I also noticed that she improved her singing in 2012 drastically, as compared to her early years with Nightwish (I used to hate her in 2008-2009 because she was out of tune too often, but in most live recordings from 2012 that's not the case). She sure did. I was expecting to see her in 2012 at their concert in Rio de Janeiro, but 2 days after I bought my tickets, she left the band. 🙄 After they release Imaginaerum her vocals improved a lot, like you said and I was loving it.

I love of course Tarja's version she is perfect to her song but unfortunately Annette has different but beautiful voice very colourful and she isn't soprano like Tarja and in this performance is pregnant and few days after they fired her 😱.
Anette ane Tarja is something different, like all people. Each one has a different grace and style. This song is written for Tarja's voice, because it has high level melodies that match with operatic vocals. Anette made her effort to this song. Personally, I respect her effort, despite the fact that is not a song for her. Maybe the band should not present this song live with Anette. Never mind, however.

If you want to believe me,i prefer Annette's singing to this. Some times the cover maybe is different but that's no means that it's bad. Over the hills and far away ,i knew this song from Garry Moore and I loved but I like Tarja's version too. You know what i mean 😉?
It doesn't mind if we not agree between us. Each has his/her own opinion. Each Nightwish song melody is adjusted in a different vocalist. They have changed two vocalists with a third. Over the Hills and Far Away was originally sung by Gary Moore. So, Nightwish covered this song.

Tarja has a unique type of voice, very dark operating voice, especially those years, after the first album DPP in the performances Annette must sung enough songs from the previous albums because they had few new songs to perform. After Imaginearum tour they had more new songs to perform. That is the reason who Annette must singing Tarja's songs. The second reason was that NW fans wanted some old famous songs, like Nemo, ghost love score .... Imagine Floor in Wacken 2013 who sung songs from the previous singers and no one of her because she has not album with NW yet. 😂.

I've seen Nightwish twice in the NYC area...the most the had were shy of 270+...
When I saw them in Anaheim during the decades tour they had 1.5k at the very least.
I just stumbled on Floors version ( not the best sound ) she kills its and she's reading the lyrics from the monitor throughout.
