You missed the second half of his dance animation. After a few seconds he starts going all out and it super cute.
Gotta commend riot for making a champ with 10 abilities that is actually easy to understand
if only the playerbase wasn't a bunch of smoothbrain idiots that squirm at the concept of 10 abilities and only love to complain
That, or maybe after Aphelios we kind of got used.
It really just depends on your own personal intelligence whether if it takes you years or just a few minutes to understand it

This champion described Simply:
Champion Gimmick:
Hwei has 3 styles for his abilities: Damage(Q), Utility(W), and CC(E). First press selects a style, second press selects an ability.
> If you don't want to use your selected style, your R will remove the selected style.
> Cooldown is used when you confirm an ability, not when you select a style.
Passive: Enemies hit with abilities are marked. Marked enemies create an explosion when hit with another ability.
QQ: Fire ball that does flat and % max hp damage
QW: Lighting strike that deals additional damage to solo or immobilized targets
QE: Line of AoE damage that slows
WQ: Line of increased movement speed
WW: Circle that gives immediate shield and more shield over time
WE: Next 3 attacks deal additional damage and restore mana
EQ: Fireball that fears
EW: Vision granting delayed root
EE: AoE that pulls enemies to the center
R: Fire ball that marks an enemy with a ramping, AoE slow that deals damage based on the amount slowed.
What i love about the kit is that it has 10 abilities and yet it looks very intuitive: Q is skillshot damage and EQ is a skillshot CC, all 3 anything + W abilities are circles but they do what the Theme is meant to do, passive and R have the same style cause they do kind of the same and the color palette gives a clear indication of the main purpose of the ability (orange and gold+black is damage, blue helps team and purple is CC)
They're small details but honestly props to Riot for thinking about them. Looks like they learned the right lesson from Aphelios.
I'll do a shorter one. Less detailed, of course.
Passive : Hit 2 unique spell for extra damage.
Damage (Q) : Fireball Skillshot/Thunder Skillshot/Floor is Lava
Utility (W) : Move Speed Up/Generate Shield/AA booster.
Control (E) : Skillshot Fear/Ward & Root/Area Vacuum.
Ult (R) : Fizz Ult.
He's far easier to understand, and play compared to Aphelios and his "memorize A + B until E and remember to check ammo count" gameplay.

While also regaining ability to speak
His VFX are way better than Elementalist Lux and most legendary skins. Imagine the possibilities they could do if he gets an Ultimate skin
He will never get ultimate skin with this much abelites lol i doubt that he will get more than 1 skin in the next 2 years.

Hwei is basically a combination of Invoker’s skills and Grimstroke’s design and effects.

I was not expecting his abilities to look like real works of art but holy shit they do, and I really dig the gameplay too. He's all I'm gonna play in mid when he goes live

I would've loved if the EW and R animations were more paint-ish cause they kinda look like a generic magic explosion besides the projectiles.
But, outside of that, i think Riot did pretty well at capturing the idea of a tormented artist, from his voicelines to his kit and animations. The paint sounds and the color palette are really good and QE and WQ look particularly great. And his recall could easily be from a legendary skin.
I kinda like this champ, for the gameplay, vfx, sounds, lore, and no dash.
He maybe have 10 spells but that doesn't feel hard to understand and have a good clarity?
We'll see, hope it'll be played mid and not only supp

A doozy one shot combo could probably translated to be
Ult + EW + QE
Where, while the ult flies, you place the (EW)snare on/or the target you wanna burst down so when the ult arrives it snares, and QE for AoE Burning and Slow so it's harder for them to get away, if Hwei has Liandry's and Rylai/Burning items it could be an awesome combo. I think out of his Q combinations, QE is the one that piques me the most cuz it's like a rumble ult on a basic ability, tho you can't just throw it from A to B like rumble can, if it's in the middle of a teamfight it could be his best teamfighting Q ability, with QQ being the harass, QW being the chase ability/artillery poke

I have an idea that would be very good for the channel, which would be that in the Ability Review video, before showing SplahArt, they could put the sound and video of Picking the character because when you pick, it makes a sound and I would really like them to apply it this in the videos, thank you! The sounds effects on his abilities are top tear, good job riot

He's definitely gonna have a Street Demons and an Inkshadow skin

I'm kinda of against this ideia that a champion shouldn't be inside a skinline just because his thematic clashes with the skin
The best skins for me are the ones that change the champion the most, if the champion is dark and somber I want a happy skin for him and vice-versa

His abilities already give Street Demon vibes so it would be quite hard. I agree he'd be great with Inkshadows though and Shan Hai Scrolls, and maybe Empyrean or Spirit Blossom.
@@Loliston Space Groove Hwei has potential. Though there's a lot of roundness and plasticity in his animations so skinlines with stiffness and sharp edges like PROJECT won't really suit him.
I love this champion already, can't wait for his release

I do think Hwei will be the next Lux / Karma, made to be mid but way too good to not play Support.
His W basically is either Karma R + Shield / Old Galio Q or Nami E
His E feels very Shaco meets Sett. He is def a shotcaller and the first to land CC
Funnily enough I do think hed make a good Support for Jhin, I dont know if that is intentional but his CC + Utility appear very well tailored to assist Jhin with hitting Es and Ws

I'm surprised this isn't 10mins long like the Apheleos ability spotlight.
The only way to balance this champion is to make all his abilities do little damage. Similarly to the shape-shifter class. Having 10 abilities is already a plus, you can't have dmg as well
All abilities from a skill category share the same cooldown
