    I'm growing sweet passion cantelope and kajari for the first time on my new cattle panel trellis.
    QUESTIONS:
    > How long is the delay between the emergence of male and female flowers ? So far, ive only seen males.
    > How many fruits should I let set for each plant ? I think I read 2-4 for cantelope, but I suspect the kajari may be indeterminate and can handle more than that.

    Hey Tee : We doing this but failed to pick the correct variety for trellis growing , LOL I'm shamed to say it's a Jubilee and it didn't fit in the stocking 🥲 it's our first year also when you cleaning up the plant how do you know what to cut? #blessings

    • @mattsecret
      @mattsecret 7 месяцев назад +1

      I cut all the lower leaves and leave at least 5 at the top to allow for photosynthesis. You cut the first 5 runners out of the nodes and then let runners go for until the plant is tall enough and them cut the top off the main vine. Limit the amount of side nodes to 3-5 nodes then cut the main side vine and let the cucumbers grow. Hope that made sense...the main thing if you're new is remove all the lower fan leaves on the main vine and leave about 5 at the top. They just take up energy from the plant and get mildew rust

    • @NubianP6
      @NubianP6 Месяц назад

    • @BeauteeInTheGarden

      If you have a lot of leaves or if you just wanna do a one stem method, start pruning out some of your leaves. It will help with airflow and you do not have to worry about getting powder mildew on your crop quickly
