I think the reason why people thinks Froch is an hater is the consistency of AJ criticism plus the level of details he's willing to go into to make us realise AJ has achieved nothing in boxing.
Froch will briefly criticise other fighters but level of depth Carl is willing to go in when it comes to AJ always comes across like he's bitter. Like deadly bitter.
Legacy or no legacy - it'll take some time for UK for a find our next boxing star that'll capture the imagination of youths, casuals , women and grandmother.
That's what AJ has done for British boxing.

I think your comment is perfectly fair. I have a feeling that extra level that Carl goes into when discussing AJ (as you pointed out) is mostly due to his (Carl’s) loyalty to Rob McCracken. Ever since AJ separated from Rob it seems Carl has had an extra gear when discussing AJ.

There is too much to unpack here, but honestly, It is cringe listening to the amount of assumptions, false narratives and gynastics comparing legacies. Froch assuming what AJ has gone through in life, why bother making a point when you have no idea.
Saying AJ has overacheived, how exactly? He's the only one who went belt collecting and won and the only one missing was the wbc and the pbc held it hostage.
Jordan saying AJ is a two time and froch is 4? What is he on about? He's counting frochs belts he's had in his career? In that case AJ got 3 of the belts separately, lost them then regained them.
Froch bringing up the wlad win and he was out for 18months or whatever it is, yes and during that time Wlad had two training camps because Fury pulled out twice.
They talk of Parker and Froch says "yes but was he a all time great"??? Lol who is a all time great on Frochs resume?
Then they bring Wilder... honestly have any of these two ever looked at Wilder's resume? If they did they wouldn't be talking.
Froch brings up his close loss to dirrell, yes i watched it and everyone knows you lost that fight and it was a blatent gift decision to the home fighter, it wasnt even close.
Now having said all that, i like frochs career, but stop all the nonsense talk.

Carl Froch brings his super- middleweight mentality to the Heavyweight division.
Had he been a heavyweight he’d have found himself in a wheelchair ♿️ 100%
easy to have granite chin as a middleweight. Not so easy as a heavyweight, just ask Joe Joyce.

Wise words from Carl - one of the great British fighters. AJ should beat Dubois on Saturday, which I guess in the scheme of things won't do much for his boxing legacy; it'll just put a win in the win column of his record. Carl's looking and sounding sharp, which is good to see; a good short, punchy interview.

Just one last thing you know Carl , you keep on about Ruiz beating AJ yes AJ got beat by the late replacement Ruiz , by the way if that had of happened to Fury there would have been no fight that day !!
But let's not forget boys AJ came back and boxed the head off Ruiz , completely shut him out , like you Carl should have done to Kessler second time around, REMEMBER CALZAGHE beat him in his POMP Carl !!
What would Calzaghe have done with you ?? Oh dear 😳 😱

I don't understand AJ fans. I like him as a person, but he lost his way in the ring. I give him credit for the Klitschko fight, but he lost the desire he had back then. No idea what the health issue was before the first Andy Ruiz fight, but he's never seemed the same since then. I get strong Audley Harrison vibes from him now, still talks a good fight, but can't produce it in the ring. I hope he proves me wrong, but that's the way I see it.

Watching these two clowns whinge about AJ, again is sooo old. Carl Froch is so over rated....His assesment of AJ's career is just off base. AJ holds winds over a young hungry J Parker & D Whyte, two boxers years later other boxers are claiming as great victories to achieve. He finished off a highly competitive Povetkin, an effective Pulev. Froch's comments about Charles Martin are so hollow, he had the tittle, who else was AJ supposed to fight? Say what you want, Martin has had some good matches, but AJ was given food, and ate it in 2 rounds...isn't that enough? He lost to Ruiz, then beat him solidly, ask yourself, if Ruiz was an easy opponent why didn't anybody else of note fight him for a noteworthy victory. I am not an AJ super fan, but give him credit...he offered Wilder 120 million & Tyson a huge Saudi deal, they both declined....

AJ left Rob Mccracken (Froch's trainer) as Mccrackens advice "relax, relax" was not only useless but damaging.
Anyway this is why Froch is sour because AJ wasn't "loyal" to Mccracken. Plus Froch is just a jealous boy.

  • @NazSBG

AJ is not remotely close to being talked of as a great heavyweight. AJ has believed the hype that was directed his way. He beat a past peak Klitchko who was on his way out of the sport. Ruiz found AJ out.
Fury with a belly would beat AJ. Wilder would smash AJ.
AJ is a body builder trying to be a boxer!

  • @bigsamkay

Froch mentions beating Kessler after he initially lost to hin as part of his legacy. But continuously slatess AJ for losing to Ruiz despite him being a later replacement that he didnt prepare for and also AJ beat Ruiz in the rematch. Same situation good for Frochs legacy but awful for AJ.
Its getting a bit foolish now..

Joshua by far will leave a better Legacy. He is the only reason boxing got to be here to the level it is today. Fury and Wilder had been pros for a long time prior to AJs arrival, what did they do for the sport?
