man, that flea market had a banging soundtrack that day. hotel cali, blinded by the light, black magic woman..
You think at your upcoming convention you could invite beard meets food and do a food challenge at the convention ? That be dope as hell. Love the content stay Gold
I never seen these before? I am in Texas and we don't see none of this stuff.... :(
Looks like a store to me. 4 walls and a door. Flea market, I think not. The sign even said “marketplace”. I’m also from Cali and flea markets are out doors.
please keep up the videos ive been gone for a while but now i’m back!
man, just one booth in that ANTIQUE MALL is better than all the ANTIQUE MALLS i’ve ever been too.
Where I live we have one antique mall and it's a joke. One time out of 3 years, I found something awesome.
I was excited to watch the new RetroRick video and it blew my mind to hear and see you in my booth talking about how cool the items were. I’ve been watching you and riff for years on repeat and admire you and the pixel game squad so much. Just absolutely blows my mind you were excited by my items. Thank you for the motivation and all the great videos!!!
It was so cool to see them there. I play music at altruist brewery I had no idea this market was here. Stopped in today. Really cool. Is there other stuff like this in the area?
Rick you bought the Hook Sealed VHS from my booth !!! Thanks a million !! Can’t believe you bought that and the Nintendo power from my stuff !!! So cool you came to Sturbridge !!! Thanks for commenting on the good prices I had and awesome stuff I was selling .
Interesting, the chuckee cheese next to me still has animatronics! They dont get used for as long anymore, but the still get used! I was there in the past few months too for my nephews birthday so it was recent too
5:24 you never have to apologize for Hotel California. That song is a jam!
To true Rick, I recently found old NES, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS during my abandoned homes hunting.
They all work and are near mint condition, I made some vids for them 😊
To see you in MA is awesome! Finally some spots I can check out being from here!!! I hope to see more from these adventures
I love those turtle water bottles. great find.
Nice little flea market. Love thrifting on occasion myself. You never know what you'll find when you look in every nook and cranny of a market. It probably doesn't help that I'm most definitely a "what's in the box?" kind of guy.
Thrifting where I live is a joke. Anything good is on shopgoodwill or no one donated anything good.
I have seen the exact same stuff for sale over the 8 months. Once in a blue moon, I find awesome stuff but that's maybe once a year or every 2 years.
All I know is that they were straight killin it with the music in that flea market!
The squints shirt is awesome
Dude ! I had one of those turtles water bottles as kid! That’s crazy. Forgot all about it
Nice Antique Mall
I have been missing these thrift videos! Keep them coming!
I come to this flea market every week in Sturbridge to look for videogames. I can't believe retrorick was in my neighborhood. I recognized everything he picked up. Thanks for visiting my town !!!
I had all those turtle water bottles in the late 80s, I loved them. Still waiting to run into them in the wild.
🤘😁👍
I want those TMNT bottles so bad! 🤩
I wish flea markets around here were like that, only furniture, candles and plates everywhere.
Good tune in the background hotel cali 🎶
I’ve been there many times!!! Such an amazing place!
I had the orange tint squeeze bottle as a kid,the straw was terrible but the bottle was awesome
There's real Flea Markets all around the Houston area. The biggest one was the one in Pearland last time I checked. Those are large thrift shops you are visiting.
Wow man this video took me back in time. Those Hook figures! I have a loose Captain Hook from that line, it’s one of the few things from my childhood toys that survived the house fire 😢. And those Turtles water bottles, great memory unlocked! Great video!
I was just in Sturbridge Mass for the holidays just got back into NY I was also in Monson and Boston this thanksgiving hope you enjoyed yours
Megaman X2 Cover!!! Right up my alley
I guess I'm getting old. I remember when Chucky Cheeses was called ShowBiz Pizza!!!!
I had that same TMNT water bottle!!!
Awesome stuff. Cool to.see the otogi games in the wild
So I think the distinction between Flea Market and thrift shop comes from the style of the store. The flea markets you've visited appear to have different sellers who presumably pay a rental fee to have their items stored for sale within a large store space. Versus a thrift store which all benefits the one business entity. Thrift stores are reliant on donations. Whereas these are reliant on people having things to sell who are willing to pay the space rental fees. The two have entirely different business models.
So these are basically indoor flea markets. And the term definitely suits them. Rick, you win this round!!
It's NOT a flea market. It's an antique mall. A FLEA MARKET has Individual vendors who run their own booths, they don't leave it all priced and let a main desk do it all. At a flea market the vendors can change every day. GET IT RIGHT RICK!!!
I’m in Ga and we have both where there are individual vendor booths in both antique malls and flea markets. The only difference is sometimes flea markets are outside and antique malls are full of old furniture and things no one wants with a few hidden gems. Tbh it’s whatever you want to call them. That to me was more of a flea market bc it didn’t have stuff you usually see at antique malls.
I agree with Gregory.
Stop
Nobody gives a s***.
The sign says “Flea Market”. Greg can’t read.
I have the virtual boy w/ the sealed 3D glasses. One of my favorite collection pieces.
I have a booth at Sturbridge Flea Market thats Awesome that you stopped by while you were up here...happy hunting rick!!!
Thrifting is the essence of a collectors time well spent. And, also being able to prove Riff wrong that flea markets do exist in Massachusetts is always a bonus. Love you guys, Riff seriously made these videos even more awesome
As someone who used to thrift, I now consider mainly time we'll waisted. 90% of the stuff I found was cool at the time, maybe some cosmetic flaws or other imperfections, or a game id have no interest in but it was there so why not get it, hell beggers can't be choosers. After a couple years collecting like that, and seeing half the games have water damage, or are in bad shape, and the rest of the non game stuff is in a similar condition, or I have zero interest in it after the initial buzz of the find, your left with garbage. You now want to upgrade all the games to better condition, and spending time trying to sell the other crap isn't worth it so might as well trash or donate it. So now I am happy to pay price charting prices on good conditioned games, and I don't buy the random game junk anymore and only have nice stuff. Plus the hours I'd waste looking at trash, vs just buying what I want.
That is the difference between successful people like Rick, people who like to whinge such as yourself. First: What you consider "time wasted", is an opportunity to make money, source inventory. That inventory, whether it be cosmetically imperfect, or not can be put towards a total fund to buy the "perfect condition" item. Second: There are a lot of people who like to collect complete collections, therefore condition is irrelevant. Third: Of course condition dictates price, this goes without saying. Why shouldn't an item in good condition or perfect condition command a premium? Who are you to say that, just because you don't have the finances to afford it. Either find a way to legally make money, such as sourcing video games or valuable items at low-cost, sell them, accumulate funds, or get a better job. Also, I would advise you to download grammarly, because your grammar, spelling, is awful .
I can’t freaking believe you were there .. I live 20 minutes away from there and know that store well
Finding thrift stores that have any worthwhile video games depends where in the US you live. If you live in say san Francisco, or seattle Washington, or new york city for example, your good.
so good to see rick thrift’n again
I go to this flea market pretty often, it's only 20 minutes from me. Couple of vendors keep the stuff I look for in stock a lot, great place!
In states that see snow, this is a flea market.
Flea markets in the south, georgia anyhow, are primarily outside with people renting different sections. Its basically the same as the places you go, but i get why people say the indoor places arent flea markets.
Those were some nice ANTIQUE MALL finds 🤷🏻♂️😂
I love RIF EDITS
Broke back gaming vibes
I watch all vids on both channels. Thanks for all the great content!
Nice place. I'm from Massachusetts and we have both those kinds of "flea Markets" and also the outdoor setup in a field type ones like Riff and the squad fo too, but only during Spring and summer.
I’ve lived in Indiana for 40 years and am not sure what else you’d call that but a flea market am I missing something? lol
A flea market is outdoors or in a warehouse with sellers at their booths.
An antique mall is indoors, does not have sellers there and everything is paid for at the front desk.
@@fivebrosstopmos hmmm well not where I come from. Lol
What up retro Rick love the video today at this flea market and the best thing about it you were in my home town I got to this flea market once a week loved the deals there so cool u got some good deals there too keep up the videos
What do you mean lol
garage sale
thrift shop
antique mall
Haha I been there a bunch of times, my whole family from Sturbridge and Southbridge. Funny to see ya in my old hood
You best get one of those Nintendo Powers signed for Riff.
Thats what every "flea" market and antique store looks like in New England
They're called Flea markets in CT too!
So I went there after this came out cause I live in Massachusetts... Great find rick. Did you know there was another huge flea market 9 minutes away as well?
You were literally one mile down the road from the best BBQ in New England B.T.’S Smokehouse
Hey you were in my neck of the woods I'm from western Massachusetts
the virtual boy nintendo power is my absolute fave of the whole collection. if it has the 3d glasses its more valuable
Keep these comin. Love the antique mall vids
Awesomeness 👌 i become addicted to vhs lol
I can play street fighter 2 for years and years and years. I unfortunately don't buy other games often just because of that 😆👍
I have that Power Rangers board game! Easily one of my favorites in my collection.
If it probably has bugs, it's a fleamarket. :D
It's called a vendors mall
6:35 - Linkin Park !!
Good music in this one lol
I wish I lived in the area! I have recently fixed up an old school sticker vending machine and I have put pokemon cards+ stickers in the machine. I'm currently looking for a place to put it, but i live in Tucson AZ. A bit to far away lol
I used to have a mario lunch box when I was in kindergarten. I wonder how much it would be worth nowadays if I still had it. Had so much stuff that I used and played with as a kid never thought about keeping it. My dad took me to toysrus to buy ninja turtles when they came out. My dad kept one in box but I eventually talked him into letting me open and play with it. Wonder how much that would be. Just fun to think about.
Yeah boy
Great job thrifting...youre really good at it Rick, want to be like you one day
One day I'll have 2 legit channels and can comment on my other channel 😂
Pretty sure they have to sell either snow cones or boiled peanuts to count as a flea market
Wait!! WTF was that Willow toy?!…. Sign me up!!
if you like this store retro rick there a store i invite you to check out. It's near viroqua wisconsin called crazy franks it so big it has two locations near each other
Don Henley is coming after this vid, for sure lol
Welcome to New England n
Your thrift stores are insane.
Hi!!
retro rick real reason chuckie got rid of the robot characters is it was costing the company to much money to keep them functioning.
Please for the love of everything can you make a store in Worcester we literally have nothing 😂😂
woah youre in my territory! assuming next video will be the yankee *flea market* haha
Dudeee you came to Massachusetts thats crazy
Love the vids
It's definitely not a flea market. Every flea market i have been to had booths, storage lockers, tablesn or areas manned by somebody selling stuff. What i saw in the video was an antique mall, store, or consignment shop.
That must be an east coast thing that's not a flea market it's an antique mall in the central mid west
Man y’all are sleeping on those Hong Kong vhs and laserdisc! And the Xbox stuff also!
LetsGooo!!🙏🤙😎
its not a FLEA MARKET! Its an antique shop with vendor booths. Flea markets are outside.
noun: flea market; plural noun: flea markets; noun: fleamarket; plural noun: fleamarkets
a market, typically outdoors, selling secondhand goods.
The flea market I used to go to was indoors
Love the vids kid lol
Who remembers Samurai Pizza Cats?
I could be wrong but the bottom shelf where you found the Nintendo power mags...you totally missed PS 1 and Turbo Grafx 16 games!
I paused it. Just PS1 games.
No way this in 30 mins from me. I got some super nintendo games for you
Dont ever apologise for hotel california
Cool World wasn’t R it was PG13
Soup To Nuts
COMEDY!
Definition of a flea market is a market typically outdoors that sells mainly secondhand goods. So I guess it is technically a flea Market. But I would call it a thrift store or secondhand store. When I think of a flea Market I think of outdoors or maybe a giant rented venue such as a convention center. Not a little thrift store.
Difference is this has vendor booths and not all owned by the store. If it was all owned by one person, I would call this a thrift/ second hand store.
this is an antique mall
Ya’ll worried about technicalities too much, its all hunting for old stuff.
@@rra7490 whos worrying? its a simple conversation on semantics. many people enjoy a little civil debate especially when it advances your knowledge and understanding.
@@FINNIUSORION quit worrying about it
@Retro Rick I have been trying to email you forever. i have a ton of nintendo powers im trying to get rid of since im moving. when i emailed, someone responded, asked for pictures, i then provided the pictures and never heard back. they are in good shape.
Hi I will interested, would you mind sending me a picture?
Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair is 100x better than the original if you prefer DKC over Mario64 type of games. I need to replay it sometime.
“Antique Mall”
Wait I might be way behind the curve on this one.. Why are Furbys tough to show on camera? Is the company that strict about it?? like what lol
Mans wants to burn linking park cd's and he's hanging with them on the hunt lol
If it has an area that sells food, with a place to sit and eat, it's a flea market. Lacking that, it's more a thrift/antique shop.....
❤
