It’s a common occurrence of addicts to take breaks to prove they are “not addicted”. Steven is saying he won’t drink until September 1st, but that’s just to justify further drinking down the road. It’s the same reason addicts believe they can quit whenever- when in reality they have no plans to.

Jeff, if you’re going to be “big bro” to the guys you ACTUALLY have to commit to being “big bro” next time Ryan tries to hurt you put him in his place and make sure you guys squash it as the close friends you are. If you’re going to spar Steven, don’t let “him dictate” anything. Smoke him right away but then explain to him how he can be better, push him to be better.
Also, don’t fight Mike he’s your one friend in the space that is older than you and has lived threw so much. A loss or win over each other isn’t something that will sit well with either one and “play fighting” with one each other isn’t going to end well.

Worth clarifying regarding ‘talk to me’ - the racka boys made the film completely independently. A24 had nothing to do with the creative process/production of the movie - they bought the North American rights at Sundance, where the film premiered. Seriously bad ass!
