The strongest Paladin of Charlemange, bane of dragons and giants. Legendary badass that got angry a lot.
Fun fact, Durandal in Rolands legend translates to stone splitter or earth bane, which explains his np causing the very earth to break open and split apart before him during his np animation. Making him a much more viable user of it than both Hector and Manricardo.
Technically both Hector and Mandricardo have both aspect of Durandal; Hector has the "earth splitting" one (Durindana being a rocket missile) and Mandricardo has the "rainbow sword".

@@kman2384 I think k it's really weird too because of the paladins , Oliver is stated to be the best , the strongest , and the most straightforward person as well as being the most open-minded of the 12 . Astolfo and Charlie even say so at the end of Link mentioning that Oliver caught Astolfo crossdressing and stating that he looked good lol . I hope they give us Oliver soon .

@@mikkakisaragi8837 maybe you have seen how Roland moves each card and his NP animation. It looks like it's just a mix of Gawain and Lancelot's moves and it's almost the same. Moreover, the character designs (especially the face and hair) made me think so until this joke came up. Wasn't Roland also the strongest knight in his group? Much like Lancelot can even compete in terms of ability. It's just that he's in his gorilla Buster form. Again like Gawain...

Lancelot and Gawain are totally *gay* with each other. And it is mentioned a lot in some literature, even the greatest literature such as the Vulgate and Le Morte or by Troyes is actually a source.

He had Durandal, it's just that it would be nearly impossible to fight the monster with a sword while leaning off the edge of a boat waiting for it to surface.
He actually doesn't _need_ armour at all. His skin is supposed to be completely invincible except for the soles of his feet. Also, fully nude would be him summoned as a Berserker, not Saber.

I wish Gawain had a single target np like Roland. Tristan and Lancelot got ST NP, but they had to make Gawain an AOE NP. Look how good Roland is with that ST NP. He's everything Gawain could have been. This is coming from a LV. 100 Gawain stan.
Good kit all around. Pretty self sufficient. Don't know the final values, but that 3rd skill having a base 5T CD is cool. And the AoE Buff Removal is great.
Not the biggest fan of his animations. The initial Buster attacks look kinda jank. I like the Extra, though I wish it had just a touch more.
He better have a costume that's naked, but has various changing anime-typical censorships like steam, white lights, black bars, etc. though, or I'll be severely disappointed.

But its name Durandal literally translates to stone splitter.
