    Hwasa too has her struggles. But she has never openly talked about it. On one interview with Ho dong, she talked about her late uncle who was like a father figure to her. He paid for most of her expenses when she came to Seoul to be an idol. In 2017, she and the girls got into a small car accident. She didn’t know how, but her uncle found out and called her father to check up on her (so as to not bother her). Her father told her to call her uncle because he was worried but she told her dad that it wasn’t a big of a deal bc it was a small accident. So she didn’t call him. A few days later, her uncle passed away from a car accident. Losing someone so dearly to her so suddenly made her feel lost for some time.

    How to spot a non-fans/casual listener/newbie:
    1. Think Hwasa is all intimidating.
    2. Neglect the existence of MMM perfect child, Wheein.

      pole dancing in strip clubs get a bit dirty but even there, there are some women who don't take their clothes off while performing, some of the strippers are just pole dancers for the pole, but you make more money on stripping so yeah... does that make sense?

    I've loved this entire series. Mamamoo is so inspiring to me as they are artists, innovators, and just such great role models. I have never really had strong females to look up to, but I'm so glad to have gradually fallen for them as a team. They're are constantly breaking boundaries and trying out new approaches, which leaves me in awe. I wish they become successful for a long time and reap the rewards for all their hard work

    While the others are too obsessed with the richest idols, daughters/sons of chaebols, etc., I am more in love with how Mamamoo literally came from nothing. It's not because I pity them but because I am so proud how they have now established their names as one of the biggest SK stars. They struggled a lot and never gave up.

  • @leobelcolona4721
    @leobelcolona4721 3 года назад +9

    I think the most important aspect of Mamamoo is their fearlessness. Let's face it, concepts are just aesthetic. But to make a statement in a world that looks down on you (first, as a woman, and second, at the nature of their job), these women deserve recognition for challenging the norm. This is why I am lowkey annoyed when people compare Mamamoo to other GGs that "challenge" norms because... what norms are they talking about exactly? No one else spoke boldly against body shaming before Hwasa, no one else took the time to talk about comfort women and uncomfortable topics like genital mutilation like Solar.
    Let's give credit to where credit is due, but Mamamoo should be cemented as a group relevant not only for their singing but for their humanity as well.

    Mamamoo really inspire people a lot. You can really feel each of them as a “girl next door” or as your friend, how they look is different as how an idol do but it shows that it’s normal for us, moomoos, watching them in their pyjamas, and even without make up, they really show that they are just normal people too that will conquer the stage when they’re together because it’s their passion and love to perform every now and then. They endure so much through these years, so let’s support and love them forever, moomoos! ✨

    I don’t want to bring BTS into this because this is about Mamamoo but, I feel like it is relevant in that MAMAMOO and BTS, my ultimate stan groups EVER, use their platform, their music and their influence to give voices to those who may not have the same privilege and advantages they do. I personally think that K-pop and Asian culture in general aren’t ready for women as independent and powerful as Mamamoo; women who genuinely don’t give a fuck about the haters and who write and release music calling antis out. In many ways, I think that Mamamoo is BTS’ female counterpart, not in the sense of global fame or international recognition, but in that they make music about things that matter. I also love how experimental and unconventional they are regardless of whatever criticism or hate they might get. Whereas BTS has inspired my journey of self-growth, Mamamoo has inspired me to be bold and confident as a woman. Haters can hate and the only reason why they hate is because they can’t believe that a girl group from a small company, a girl group who doesn’t meet their impossible beauty standards, a girl group who speaks their minds are as successful as they are.

    • @mangmang6114
      @mangmang6114 3 года назад +3

      I think the same way, that's why they're my ultimate bias, i love how MMM told people it's not YOU that different it's just the society thought you're different and YOU have to show the society they don't own who you are, that we have the power on our life. I love how BTS tell us it's ok to grow with or without dreams just live to the fullest while loving yourself, and tell us love is universal. To conclude they both tell us to love ourselves with their own ways. And their hard work told us not to give up, i mean they both from small group who perform at the street to sold out tickets, from nothing to where they're right now, from other telling them they would be a failure to be successful group, Both are an absolutely LEGEND

    Hey, thanks for making this video and the other two. I am new MooMoo. I just knew about Mamamoo last july, to be exact on 30 July. When I was watching Jessi Nunu Nana the suggested MV is Hwasa - Maria. Being curious, I clicked and watch the whole MV and just got love at first sight with Hwasa hehe. Then I read the comment said that the three girls appear at the end of the MV are her group member, then my search continue. I don't know that Mamamoo exist before, and I am glad I finally know them. All of their songs are awesome, they are inspiring. Quenn! I've been listening to K-Pop since 2008 if I am not mistaken. Jewelry was the first GG that I know. But, bruh i dunno why I just know that Kpop have these talented girls. Stand Mamamoo forever

    Thank you for making another one of this compilation, I enjoy every single one of them. Tbh I never thought I would ever stan a kpop girl group, cuz when I first got into kpop I was still in middle school (yes I'm a second gen kpop fan) and I always thought that gg concept was too mundane for my taste since its always cater towards male audiences back then. My thoughts are simple: bgs are meant for girls and ggs are meant for boys. What a shallow mindset, I know, so imagine how suprised I am when I finally found a gg with 98% female fans 🤣 In 2012, I fell out of love from kpop, everything became too boring and scripted that I literally stay away from everything k-ent -related for years. But then in 2017, I stumble upon one of Mamamoo's life performances, and you know what, I just can't look away. I ended up binge watching every single one of their life stages after that, including the IS2 marathon that I still occasionally do until now (cuz once you see one, you can't stop until u see all of them. Isn't that right, moos? 😉) I just can't believe how refreshing it is to hear kpop with an actual live vocals and adlibs that sounds good, harmonious and stable, and to see choreographies that actually improving the stage performances instead of making the performer unnecessarily breathless, and to see artists that look like they genuinely enjoy their performances and can freely expressed it on their faces and not stay in the same facial expression for the entire song just for the sake of concepts, AND FINALLY TO SEE ARTISTS THAT ARE ACTUALLY INTERACTED WITH THE AUDIENCE WHILE PERFORMING like wtf?? At that time I thought it was so freakin revolutionary 😂 and thats when I decided I'm gonna follow this girls till the end. They'll be the first ever gg I actually gonna stan and support with my whole being. Not only that they are talented af, they all have humble personality, kind heart, great attitude, and amazing confidence that I probably will never have in my whole entire life, so what the hell can I do beside letting myself fall head over heels for them? Sure they ain't perfect, but they learn from their mistakes and always strive to better themselves while doing all of this wonderful deeds and keeps moving forward. Mamamoo is the one that erased all the prejudices I have towards kpop ggs, or towards all kpop act in general really, and they actually open up my heart to be more welcoming towards all of this amazing new groups. Now I stan a lot of kpop artists, whether its ggs, bgs, solo, duo, co-ed, and even k-bands, and thus will forever be gratefull that Mamamoo dragged me back into this thing that I used to enjoy a long time ago and even improved my experience with it :')
    TL;DR I know but I really need to get all of this out of my system and write all of my thoughts after watching ur amazing videos 🥰 pls keep doing what ur doing and make some more, subscribed 💕

      I feel you!! I joined into kpop world because of the 2nd gen too but not really a big fan of girl groups because I also feel that they all too mundane and nothing's unique and real unlike boy groups who mostly wrote their own music but after knowing MAMAMOO I was just so impressed and happy there's a girl group like them and tbh they set the standard so high that I even keep seeing weaknesses in the boy groups that I stan because MAMAMOO is just THAT GREAT!

    Irene is not beautiful as defined by Korean standards, she is just beautiful by any standard as, is Hwasa, Moonbuyl, Solar, Wheein, Joy, Seulgi, Hani, Tayeon etc, hundreds of Korean idols are beautiful outside of this crazy Korean beauty standards. Call me old fashioned but, it's the music that is the most important thing in the music industry. Have a great song who cares what you look like Jeez!

    I came to Mamamoo for a video called "como MAMAMOO está cambiando Corea" MoonByul caught my attention from the beginning so I looked them up on youtube, actually I am a feminist woman and I never thought that I would be interested in a Kpop group because of the industry. Since then, it has not been long, but I have come to rethink many deeply rooted ideas thanks to them (in addition to obviously laughing out loud with their nonsense and having something to be excited about)

    Watching the video gives me chills and that feeling in my stomach that makes me go "Yay I am so proud of these girls cum ' women '
    They are impeccably talented , humorous, real , true, sexy, smart, beautiful, cute and so conscious towards the cause of good of society!!!!!!"
    I came to kpop in 2020 through MAMAMOO before faintly have heard about BTS.......
    It's MAMAMOO that is my first group that I'll always Stan!!!!!!!
    I am super confident in coming years and so they are gonna be huge
    As BTS is unique among all the boy groups ..smae is MAMAMOO ....They are much different from other girl groups..
    All gg MV's are like so fancy , look super expensive and all the idols have the smae expression throughout you know that aggressive face ,
    On a personal level I don't like that aggressiveness shown by the idols
    But MAMAMOO is the only gg I have known whose mv seem fun, beautiful, a perfect themed one .....they seem to enjoy themselves and also the viewer whereas in others they tend to show dance visuals and expensive sets with hardly any concept....
    You know their MV's give a more homely feeling .....
    That's all I wanted to say
    SARANGHEYO UNNIE ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
    And all MOOMOOS!!!!!

    Everytime I watch an inspiring mamamoo video I'm like: ok, I can sing, I can dance, and I look decent and I'm asian. Time to go become a badass and powerful idol
    Then I sit back down and realize that there is only one group that is as inspiring and powerful as mamamoo, which is mamamoo, and the chances of becoming successful in their unique way like them is practically one in a million.
    Welp, time to go make some money and buy mamamoo albums and merchsksksk
