- I created an NPC Wars where Grunts starts a rebellion against the Banished in Halo Infinite.
The Unggoy Rebellion, also known as the Grunt Rebellion was a large-scale revolt by the Unggoy against the Covenant Empire in 2462. It was started by the Infusion Incident, when the growing Unggoy population put pressure on the Kig-Yar, with whom they shared their habitats. The overwhelming Unggoy population forced many of the Kig-Yar to relocate, killing many of their eggs and forcing the Kig-Yar birth rate to decline. In an effort to exact revenge, some of the Kig-Yar poisoned the Unggoy infusion resources, recreational narcotics used in the Unggoy's portable methane supplies. This made the contaminated males sterile, escalating the conflict between the two species.

Considering the grunts or unngoy are substantially smarter than other species despite their short life they could easily be a formidable fighting force if they were actually trained and not treated as fodder

They actually proved that when they rebelled on high charity even the elites had a hard time fighting them they had to glass their homeworld to get them to finally surrender
Been thinking the same thing. If grunts had more battle training nothing and no one could stop them. Imagine platoons of grunts with the front line wearing energy shields using needlers/plasma pistols, followed by grunts throwing plasma grenades, with fuel rod grunts in the rear, plus grunts on ghosts. Would be a bad day for the covenant.

It’s one thing to be outnumbered by 3:1 with the brutes it’s another to be outnumbered 100:1 with the grunts.

Everyone argues over whether or not the humans were the forerunners or of they were the new species introduced in Halo 4. But honestly an equally epic twist would have been the Grunts being the forerunners. It would be so tragic, that the grunts sacrificed themselves to stop the flood from destroying life, only to then end up enslaved by the covenant. They are the weakest to the flood and physically the weakest species, so it would make sense for them to rely so much on technology, plus it's easy to see from gameplay how quick grunts are to sacrifice themselves to save each other, even more so than humanity. This was the massive amount of AI I was hoping for in the game. Instead, we got like 20% of this.
It's because the AI very clearly don't have a squad system of any kind past maybe sharing information, so unlike the older games they don't work together and it looks like shit with a lot of them at once. If you put this many AI in Halo 1 even they all act way more competent as a team than this. Respecting lines of fire, pushing and retreating as a unit and trying their best to focus down targets when it's advantageous. Plus grenade throws are coordinated. I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun for the player, but the presentation would kill it on the cutting room floor.

The Grunt Majors/Imperials were insane! A few times they would be by themselves, and kill a brute or two before going down... Then you got the Grunt Minors who kept dying to their own grenades... ; - ;
Dude Halo Infinite should have had like, cages of enslaved grunts that you could free and eventually amass an army of rebellious grunts on your team. This video is the funniest shit ive seen in this game
We need a halo game where you play as a elite either covenant/banish, and see their own perspectives of the war especially being part of the Grunt rebellions

The NPCs in Infinite always surprise me. The grunts (in numbers) have a god tier turtle strategy, can disable vehicles AND throw grenades?! OP PLS NERF
Charged Up Plasma Pistols always disabled vehicles except in Halo Combat Evolved.

Wait how did you get those upgraded brutes to spawn with the Mangler instead of the Commando they're supposed to have?
I don't remember how exactly at the moment but that area probably just had that brute/weapon combination loaded and I just selected it and spawned it
@@NPCLabs there is a spot where a single upgraded brute spawns with a Mangler but I've only seen it at the Horn of Abolition
But since he spawns with a Mangler he'll actually pick up other weapons laying around if he so chooses
The second grunt rebellion. They already tried that once and actually kinda fucked a bit, though they were doomed to fail.
To be fair, the first Unggoy rebellion wasn’t a total failure. They ended up earning the Sangheili’s respect, and they were allowed to carry weapons on the battlefield.
