YES!!! That would be the ultimate goal! I think the best way is to continue developing it within photoshop for a while as there are still more improvements to be made. Hopefully by the time it's almost perfect there will be a larger following and enough support to move away from photoshop.
@staycompassionate3811 Absolutely but it will take a little while, even to get the plugin to this point cost a few thousand bucks so with the size of the channel at the moment it will take a little while before I can afford to hire a programmer again but it will definitely happen. The good news is the response so far has been amazing so it will happen sooner then I was planning before. In the meantime, I will be making a video or two showing you guys how to create your own bridges and working on some test code in the background to figure out how it will all work.
I am a stencil painter who really doesn't know anything about PS. I saw this and immediately repurchased, joined your channel and downloaded the plug in. I uploaded my next photo and 20 minutes later I had a workable, 4-layer, stencil. THIS IS AMAZING. I slept on it and decided that I wanted to emphasize a part of the photo, and crop out other parts, remove the background and remake the stencil. I did this. Unfortunately, when Wicked made the stencil, the image (which is like 30% more narrow) was cut off on the top and the bottom. Can Carlos or anyone else tell me how to fix this issue? Your advice is much appreciated.
This is sick. One question though, I guess you still have to check the layers and manually add bridges for pieces that might be alone and not connected with other parts of the same color which otherwise will fall off when you cut the masks. I saw another comment saying how it would be great in the future to go a step further and leave photoshop to make your OWN software. Hope this works out one day and you can focus on more details and features like the one I just mentioned🙏
Yes that is right, right now you have to add bridges manually but my programmer has figured out how to add automatic bridges which we hope to add soon. Especially with all the controversy around adobe these days it is something I have thought about alot and will be looking into the possibility to do that.
@@WickedPaint Well hope everything goes well I think that your idea and work will stand out more even in the form of a simple app with basic features . Thanks for the reply
Discovered this video by accident. Just purchased the plug in and cannot WAIT to start making stencils. Currently looking at a Cricut to use as well as I just think making them by hand will be SO much harder overall! Is there a video about best way to cut them out by hand at all before the Cricut arrives? Already ordered a skateboard deck to test as well.
That's awesome! Welcome to the hobby of stencil art! Having a cricut is a huge time saver but cutting by hand just takes a bit more patience. I don't have any videos on cutting by hand yet but all you need is some nice sharp blades and a good cutting matt.
Thanks glad you enjoy the content. Usually with colours like skin tones or tshirts I would separate those areas before running the stencil Plugin so I can control those areas individually. I will have to make a few more advanced videos for artists such as yourself to explain this process a bit better.
thank you thank you ! I am starting out my clothing brand and God knows this is exactly what I needed after having bought my criccut. Thank you for your work have a nice day
If this was as simple as upload a photo and it make any multilayer stencil with bridges already I bet this would be a hit. Nothing like that exist and for the less techy ppl this would appeal to them as not everyone is good or familiar with photoshop. Look forward to the day 🤞🏽👍🏽
Yes that is the goal and also making it accessible to everyone. Only thing standing in the way is the cost of hiring programmers but one day we'll get there

Any update on a newer version wich will have the bridges? I'd be interested int that. That's from withholding on buying it at the moment.. And a place to buy it outside of the market place would be great too..
Yeah that will be my next video, showing the whole process of bringing in an image, creating layers and cleaning them up before exporting for cutting on a cricut.
Looks great - I am intrigued but wish I could try it out before buying it. It looks like exactly what I do step by step so I'm not sure if it will speed things up for me or not. Most of the time I spend making stencils is spent doing cleanup and making sure the lines are clean, and I think I'd still have to do that after your plugin makes the layers. Also, just out of curiosity - What are you using for paper for your stencils? Is that just regular posterboard or cardstock?
You are right, it still takes a bit of time to clean up and add the bridges but you get alot more control over how much detail you add to the stencil. You can also experiment with the number of layers really quickly without duplicating the image a bunch of times. If your not happy with it Adobe will always give you a refund. Personally I prefer to use posterboard for my stencils as I can always recycle the waste.
Yes of course, after you prepare your stencils in photoshop then you can scale up or down to the size you want to paint your stencils. For A0 size I would scale it up in photoshop first though just to check if there are areas I might want to add a few bridges to make it hold together better.
Wow that was quick, thank you for the support and with your help the plugin will get even better. If you have any questions then feel free to get in touch. Yes you can use these stencils to cut on the Silhouette too.
Hi, glad to hear you like the plugin and enjoy using it. Yes you can change colors of each layer before you click ok-just click on the little square that has the different grey square next to the number for each layer and select the color you want!
So once Wicked makes the stencil layers, how do you convert them to vector files to send to a cut out machine? Is it an easy process? Does it involve illustrator at all or only photoshop??
I use a Cricut to cut most of my stencils so I export them as a PNG files which work great on the cricut. I will be making a video soon using a laser cutter and will show everyone how to convert the PNG files into SVG which is more suitable for lightburn software.
Bought the plugin today. Can't wait to get home and start playing with it to see what it can do. Also looking forward to seeing future tutorials that go into more detail on getting the best results from your plugin. Cheers

Thanks, unfortunately it will not work with older versions of Photoshop as to get the preview window working we had to use a new form of coding language that was introduced in the last couple of versions of photoshop. Hello Wicked. I just bought this plugin but I am wondering a few things after I tried it out. I can't make or see the animation you show and my stencils are not accurate as they fill shapes in lower stencils that are not useful or it gets some islands with no bridges to it. Do I have the updated version of the plugin? Thank you in advance!
Hello, thanks for your purchase and supporting this awesome plugin. It does not create bridges...yet but that will be added in future updates. (This is the first version that we have released). If you look at the way I create my stencil art ( watch painting part of video) I prefer to fill in my under layers so there are no gaps when you paint the upper layers. If you are not happy with the way it performs then feel free to message me at wickedpaintairbrush@gmail.com and I do my best to come up with a resolution to the issue.
thank you so much for the fast response. I am ancious for the next version, if you can somehow detect islands and make bridges it would be a HUGE plus! It will work with colored images but you will have to select the color you want for each layer. It works better on realistic images then cartoon images though.

I definitely have plans to add that as a feature and have a couple of ideas on how to achieve it. It was a lot of work to get it this far so we decided to release this as version 1 and will add more features in future updates. If you have any feedback after trying it out then feel free to message me and I will try to include that in future updates.
What stencil machine do you recommend if I am just starting ? Thank you
If your just starting I would recommend cutting one by hand to see if you like and enjoy stencil art. If you do then a Cricut is great to start with and you will really appreciate it after cutting by hand too.
Also, I don't know if possible, but perhaps an option to ignore small lines up to 3 pxs, for example. Thank you again for your amazing work and videos! You're awesome!

Hello, greetings, excuse me if I become a member of the channel by what means would I get the plugin? Thank you in advance.
Hello, yes you can get it by becoming a member of the channel or you can buy it from the Adobe cloud...up to you.
@@WickedPaint If I have the Photoshop 2022 version, will it work for me? :c
@rayomcqueen98 yes it will work in photoshop 2022
yeeii Which platform benefits you the most from what I bought it on? To support you directly 😊
Thanks for your support, it is very much appreciated! You can purchase it through Adobe cloud and that would be the best way. I am using most of the funds to develop it further and make it even better for everyone.
how are you cutting out the stencils can your transfers those into Lightburn?
I am exporting the files as png and cutting them on a cricut. I have had a few people asking about lightburn, I think I will give it a try.
I would prefer to buy it directly from you, please make that happen, not on photoshop
how do i install the plugin, new to the thing thnx
@jonathandemontigny6065 sorry for the slow reply, did you manage to figure out how to install it?
HI! Does this plugin work for AFFINITY PHOTO?
@@mirokantolic9036 no sorry it only works with photoshop at the moment
what about images that already have colors? Will it automatically separate them or would I need to or will it even work with already colored images?
It will work with colored images but you will have to select the color you want for each layer. It works better on realistic images then cartoon images though.
hey, I have a question whether the plugin will work on photoshop version 19.1.5
Will this plug-in work in Affinity Photo?
This plugin only works with Photoshop and has not been tested with Affinity Photo, sorry.
Will this work for older versions of ps , like 2018. Ver 19.0
No sorry this will only work with newer versions of Photoshop due to the coding in the Plugin that takes advantage of some new features only recently implemented by Adobe.
which photo shop do you use
I am using version 25.9 at the moment
@@WickedPaint how do i download it i bought for the plugin but don't have the right photoshop I'm currently using affinity photo 2
just bought the plugin... but creative cloud says "not compatible" and doesnt allow me to download it. how do i get the plugin? i want to install it manually. (I have Photoshop Version 24.4.1 on Windows 11)
Hey bought the plug-in but my stencils don’t come with the lines that keep it in place after it’s cut
Hey they should definitely be there, try switching them to black and adjusting their position. If that doesn't work then you can send me a copy of your image and I'll be happy to take a look for you
do you know if it works in GIMP
No this plugin will not work with GIMP, but there is a plugin called GMIC for GIMP that you can try
HI i bought the plugin but i don't see how i can donwload it

Hi, it should download automatically and install itself under the plugin tab. Maybe close photoshop and re-open it.

Thank you!
I’m having some issues matching the color

Does anyone know if this plugin works in Photoshop Elements?
No it has not been tested with Photoshop elements so I don't think it will but your welcome to try.
Does anybody know how to do something similar using Pixlr? Thank you
Thanks for letting me know about Pixlr, I took a quick look but could not find any functions related to making stencils.
I've just got a membership and downloaded the plugin from google drive and installed it it it says the plugin is expired. How would I fix it?

Sorry I have not tested it with photoshop elements so I am not sure if it will work.
that's awesome
Hello again, I already bought the plugin and when I tried to download it, it says that the version I have is incompatible. In the information I see that you are the developer of the plugin. If I show you the invoice where I made the purchase, could you send me the plugin by mail? Or in another way, please tell me how I can get my money back? By the way, the version of Photoshop I have is 25.5.
Hello, sorry to hear your having trouble installing the plugin. The plugin does work with 25.5 but sometimes the adobe creative cloud on your machine needs to be updated for it to work properly so I would check that first. If your still having issues then send me an email and I can help you further.
@@WickedPaint thank you very much
Did you send me an email? I have had no contact with you and all your comments are still here.
@@WickedPaint Hello, I meant my email address, sorry for my bad English, I think those messages where my email address was are the ones that were deleted, anyway, please help me get your plugin, I already updated the adobe creative cloud and the situation did not change, it keeps saying that my version of photoshop is not compatible
ok sure, can you try sending me an email to wickedairpaintbrush@gmail.com
I was going to buy the plugin but its not compatiable with photoshop 23 its only compatiable with photoshop 24+ :(
Hi, it's me again, I still haven't been successful in downloading the plugin and I don't know what else to do.
I already posted two messages here with my email because you told me you could help me in this way, but I think that because I put my email they have been deleted.
Please tell me what I can do, I need to use the plugin, I'm desperate.
