I replaced the water pump and thermostat on my girlfriends 528 xDrive N52 last fall when I was 65. No lift, so I was using a creeper. Fairly easy job on RWD BMWs, not so much on AWDs since you have the extra crossmember. I was sore for the next two days!

My shop said the transmission is about to fail.
Tired of fixing this car, which I loved, and bout a hybrid xse Camry.
Not nearly as fast but 40+ mpg and much more reliable. 100,000 mile warranty. On top of the 30,000 it had on it.

People like the perceived prestige of driving a used BMW or any other European luxury vehicle but chances are unless they are the original owner they are stretching their budget to try and impress people they will never meet by driving a vehicle they can't afford to both buy AND properly maintain.

The most important part of this video was getting a used OEM water pump and putting it on until he got the new OEM pump in. Why is this important? He could have easily went and got an aftermarket water pump delivered from a parts store and sent the car. However, that is not what this shop is about. Or he could have said we can't get a water pump from BMW for months so we can't fix your car. He found the perfect solution to six the problem correctly as to what his shop does. As a result, that customer is not gonna go anywhere.

I had a 2001 Isuzu vehicross that was built like a tank. I drove it to nearly 200,000 miles before a check engine light came on. Then, that was just a sensor. When i traded it at 200k miles, I still got around 9k for it. I don't know why automakers don't build cars like that Isuzu. It was the most solid car I ever owned. Never gave me any problems. The only other car I've had similar to that was a 2016 Mazda cx5. If somebody hadn't of pulled out in front of me at 55mph I would still be driving it. I had 155,000 miles on it and it had never given me any issue. I've also owned 2 bmw's now. They're trash cars. The amount of problems I've seen in bmw's is because of the designers of the cars. Its like the developers are so smart they intentionally design parts on bmw's to fail so greedy dealerships can make more profits. I don't think luxury cars are actual luxury anymore.
