Sean says it right in the video. He was traveling faster than traffic expected/he should have been. When you put yourself in places cars don't expect to see other cars, they react in ways you wouldn't expect. Add on our smaller cross section and it's even harder for the other driver to judge distance.

I was looking at your mirrors in this video, they do seem to give great rear & side viability. So I was wondering where the camera was.
I do like these Gold Wing Trikes if they are well designed. The touring space they provide is superb & they cruise so well even in traffic they don't wear you down.
When I was riding more I got a Scuberth C2 (partly because I wear glasses) but also for the good noise isolation). I'm sure the newer C3 & C4 are god like that.

I'm not nearly old enough to "need" a trike kit, but I'd certainly like to own one. I think they are hands down some of the coolest bike on the road.
We have the Roadsmith Trike kit on our 2012 Honda Goldwing 1800 CC. It's absolutely the best and smoothest rides ever!!!! Definitely top of the line and definitely what we will buy in the future as well. 😉🤘😎😎🤘

I have the same: A 2012 Gold Wing and a Roadsmith trike kit. I love it. I can’t hold up a motorcycle now. The last time I rode a stock Gold Wing, it felt as if I was holding up a truck on two wheels. I nearly dropped it.

Interesting you would mention the hearing loss thing. I actually wear earplugs when I ride BECAUSE of the wind. I have a 09 Rocker-C with V&H Big Radius and the wind with my cannon ball helmet bothers my ears more than the exhaust. I keep telling the wife, 3 more years I'll be getting a Gold wing as a second bike, lol.

Yes, I lost 5% of my hearing when I rode across Canada one time without ear plugs. When I got back my audiologist forced me to buy custom moulded earplugs ($100) which were the best things ever added to my Wing. Surprisingly they allow me to hear music through the headphones much more clearly than before because they block all the "white noise" in the environment.
Bottom line, if you ride a motorcycle without earplugs inside your helmet, you WILL damage your hearing. Take it from someone who knows after 65 years of long distance riding....
The new Sport trikes like CanAm and other modern wheels forward trikes will out ride out corner the back wheel trikes along with most cruisers. Also a back wheel trike will fight you in the corners where a CanAm style will handle like a regular vehicle. I will say the fit and finish of all trikes is very good and the companies do a great job. There is no such thing as a rake kit as the rake can only be changed by cutting the frame. Offset triple trees will offer a trail change. I agree the worst are those three in the rear kits as the lean the wrong way going around corners.

Just finally saved up and bought my first, a 1994 GL1500 with a MotorTrike kit , got it from an old guy who just didn’t use it anymore, $5,000. Can’t wait to take it out next weekend. Might start doing trike motovlogs 🤔😂

I did enjoy it . It had 100k miles at time of purchase. I ended up trading it in on a new Spyder a few weeks ago.

My 2012 goldwing California side car trike has one issue not covered in video. The ride is terrible, 3 wheels are very hard to avoid potholes, no adjustment in shocks help that issue. You feel any and all bumps on the road

Have this and a spyder. If you want the best handling and fun go with canam. If you want to see 200,000 plus almost trouble free miles get the goldwing. I have several bikes and they all put a huge smile on my face😁
The Honda gold wing is pure perfection, you will not buy a better motorcycle, my niebor owns one and let me take it for a ride, now I won't even look at a Harley because I want a gold wing.

Clark Babin no lean on trikes. Theres a company that has created a reverse trike that leans. I dont like the look though. Type in jay leno leaning trike and u will see it.

I'm working on a'87 gold wing trike. Lehman trike kit. I get a back and forth shake in front end mainly on turns. I also need the seals for the differential. Any help would be appreciated.

The airbag is optional on all Gold Wings. You must buy the top-level model to get the airbag.
Safety true: the odds of you falling off a trike are extremely slim. With the wind screen you probably won’t get stone strikes or bugs in the face either, but I haven’t tried one.

Nate Warman So u think a trike with the two wheels up front are safer than two wheels in the back? I am very interested in getting a Trike for safety reasons and ease of drive.
@@a.d.c7941 We bought our trike last year. We absolutely love it. I will never do a two wheel bike or the 3 wheel spider etc. 2 wheel with my chronic pain is a no go. To me it seems like the Spyder would fishtail really easy. 😉

Honda does not make a trike. Every Gold Wing trike on the road is a conversion.
A jacket and gloves saved my skin from some road rash.would of been alot worse with out them.

Riding a Trike and you get hit by a car or go off the road and get launched you will wish you had safety gear. I am a Winger and I have witnessed two trike wrecks and the safety gear has made the difference in both. You are assuming a level of safety just because of being a trike, you are wrong, I hope you are not dead wrong!

False security, if you hit that car you will wish you had all the gear. My last trip in the fall my friend wrecked his Trike and he stated he was glad they were wearing the gear. Road rash does not care what you are riding when you hit the asphalt!

the way it rides...but a high quality trike kit WITH an orginal drive wheel still on does not compromise the frame integrity. but you need to ride like two brain cells still work!

Your 3 Wheeler does not have a seat belt harness or other safety features of a car. It is a motorcycle. Drive it like one and wear appropriate safety gear.

One thing I learned long ago is to Listen carefully and beware of the hidden agendas. This guy either has one or he is ignorant. I believe he has an agenda. I bought the 2002 GL1800 ABS yesterday with the Voyager trike kit leaving the back wheel on and after practicing in all conditions including steep hilly roads, back roads, and interstate highways. It was hot and sunny and turned to light rain, then heavier, and then torrential downpour! After getting past the fear of the handling and learning how to handle it I had NO PROBLEM with it including going at 2x the speed on curvy rds and 110 on the highway. The noise you heard was NOT the windshield but he was driving in the wrong gear. Higher gear at a slower speed makes the noise and the windshield was stock. I have been riding since 1961 and have over 1 million miles under my belt. Most people will need to do a lot of practicing and strengthen their arms. Never put your feet down! I could say more but I think most people will get it and those who don't, as a first responder I might be picking them up! Good luck and be careful!
