What is great about this Ben Hogan iron is that it is a combo set of four different construction from 4-5 iron to 9 and pitching wedge. Brilliant.

James, I Played the Ben Hogan blades when I was in High School and they are still to this day the best set of irons that I have ever played. You have got me wanting a set of these irons for sure.

Great review. The only disappointment is that the pitching wedge is designated with a "P" and not an "E"! For those that are too young to remember, Hogan called the pitching wedge the great equalizer and therefore earlier Hogan irons had an "E" on the pitching wedge.

I liked the Ben Hogan driver and rescue club. It was awesome being able to try them out for 2 weeks for like $20 usd. I wish they did that still so I could try the different shafts to find the one that suited me best

I remember caddying for guys that played Hogan’s back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. I’d actually try and always get on a bag that had irons like them because they were blades. And guys that used blades were usually decent golfers and I knew I wouldn’t be searching for out of bounds balls all day long.

Great review James, I commented a few days ago about Hogan coming out with new irons and was happy to see you got these on here but these actually came out about 3 months ago I think but Hogan just came out with 4 brand new sets of irons and they are just as beautiful I ended up ordering the new Hogan Fort Worth MB's and can't wait to get them they look absolutely amazing I have played Hogan clubs for about 30 years now and it's great to see them continuing to come out with absolutely phenomenal irons I hope you game those for 2025 I don't think you are going to be disappointed...

This is without shadow of any doubt your best club review to date James. What a beautiful set of irons with SO much sentiment attached. My first ever set of irons were a half set of junior Hogans. I used them until I grew out of them.
This set though is stunning. The PW is very reminicent of the Mizuno TP18s...another of my favourite iron sets.
Golfers who can use these are very discerning and don't really care about distance and forgiveness. These are about consistency, control and accuracy.
My favourite release of 2025 so far. Thanks for the content James. Keep it up my good man!

One of the things l love about your channel is the DTC brand testing. Could you please reach out to Sub 70? The Sub 70 TAIII v2 CB Irons is super interesting as long irons, and I would love to see the Sub 70 TAIII v2 MB Irons as a blended set. Come to think of it, I would love to see a series on blended sets, just where does it make sense to blend? I know it depends on the brand and series, but I would love to see some kind of video on that. Last year I was playing ancient irons, well everything and decided to treat myself to a new(er) set. I can honestly afford anything I wanted but I refuse to pay a fortune because I have not played that much in the last few years. (Life). I want to like Sub 70, but they seem to be getting swallowed up, not enough press (some others as well). I like underdogs, I really want to support those that are building something competitive but lesser known. If that makes sense.

James, it’s reviews like this one that completely debunk the concept of “you must get fitted for irons”!
You bought them on Facebook, got some base numbers on simulator, hit the course and for some shocking reason could hit pretty much any shot you wanted (except that draw on the last section of the video).
I’m attempting some sarcasm here but my experience tells me that the need for fitted equipments is quite overrated. Perhaps the driver is the only club where fitting can yield a material difference.

I combo them up when conditions are really good.
They are very nice irons. Great feel, workability, and mostly consistent distances.
Recently got some Takomo 301CBs. I'm finding them good but not nearly as workable as the Hogans. We shall see which I end up playing. Playing.
I play them though. I don't 'game' them. That terminology needs to die a hard death.
