    I am a stencil painter who really doesn't know anything about PS. I saw this and immediately repurchased, joined your channel and downloaded the plug in. I uploaded my next photo and 20 minutes later I had a workable, 4-layer, stencil. THIS IS AMAZING. I slept on it and decided that I wanted to emphasize a part of the photo, and crop out other parts, remove the background and remake the stencil. I did this. Unfortunately, when Wicked made the stencil, the image (which is like 30% more narrow) was cut off on the top and the bottom. Can Carlos or anyone else tell me how to fix this issue? Your advice is much appreciated.

      I use a Cricut to cut most of my stencils so I export them as a PNG files which work great on the cricut. I will be making a video soon using a laser cutter and will show everyone how to convert the PNG files into SVG which is more suitable for lightburn software.

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks, unfortunately it will not work with older versions of Photoshop as to get the preview window working we had to use a new form of coding language that was introduced in the last couple of versions of photoshop.
      I think the script I used prior to the plugin might work though- take a look at my video of painting harry styles. That was the first version that snowballed into this plugin which will hopefully snowball into something even better in the future. Let me see if I can find a copy of CS6 to test it on and get back to you.

    This is sick. One question though, I guess you still have to check the layers and manually add bridges for pieces that might be alone and not connected with other parts of the same color which otherwise will fall off when you cut the masks.
    I saw another comment saying how it would be great in the future to go a step further and leave photoshop to make your OWN software. Hope this works out one day and you can focus on more details and features like the one I just mentioned🙏

    • @WickedPaint

    Looks great - I am intrigued but wish I could try it out before buying it. It looks like exactly what I do step by step so I'm not sure if it will speed things up for me or not. Most of the time I spend making stencils is spent doing cleanup and making sure the lines are clean, and I think I'd still have to do that after your plugin makes the layers. Also, just out of curiosity - What are you using for paper for your stencils? Is that just regular posterboard or cardstock?

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  4 месяца назад +1

      You are right, it still takes a bit of time to clean up and add the bridges but you get alot more control over how much detail you add to the stencil. You can also experiment with the number of layers really quickly without duplicating the image a bunch of times. If your not happy with it Adobe will always give you a refund. Personally I prefer to use posterboard for my stencils as I can always recycle the waste.

      Adobe only take a 2-3% of sales on creative cloud so it's a great way to support the author and encourage us to make our plugins even better.

    What about islands/bridges? I'd imagine that all still has to be done manually?

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  8 месяцев назад +2

      Great question and right now you still have to do the bridges manually.
      I ran out of funds to get to that point as programmers are really expensive but hopefully, if this is successful I can do an update this time next year with a bridge function.

      Just got the plugin and it’s great. I really REALLY would like the island/bridge function. I’d pay much more than $20 for a version that does that automatically. Maybe you should do a video on bridges. I have complex digital images I want to stencil out getting the bridges right is the most frustrating thing. Thanks again for the plug-in!

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  8 месяцев назад +3

      Fantastic!! So glad to hear you like the plugin and with this sort of response I might have to get started on Version 2 sooner than I thought. I have a couple of ideas on how to do it but have to do a lot of testing before I ask a programmer to integrate it as they charge $$$$ per hour.
      I will definitely be making a few videos on bridging in the meantime. @@jodiefostermatrix5995

      @WickedPaint  8 месяцев назад

      You can get a plugin for Gimp called Gmic which has a tool in that that almost does something like this. I did try to contact them to try to develop this for their software but they where not really that interested.

    • @jeremyhughel3756

      big fan of your stuff know what the tool is called??
      @@WickedPaint

    • @WickedPaint
      @WickedPaint  8 месяцев назад

      If you go down to layers in gmic and then go to colour by layer it will separate each colour to a layer. It is the closest thing to this but if you don't align all your layers correctly then there is a small gap in between them. The plugin I developed is a bit different as its based on the threshold which is the tool most use to create their stencils.
