- Aangan was the most popular novel of Khadija Mastoor that came out in 1962 and won the Adam Gee Award the very same year due to its sheer brilliance. It was written in the backdrop of the Indian partition, but the story primarily shows the ups and downs of one large family in the mist of all the ideological and political chaos at the time.

Creative begining of video. Impressive.
Aag ka darya is superb but its really hard to read if person doesnot have good urdu diction.
Amrita Pritam's Pinjar (skeleton) is an awesome read as well. It hard for the reader to depict whats gona happen next in the story.
I came to know about the novel Aangan after watching drama teaser few months ago. I will read it definitely. I wish I watched this review earlier.

Just read novel and you won't miss anything skipping drama.. I watched few episodes coz it never get uploaded to RUclips and it was pretty average..
As for Aag Ka Darya, I started reading back in 2009, but left after reading few pages. I should give another try now.

Sir , I'm 9 grade student and my urdu teacher is Awesome. He suggested me to read awaz e dost , aag ka darya , udas Nasilin and alchemist.. I've read the alchemist...
Please suggest me some more books and Do a review on aag ka darya ... Someone told me that it's isn't simple as it seems...
First, bravo to you if you have read these books. It's hard to recommend books coz your taste/interest could be different than mine, but I would say focus more on Urdu classics like Ashfaq Ahmad, Bano Qudsia, Abdullah Hussain, Intizaar Hussain, Tarar Sb, Yousufi Sb, etc. Just don't read only "good" books, you also want to read "bad" literature in order to differentiate between the two.
I haven't read Aag Ka Darya, but it's definitely in my to-do list.

Novel is very good. You highlighted just era, n chronicles related to it. But you fail to appreciate the beauty of relationships woven in this novel. It's master piece of emotions involved in relationships, insani fitrat ko badi khubsuratise isme bataya gaya hai. Novel have that mch potential so that it can be study material of psychonalisis. So dear feel the depth n power of writer.
Appreciate your observations.. I was expecting something bigger out of this novel, but nonetheless it was a good read.
