    Tell this to all of those who are judging you for you sharing your teaching experiences in your classroom .
    " Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. " - Matthew 7:1-5
    They are judging you as a teacher for quite possibly helping those who seek to be teachers and who is helping me come around to some of the things that I have experienced from my teachers from my school days when I was an autistic sped student and they themselves are on real thin ice with God .
    Regardless if it's your 2nd year or your 20th you are still ateacher and should be looked up to as such .
    Speaking again as a former school sped student now stay at home adult in Shelbyville , Tennessee I say that I enjoy your teaching / classroom vlogs and those who would make such comments judging against you I say delete those kind of comments .
    Life is too short for people to be doing things that cause them to fuss and murmur over every little thing especially when it comes to watching vlogs by an educator who educates young minds who don't always get that choice to avoid everything that causes them to fuss or murmur .
    Keep smiling , stay your beautiful looking self , keep hope alive .
    If only I were to have had you or the likes of you as one of My Teachers in my early elementary school days those times would have been a bit more positive and less shakey .
    - Dwight

    I also read to help with behavior is a little game each morning u start a count down @10 and if someone in class is loud does something wrong or breaks a rule it goes down to 9 ect . at end of day what ever the number is at u can use it as a point reward system or minutes system. And make up a reward goal. If you reach 100 pts end of the day Friday we play a game ect. There's different ways to come up with fun goals for students to reach . Especially in winter months not being able to have out door recess. I think it helps build team work and maybe helps some with behavior issues .

    Another classroom behavior management I have used is giving them tickets to buy things from my store. They earn their tickets individually.

    I'm a 2.5-3.5 year old teacher and I don't pay any attention to tantrums that are caused by no reason / if I said no to something they want. I ignore it. 🙄😁

    Madison, I have used the group points rewards and it works. I used to give the winning group a gummy bear or a sour patch. They really worked for it.

    Hello I’m new to your channel and I love your videos so far I am in college to be a teacher this is my seconddegree now and I just had a few questions for the beginning of the year and how you address your students.
    aside from asking or telling your students what it is that you expect from them, do you ever give your students the opportunity to tell you, what they expect from you what they haven’t had or learned from other teachers & where they lacking so you can help improve that and improve their perception of teachers?

    Hi Madison, I am a first year 2nd grade teacher in Arizona. I am wondering what advice you have for a first year teacher in 2nd grade

    • @madisonleighmaryan
      @madisonleighmaryan  2 года назад

      Just know it will be hard and you will make mistakes but that doesn't mean you are a bad teacher. The best teachers CARE and by asking this question I can already tell you care :) You'll do great! Take it one day at a time and have lots and lots of patience. You got this.

    What consequences do you use? I am really struggling with this as I really hate using recess but don’t know what else to do!! I am hoping I can reset the tone for my class coming back from Christmas break as it has just gotten so bad with behavior kids and disrespect. We have very little support from admin… they get to go play basketball when they cause problems and then come right back to class with no consequences if I ask for help. 😕

      @madisonleighmaryan  2 года назад +3

      Hey girl! This is so hard. I often take away iPad time as a consequence, but I understand not all schools are 1-1 on iPads. Another great and simple consequence is silent time with their head down. My kids loath sitting still so they really don't want to earn silent time. Simple but effective!

    • @summz13ify
      @summz13ify 2 года назад +1

      @@madisonleighmaryan We do have 1-1 chrome books so I think I will try to use that more! Silent time sounds like it may work with some of my kids as well. Thanks!!

    How do you deal with a student who has walked out of class, I have some students that really test me and some threaten to leave without permission

    • @madisonleighmaryan
      @madisonleighmaryan  2 года назад +1

      Ugh, hate that for you. That can be really frustrating. At the end of the day, the kiddos IN your classroom are your main priority so I really hope your admin is helpful when it comes to that kiddo running out. You should not be in charge of chasing them down. You're doing your best! You got this.
