  • Celia Acosta describes herself as a very “external person.” She loves to socialize and be out in the community to promote values that are important to her such as mental health, self care, equity and justice. At a young age, Celia was around social workers at home and at school, and it quickly became a passion she wanted to pursue. She is living out her goals at New Mexico State University’s College of Health, Education and Social Transformation. She says NMSU was the right choice for her and describes the comradery she feels with her peers as something unique. Celia is very involved in NMSU’s sorority community, and as a Las Cruces native, she feels that being able to attend NMSU and give back to the community she was raised in is very important to her.
