The different character physics isn’t a glitch, it’s just different heights, and therefore different fireball spawn positions
Yeah but the game is designed so characters are equal as to make multiplayer fair. That's why toad isn't fast and luigi isnt the best jumper. Everyone should be equal.
Since this is probably a leftover mechanic from Mario U, I'd say it's an oversight

In the Donkey Kong Country games that Retro Studios worked on, (Returns and Tropical Freeze to be precise) Donkey Kong and his partners could do roll jumps which were actually intentional unlike in Super Mario Maker 2 where it wasn't!

Sorry, didn't know that. From the original trilogy that Rare did I only played DKC 2 Diddy's Kong Quest, and I didn't think to try the mid-air roll jump there, nor did I see anyone else do it.

Actually, the character difference with the "Can't/Can activate the Bob-Omb with fireballs" is not a glitch, more of a thing from the characters themselves.
You see, Mario and Luigi being taller, their arms are higher than Toad and Toadette's arms, so the fireballs travel enough distance to hit the Thwomp before touching the Bob-Omb.
However, Toad & Toadette having arms that are on a lower level, the fireball directly hits the Bob-Omb.
INDIE GAMING that sounds completely reasonable, but I think the reason they still showed it off was because Nintendo made it clear that none of the characters was gonna play any different from the others (because online and everything) and with this some levels designs are possible only by certain characters, which shouldn’t be a thing, kind of making this fact have the same purpose as a glitch

there is a visual glitch in the editor where if you have a pipe connected to ground and multi grab the ground, the quickly swipe it to the side of the screen the pipe will have extended a half block at the bottom. (This Only works in certain game themes and styles, the only ones i really know right now are SMW Ground Theme and NSMBU Ground Theme )
It also works in SM3DW

It’s glitches like being able to pick up items while in the dry bones shell that makes me question who’s coding this game. I have a bit of experience with coding and I know that it’s a bit of a task to say “while this, can’t be able to that” but shouldn’t it be as simple as: If Mario is in dry bones shell, Mario can’t hold items.

I think I know why the thwomp p switch death is delayed. The p switch slows the thwomp down but doesn't stop it there for it takes a little longer for the thwomp to kill Mario.

For SMM1 they just didn't care, sometimes the levels got removed, other times just left.

I'm thinking about something. Is it possible to use the fact that when you open the menu, you can change the character but it change it only when you go back to the level editor. Maybe we could make the game don't change the character. Like you're playing Mario but the menu says you're playing Luigi. It could make Mario having Luigi's voice and habilities. Or just the original Mario, when you're supposed to play Luigi. Anyway is this possible somehow ?
