Totally agree about being social and not having a set routine. My kiddos and I LOVE our community. We live in a wonderful little town full of other young Catholic families and we spend a lot of time with them! It is so important for my husband and myself to cultivate that not only for ourselves but our kiddos. I set a normal rhythm but everyday is slightly different. It's just what works for us 🤷♀️

I am in a similar stage of life as you with one baby and loving being a keeper of the home. I totally agree with you about the naps. Thankfully I have a really easy going baby who will sleep just about anywhere. I agree too that it’s such an asset having sisters with older kiddos. As an auntie I’ve seen how quickly they grow and how short the time is - there’s no sense in sweating the small stuff. 💕

Beautiful peonies and what a treat that they let you cut them! I have been trying to fit in a cabinet or some sort of smaller declutter/organization project a couple times a week. I always end up being surprised how little time one takes so I do more! Nice to see that someone else does things similarly 😬

I should’ve known you were related to our oily house and farmhouse on Boone. You really look a lot like your sister from our oily house. I love them both so much. I look forward to their videos. I found you about two months ago and look forward to every Wednesday seeing you, I’m 74 years old. My children are grown been a homemaker for a lotta years. I did stay home till my kids were older and then went back to work. Retired and loving it and getting back to loving my home and cooking again.

I love having a rhythm too. I base meals of when certain veg needs using first and which nights I need quicker or hands off meals. I loved seeing your joy over those gorgeous peonies . Thank you for sharing lovely ❤

I have a bouquet of peonies on my table too! I adore them! Your stir fry looks delish! What a sweet episode. I’m sixty-two, but I remember those days with my babies. I miss those days, but I also know why the good Lord lets us have them young. Whew! I couldn’t do it now.😂

Many years ago I tried to get used to a cleaning routine and I realized that it was stressing me out more than anything. Now I just clean whenever it needs it. I don't have a weekly menu either, I just decide every morning what we will eat for dinner. It's just me and my husband, so it's pretty easy. I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in not following a certain routine.

I'm A grandmom, or mimi as I'm called😁, but when both my now adult kids were babies, like you, we never did the schedule thing. Sleeping or eating.. if they were sleepy, they sleept and if the were hungry they ate, when they were on a bottle or breast feeding or solids. It worked well for both my kids & myself. The peonies are so pretty🌸 TFS!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I like your perspective on the rhythm vs. routine. I always say that we have a patterned day rather than a scheduled day because that’s what works for me, my toddler and baby, and our farm/homestead life. It’s such a blessing to find a lifestyle that helps you to enjoy every step of being a mom!

I love to organize places!! I also agree with being flexible about housework etc. I’m not always good at it but not being tied to a routine can be refreshing!! Food looked delicious!!’

My scheudle is very loose . The only time it wasnt was when we had 4 kids , 3 with therpaies and multiple appointments, and sports . Nap time the least of our worries .

Oh, my gosh. This is the first time I have watched your channel, and twice I checked the maker name because I thought I had somehow popped into an Our Oily House video! I am so glad you gave us info on your sisters; I thought I was losing my mind. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it. I like your homemaking style, but find if I do one thing I hate doing or put off doing--if I find time to do it first or early on, it doesn't hang over my head and my whole attitude is much more cheerful and positive.

We have the breville barista express. I have to confess this was very generously gifted to me from a family member, so I didn't compare it to any other models or anything, but we do really like it a lot!

Mothers do not watch their children. They participate in raising their children. Goats have kids. Humans have children. Love your baby girl and fall in love with being a Mom. That is a huge blessing. Live in that blessing. Build your own routine and schedule that suits you. You are only accountable to yourself and your family. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us.

I'd also add that people need to stop referring to them as the L word. The reality of what people are saying when they say it is so repulsive that I shan't even type it. Rhymes with fiddles and (believe it or not!!) has ties to gross "adult" things...
