  • If you're tired of battling stubborn weeds in your lawn that just won't go away, I've got an amazing solution for you. In this video, we'll show you how using citric acid and urea can make your herbicide super effective. Get ready to say goodbye to those pesky weeds once and for all!
Improved Coverage and Adhesion: Urea acts as a natural surfactant, allowing your herbicide solution to spread evenly across the leaves of the weeds. This ensures better coverage and enhances adhesion, preventing the solution from beading up and ensuring that the herbicide stays in contact with the targeted weeds. With enhanced coverage, the weeds can efficiently uptake the herbicide, maximizing its impact.
Accelerated Herbicide Action: Urea, being a fertilizer, works hand in hand with your herbicide to speed up its effectiveness. As the weeds take in the urea, they also absorb the herbicide, mistaking it for a nutritious meal. This dual action ensures that the herbicide gets to work faster, delivering a potent dose of weed control that is sure to eradicate those pesky invaders.
pH Optimization: Citric acid, a readily available food product, proves invaluable in scenarios where high pH levels hinder herbicide performance. By lowering the pH, citric acid creates a slightly acidic environment that enhances the efficacy of herbicides, particularly those containing the same active ingredients found in SpeedZone. This optimization ensures that the herbicide works efficiently, targeting and eliminating a broad spectrum of weeds.
Overcoming Hard Water Challenges: If you're dealing with hard water, citric acid can be a lifesaver. Hard water contains high levels of calcium and magnesium, which can interfere with the performance of herbicides. By incorporating citric acid into your herbicide mix, you effectively chelate these minerals, preventing them from hindering the herbicide's effectiveness. This helps you overcome the challenges posed by hard water and ensures optimal weed control.
Don't settle for mediocre weed control when you can unlock the full potential of your herbicides with urea and citric acid as adjuvants. Subscribe to our channel and hit the notification bell to stay updated on the latest strategies for achieving a pristine lawn. Together, let's bid farewell to those persistent weeds and create a beautiful, weed-free lawn that you can be proud of!

Since I'm getting comments on it already, I'll address this. I 100% pronounced "adjuvant" wrong. I'm definitely not perfect. For those that want to know how it is pronounced, it is add-juh-vent. I should've taken the time to look up the proper pronunciation instead of assuming I was saying it right. I'll be better. Sorry everyone.

I do commercial applications of lawn weed sprays, among other things, and we use speedzone quite a bit. We don't do a home mix for our adjuvant, but we do use a chemical surfactant called Syltac and/or Ranier-Surfactant.
The big thing to remember with speedzone is that you can not use it in 70°plus temperatures, or it'll burn your lawn.

Adding urea or ams as an adjuvant is good. The ams is an acidifier.
Also... Spot spraying with the fertilizer adjuvants might make for some uneven growth spurts where you spray vs don't spray.
Great vid. Love that it's backed up by some science to explain why instead of just "how".

If you have tunnels going through your lawn that collapse when you step on them, it's definitely moles. Take care of those first. I've had the best success with traps.

It seems that all you "lawn youtubers" just copy each other. One guy says add ammonium sulfate and another says add citric acid and then everybody just starts stating the same things. Its ridiculous.
First off, just because you are adding these adjuvants doesn't absolutely mean it increases their efficacy. Each active ingredient in the "3 way" or "4 way" mix as you called it has a different mode of action. So adding adjuvants could actually decrease the efficacy over the long haul. Most people just want instant results which usually means it doesn't allow the herbicides to kill according to the mixture of active ingredients.
Secondly, adding nitrogen (46 - 0 - 0 )? Really? I think you need to do a little research before just cloning what every other youtuber thinks is the magic mix. If you add nitrogen to the mix and apply it to a cool season grass that has had recent fert application you are begging for disease. Especially if temperatures have warmed up during the night.
Thirdly, you should test your water ph and hardness to determine what to add. You just can't tell people to add citric acid. Really!?
Professionally, you should understand and know the mode and site of action of each herbicide. Why? Because using a "3 way" or "4 way" every application will increase the chance of weed resistance to the active ingredients over time. You should always rotate different modes of actions to decrease the chance of weed resistance.
Also, did you only use 1 gallon of water because it looked like at least 2 gallons in the white bucket.
I think what you are doing is fine, but I think you need to do a little more research and critical thinking and real tests before telling people what to do.
"100 percent add adjuvants?" I personally and professionally think your test/video shows that the 24 hours of delay that the non adjuvant herbicide shows that it works just as well and is not worth the extra money or hassle of mixing the adjuvants. And again, as I state before, a systemic kill is a long term kill. Just because the weed is wilting does not mean that the weed was killed and could have prematurely wilted before letting the main ai absorb foliar.

    • @LAWNLIFE
      @LAWNLIFE  Год назад +4

I swear some of you come on here, watch videos, and complain just to complain.
Yes I REALLY used nitrogen. I used 0.1 lbs of N per K. That’s barely anything. People spoon feed double that weekly. You are not increasing your potential of disease over that small amount of nitrogen, even if they did have a recent fertilizer application.
As for the citric acid, if you listened, I said MULTIPLE TIMES that IF you have a high pH and hard water to add it. I didn’t say to add it no matter what.
For the average homeowner, they are not going out and spraying herbicide on their lawn multiple times a year, every year, to increase weed resistance to one certain mode of action. It takes several years to become resistant at a MINIMUM. You’re acting like these people are going to spray a 3-way twice and have resistance the following year. I’m trying to help people with a weed infested lawn kill as much as they can at one time.
And I used 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft, like I mentioned with the graphics and said in the video. So I used 3.5 gallons to cover my 3500 sq ft.
Look, I understand you probably get frustrated with “Lawn RUclipsrs”, but it’s grass man. I’ve gotten hundreds of emails telling me how I’ve helped people out with their lawns. If you want to hate “Lawn RUclipsrs” that’s fine. Go watch something else then. Go start your own channel. Go start a business.
