    The kitchen still came out nice. It has your touch. For that place to be vacant for over 20 years it is really crazy how that house has gone through so many seasons and the damage is really minimum. You guys really found a gem!! Only God!! Love the Land!! Glad you guys can be together daily. As always enjoyed the vlog can’t wait to see what’s next!! Love you guys!! 🥰

    We bought our house 7 years ago and we had to decide between renovating the bathroom or the kitchen before moving in and we chose bathroom, best decision! That meant we did a minor diy reno on the kitchen which saved us thousands! You’d be surprised what a little paint can do to your current kitchen, and when the time comes, make it everything you want and more. Store away the extra non-essentials, they’ll be there when you want them, and just live with a more minimal kitchen. Everything you need will fit, and you might be surprised how much you enjoy the simplicity! Enjoying going on this journey with you all 💛

    You could get a kitchen cart for extra storage. We had to get 2 carts for our first apartment. We needed extra storage, and it extended our counter.

    Also you have a fireplace! And I would absolutely have it inspected cause you have to keep warm and cook during blackouts and storms.
    Also that is wild onions and there are many wild sprouts and such to eat. Especially salads with dandelion blooms, sooo good!

    I don’t know if anyone has mentioned, but you could make a space in the basement to hold your bigger appliances and items you don’t use very often, but they’re still available to you for use when you’re ready.

    Those girls are so adorable! The kitchen looks good! You can also look for like an entry table or something that has storage to place the bigger things you wanna keep. Or even put like a storage based cabinet in the basement that has it as well !. For the things you are getting rid of, you should do a garage sale! You have goof stuff.

    • @HourPointOfView
      @HourPointOfView  5 месяцев назад

    You will need to create a workable pantry and then a storage pantry. Buy plastic drawers at 1st and then move them to the lost space in the basement that has the door to the outside!

  • @miniquerice

    1. Let that man have that tree 😂😂😂
    2. I literally had the SAME downsizing issue with my pantry and storage. Have you thought about rotating things out seasonally. For instance, designating mugs/dishes for each season and storing them away to have more storage and then when you see them again in the new season it’s a new appreciation for them.
    3. I went through the same thing with juggling Reno’s and kids. It’s HARD!
    4. You literally opened my eyes to not being afraid or wanting things to be together in showing my process or home. I have been very reserved in showing my space because it wasn’t to my liking. But knowing I can make things look beautiful even in their current stage is helpful! Thank you!

    "Hi, doggy!" 😂😂😂 aw so cute. On a side note, natural disasters in the Midwest is one of the the main reasons I'm afraid to live out there. We're in the desert right now and I've driven through a dust storm which was enough for me. And lived in Iowa for 3 months, experienced 60mph winds and saw a tornado trying to form nearby 😭

    I'm sorry you're doing through some not so fun changes. Older homes are so beautiful, but some things are definitely inconvenient. We're in older apartments with no dishwasher and they got the Renter's Special (EVERYTHING painted over in white lol. Even the metal cabinet doors.) But 7 people in 1100 sq ft is better than 7 people in one bedroom (been there). We make due and appreciate the bigger picture... and if course thank God for every blessing. 😊

    give the man his tree

  • @robinbrown7953
    @robinbrown7953 5 месяцев назад +1

    If you are a christian…be the bigger person, and dont be a jerk…maybe the man really didn’t know where the property line is…maybe he was told incorrectly about it…and better to be a good christian example, than start a fight with a neighbor….if you handle it correctly, things will work out much better, and maybe you will end up having a good neighbor in this man after all

    • @HourPointOfView
      @HourPointOfView  5 месяцев назад

      If I decided to cut down a tree that’s on my property, that wouldn’t be being a jerk. Cutting it down and throwing it in his yard would be. My frustration was created by my neighbor moving my property line pins after I paid $750 to have the company come and flag where they were. This happened while we were still in California. Then to “allegedly” plant a tree on my property while I live here and after we had a conversation about it. I think any reasonable person would be upset. However, you’re right it’s all about how you handle it.
      When I first met the man, the first thing out of his mouth was negative words about the property line. I kept it very peaceful with him and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I recently had to have a little conversation with him about him having a large truck on my property. I nicely explained to him my thoughts and kept it very Christ like with him. Let’s just say he hasn’t mentioned anything about the property line. He even invited me to join his Fantasy football league. 😇
