I like the deck tech. Covers more about the deck, your process for deciding cards, even ones we may not like and can and probably should exchange, and makes the rest of the video better because we know what the idea is when you get certain cards together and the kinds of moves you can make. All in all, digging it my dude. :)
I love every time you play this deck! It's real fun to watch and then afterwards, there's an upswing in new people playing it who absolutely suck at it and I get to tear them apart for a weak! Thanks for the multilayered entertainment!
One of my favorite things about CGB is that he plays decks that just are so different than my own playstyle that without seeing stuff demonstrated, I often straight up do not understand why it's good. This is a very good demo of Emry. I certainly get why it's powerful now. But I for sure remember looking at this card and being like, "I don't get what the big deal is..."
Thanks for the list! I’ve been meaning to update my Emry deck I haven’t played in a long time, I copied your list card for card then made a few personal preference changes (like adding Chromatic Sphere as another way to combo off)
One card you’re definitely missing which goes in most blue decks I build and definitely all noncreature blue decks is Strix Serenade. It’s the new Wash Away and arguably better in many situations.
Why no Oracle of the Alpha? This gives you 5 more 0 cost artifacts, as well as card advantage and an extra turn... Seems everything this deck wants to do. laboratory works nice with this card too.
At 54:16 is there a reason not to generate extra mana before casting Whir to play around spell pierce? By looping Soul Guide lantern or Scrabbling Claw to exile the opponent's graveyard, you can press QQ with the Paradox Engine triggers on the stack to float all of your available mana sources (which is why it pauses to let you respond to your own Engine trigger)
i just started puttin together an irl Neerdiv list, im still mad green to magic in general but i have tcg experience so you already know i put a emry in the list. hype to check this video out to get some knowledge that i can apply to my deck.
As a longtime fan of Covert Go Red, I understand if you devalue my opinion. That said, I love the long deck techs since they always inspire me to tinker with my own decks. I agree that brawl is the best format on Arena. As cool as this deck is, I prefer Orvar (esp now that we have an instant that can target a land) maybe one day the wizards arena interns will goof up and make high tide playable in brawl.
See for me my go to deck is my Atraxa Superfriends deck. It’s a pillow fort style deck that allows me to just sit back most games and watch as my opponents have to choose between attacking and casting.
Crazy I played CGB with this deck while I was eating at Waffle House. I honestly thought I was cooked and didn’t think I had a chance . But playing Etali , anything possible lol Definitely a cool ass encounter I ever had playing brawl.
What’s with Arena being broken lately ? I have noticed quite a lot of bugs where triggers just are not activating… I would check all the cards and there is nothing in play that has been overlooked. Just as an example, I would have the rabbit in play that says whenever another creature you control enters play, gain a life and you cast a creature and you don’t get life. There were no effects to prevent life gain. I have had nearly a dozen such bugs over last two weeks.
There is nothing even close to it, the closest thing would be something like unwinding clock and its nowhere near. You might be able to do a combo that emulates it, Intruder Alarm + any of the cards that convert artifacts to creatures.
Oppressive? Maybe. Annoying to play against? Definitely. The worst part of Paradox engine is people take 20 minute turns (without a rope) and sometimes still don't win with it. If you're going to play it in paper, perhaps let people know so they can know what they are getting into or decide to also play something equally as annoying 😁
Can you not scrub through a video yourself? He's a content creator, if you don't like all of the content, that's fine, just kinda weird to demand he help you skip the content he put effort into making.
Listen CGB, you can't expect to wield MTG Arena power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you. I mean, if I went around saying I was the best there ever was just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d ban my account.
"the history of time?" as opposed to the history of space? baffling. this isn't the worst mana drain in all of history is probably better wording. nitpicker located
If you're gonna do 12 minute deck techs 5 minutes into the video you'd be doing a lot of viewers a big favor if your editor could add chapters so we could skip the deck techs if we want.
Been loving the intro and explanation of the plot. Helps me understand what to replace due to wildcards. Stinks people skipping it hurts you
Some ppl don't have an extra 15 minutes to hear cgb not playing emry, which is what I came to watch.
@@fivecolorscottyothers like myself would click off completely if he didn't go through the list.
@@mufasafalldown8401 but going through the list shouldnt take 24 minutes
Faster playback speed is an option

Whenever CGB plays Emry, could you say he is Loched in?
Get out
CGB making Legend’s intro’s look short. What a time to be alive!
I won't even lie I'm here the deck tech I might watch a few minutes of the game play but god I could listen to cgb deck tech for hours!
Shhhh, don't tell Yorion CGB said that!

Love the oldschool CGB intro!
I love brawl and I love these really deep dives into the deck. Super useful for a casual player.
I’m fully convinced Emry is the reason that WotC bumped historic brawl from 60-card to 100-card. When it was 60-card, Emry was soooo consistent.
This is so stupid. If emry was a problem he was going to be banned, you don't change whole format around a single card, your logic is ridiculous
Thanks for the list! I’ve been meaning to update my Emry deck I haven’t played in a long time, I copied your list card for card then made a few personal preference changes (like adding Chromatic Sphere as another way to combo off)

I am absolutely loving these brawl videos.
Why no Oracle of the Alpha? This gives you 5 more 0 cost artifacts, as well as card advantage and an extra turn... Seems everything this deck wants to do. laboratory works nice with this card too.
Adding 9 more cards decreases odds of the combo happening
I am no mono-color player, but this looks right down my alley and I will give it a try for sure.
I think CGB had Ozzolith on the brain when he was doing the deck tech.

I also adore your deck tech. Please keep doing them
i was eating dinner and listening you talking the deck teck, nice man
I really appreciated the long deck introduction.
i just started puttin together an irl Neerdiv list, im still mad green to magic in general but i have tcg experience so you already know i put a emry in the list. hype to check this video out to get some knowledge that i can apply to my deck.
Thank you for the deck tech CGB!
i love the long intros, they are like a potcast ❤
Thank you for the intro of cards

Mine is a Slimefoot, thallid transplant murder death ramp magic mushroom deck.

Watching this makes me miss all those Rusko Clockmaker/Paradox engine videos. Can we get a current day rusko video??? Pleaseee🙏🙏🙏

We love a full explainer at the begginning
I love Emry, I play her in paper commander and she is so strong even just playing jank budget stuff.
Can we get more laid back cgb playing decks he genuinely enjoys 🥰
I love the deck tech explanations
No Simulacrum Synthetiser ? Thought it was a must have blue artifact
Most of the artifacts are low cost.
Oh yh you’re right, would’t proc simulacrum that often
Why not braided net the Jitte?
Do u need more mesa falcons cgb?
Love the deck techs
3 games in 1h20, damn that matchup was a slow grind! Can't beat that Cannoneer though.
I usually end up with altar of dementia and metalwork colossus to infinitely mill them out
Any substitute for Paradox Engine in Commander?
There is nothing even close to it, the closest thing would be something like unwinding clock and its nowhere near. You might be able to do a combo that emulates it, Intruder Alarm + any of the cards that convert artifacts to creatures.
I may have missed this in the video, but wouldn't Thassa's Oracle be a better wincon than Aetherflux? Is it because its bad if she gets milled?
He wouldn't have a good way to get it if it got milled though
Needing extra turn spells not to rope out on the pop off turn is kinda funny
are the cards ''smoother''when you play from your hand? is that because of the resolution?
You know the video is going to be good when the explainer is 20 minutes, and the first game is another 20 minutes, taking over half the run time haha.
1:15 Hear me out… I know a better experience…
…Emry in Brawl
Love content and Brawl!
Would this be good and not too oppressive in commander even without paradox engine being legal?
Oppressive? Maybe. Annoying to play against? Definitely. The worst part of Paradox engine is people take 20 minute turns (without a rope) and sometimes still don't win with it. If you're going to play it in paper, perhaps let people know so they can know what they are getting into or decide to also play something equally as annoying 😁
I just started back playing arena and trying standard best of 1 and threw together a janky izzet deck and it's working wow
4x sleight of hand 4x snaremaster sprite, 4x three steps ahead 4x unsummon 4x burst lightning 4x failed fording 4x scalding viper 4x enduring curiosity 4x bonehoard dracosaur 7x island 8x mountain 4x eroded canyon 1x peculiar lighthouse 1x spirebluff cliff 1x temple of epiphany 2x evolving wilds
Dies to Rest in Peace
Thank you for the intro
Look, if I went round sayin I was an emperor because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!
Where is the Teferi brawl?
just parroting what @jerrysaurus said. loving the longer brawl videos
Emry is my edh commander. I love her so much.
What? Paradox engine is not banned?
I hope you will build a deck for the worst commander show with Emry as the commander
Remember when this card was an expensive prize?...
LOVED the deck tech, LOVED you, HATED the deck. XD I admire it though.
Simulacrum Synthesizer?
Cgb if youre gonna have a 23 and a half minute deck tech id like at least a timestamp to know when the games start
Can you not scrub through a video yourself? He's a content creator, if you don't like all of the content, that's fine, just kinda weird to demand he help you skip the content he put effort into making.
Loved it
Putting the B in CGB
Full deck tech is better
Longer video is better
Please make more of those
Listen CGB, you can't expect to wield MTG Arena power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you. I mean, if I went around saying I was the best there ever was just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d ban my account.
Nice!
I tried the deck and it was Rusko-Rusko-Teferi-Rusko-ravagan-Rusko, just painful
brawl is smth awesome)))
This is a deck I love to play but hate to go against but I play grenzo bc I love heist so can I really complain lo l
I should take a stab at this deck again. Now I that I crafted Paradox Engine it actually has a wincon lol
CGB ask arena to give us ranked brawl
basically playing yugioh over here...
Emry is such a fun commander, even tho I found my new favorite blue commander with Geralf, the Fleshwright (imagine cgb playing him in brawl).
algorithm
"the history of time?" as opposed to the history of space? baffling. this isn't the worst mana drain in all of history is probably better wording. nitpicker located
Why are Arena brawl players so SWEATY though...isn't this a casual format??
Dang the intro was 23 min long (skip)
23 minutes just to watch the first game????
If you're gonna do 12 minute deck techs 5 minutes into the video you'd be doing a lot of viewers a big favor if your editor could add chapters so we could skip the deck techs if we want.
