Why don''t you put the anchor upstairs through a hole in the floor, and then down through the original hole in the deck, so when your up top and spot an Island or somewhere you want to stop at in a hurry you don't need to race down below to drop the anchor in hopes of not hitting the island, and you can always put ropes around the original hole in the deck that now just has a rope running up and down it.
They actually can go through textures and still eat your garden. I tryed buildig fully closed room and yet they still diving inside trough the solid roof or sides. Same goes for shark - it can go trough your raft parts and trought islands, just like Reapers in Subnautica.
I think you go a little ott sometimes lol did you really need 6 chests? the food no doubt can stack to 20 and with such a larger number of space in each chest do you think you will ever fill each one with the different meals? I doubt it. And really you only needed 1 maybe 2 if you feel insecure of the scarecrows. what you have done is placed them and they will all decay at the same time and then you have none, should keep a stock of them.
