Are you going to put up some bird feeders outside the windows so you can watch birds while you have dialysis?
I hadn’t even thought of that but that is a GREAT idea - we already have a tree right outside the window that often has bird (the cats LOVE watching lol)
@@CindyGuentertBaldo I’ve heard from some family that those acrylic feeders that suction to the window work really well. It takes the birds a few weeks to find it but depending upon how your second story windows/ screens open it might be fun!
And you’ll probably get to watch squirrels in the bird feeders too. 😉
Thanks for posting this, Cindy. I work as an analytical chemist in an academic lab researching blood clotting and it’s fascinating to see this stuff “in real life”.
Brings back so many memories. I actually cherish the time we had together while he was on the machine since I had to be close by marking numbers, checking alarms and of course before I and after stuff. Never thought I’d miss those times.
Jess and I were reflecting on how much more time we’ve spent together since starting this!!
Cindy I can’t believe how much better you look. Your room is amazing what a gorgeous view.
I’m so glad you have the space, and a beautiful space, to do your dialysis at home. You look healthier and you don’t sound as tired. I know you might be, but it sounds like it is working. I would love to see how you are balancing work with this. I’m struggling to balance work at home and chronic illness so I love to see how you balance things to get ideas. Thank you for sharing this today.
Having a nice place for medical equipment makes it so much easier to cope mentally. I had no place to hide my feeding tube pump back in the day and it just bummed me out every time I had to look at it. Hope everything is going as smoothly as possible for you.
How perfect is your home for your special medical needs? Back in the 80-90’s when I worked for our amazing transplant surgeons, home hemodialysis wasn’t available. Due to my own minor medical changes I haven’t been watching planning videos lately. My heart is happy to see how things have progressed over the years and made this system available to you. Being able to easily add a waterline to this space boggles my mind. I am grateful for all your blessings and still praying that a donor can be found soon. ❤
I am SO GLAD home hemo is available. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad you were able to set up a really nice space for yourself.
Me too - there was a day recently where the kids and Odin were hanging out with me during treatment and it was so nice
So glad you made this as beautiful as you could. ❤ So interesting how everyone is different. My husband had high potassium and it was a B keeping him away from it in his diet. Again I AM SOOO HAPPY to see you being able to make it as comfortable and peaceful as possible. I know how important that is. Continuing to send love and support for the continued journey
I was so prepared for high potassium - I’m a Ho for potatoes and was dreading it so I’m grateful 😇
@@CindyGuentertBaldo Ha yes! Potatoes are very important lol.
That room was made for this but I want to hang out long enough to see you get a transplant. (And longer) ❤️👍 so impressed !
Right??
I love how you have this set up. Very cozy and relaxing! While a slightly different situation, I would have loved to have such a cozy and organized setup for when I was caring for my grandparents at home.
this is amazing! i was in the hospital b/c of my chronic illness for a while and it's felt weird to have to bring medical stuff into my home but you've made it so homey, lots of inspiration for storing my new supplies
I happen to be in Stage 3 kidney disease, and also a retired RN. I had no idea that hemodialysis could now be done at home. I was dreading the idea of having to spend hours driving and sitting at dialysis multiple days per week. I sure hope that if/when I have to have dialysis I have this option! Thanks for all the info!
There’s some in-window bird feeders that are so cool! Highly recommend it.
Such a cozy room! I'm happy that you have such a beautiful and comfortable room for dialysis. You are an amazing person!
Awww thank you!
Super cool that you’re blessed to first of all do dialysis at home and second to have a comfy, private space to do it in. Not to mention with a beautiful view 😊
You’re looking great. So happy for you that you have the care and support you need. I hope it is life-changing for you! 🥰
Thank you!!
Thank you. We are in the planning stage and this really helps.
It looks so peaceful. Your organizational skills are beyond. I was getting hives looking at the supplies. Mine would be everywhere. Keeping you in my prayers!
The light and the plants make it look like a spa.
I have to say.... you looked great before, for sure, but since dialysis but you look so much happier, fresher, younger, and brighter. I know it must be a really hard thing to do every day, but I hope it's helping you feel better. Your nook is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this. It is very educational. So so much has to go into your routine. I do love your cozy space. I know it makes a huge difference in your treatment and everyday life to have a dedicated space. Lots of love and peace to you!!!
Technology and its progression… just WOW! As much as it is difficult to watch knowing you are having to go through this journey, it’s beautiful to see the comfort that surrounds you. My father was on dialysis, I never first hand witnessed the care but knew he was Superman going through it. Thank you for sharing a little about what it’s like, it brings awareness. Keeping you and the family in my prayers for expedited healing. You Rock!!!
This house seems perfect for you guys in that regard!
Thanks for sharing. I've been wondering why you chose hemo over PD dialysis, and I appreciate your explanation and sharing. My husband was on PD dialysis 18 years ago for 18 months before his transplant came through. We are getting ready to get back on dialysis and have decided PD is still our better option. I really appreciated seeing and hearing about your setup and your process. It was so informative and I really appreciate it. I'll be praying dialysis continues to go well for you and your transplant comes quickly. Take care.
My first nursing job was a dialysis nurse in a clinic. I always wondered how home dialysis worked. This was so interesting to watch. This is amazing, it gives the power back to you. 🤞you can get a transplant soon!
I love that you have such a cozy space, since it's so much of your day. I love all the sunshine you are able to get!
Wow you look so much healthier and happier in this. I'd even say glowing. This home dialysis set up is awesome and you guys have done a great job organizing it all and having it look comfy. Bird feeders would be an awesome idea.
Shocking! I can’t believe how much goes into home dialysis! Wow! Very impressed how well this has come together. Amazing tenacity!
Fascinating. I’m happy that you have such a cozy nest for your dialysis. ❤️🇨🇦
live a long life cindy!!
What a wonderful and perfect space. You guys are great at planning and streamlining your spaces. It is like this space was completely meant to be for you. I would gladly be in there for hours. I admire many qualities about you, Jesse, and your relationship. Thinking of you daily to send happy and healthy wishes your way. Hoping your transplant happens for you very soon. Thank you for so honestly sharing your talents and life with us.❤
Your home dialysis are is soooo homey!! I am sooo happy you and Jess are able to do this at home and having a separation and not having it take over your life is definitely an adjustment and you both are working so hard to make a part of your home life but not your whole life!! I keep you and your family in my thoughts every day. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us! The knowledge you have provided on PKD I use! You are my inspiration Cindy! Thank you ❤
This video was so informative and extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing your dialysis journey with us!
Vlog idea! I’d love to see some of one of your walks with Jesse and the pupper! I’m so happy y’all are settling in to this so well.
So overwhelmed. I trust I will get there…
I’m thinking about doing home dialysis love the room
So interesting, Cindy! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! This all seems so overwhelming to me. I’m so glad you get to do this at home though. The cute lamp on Jesse’s desk is exactly like one my daughter bought for my husband to keep by his side of the bed. She calls it “the old people lamp” because it’s a touch lamp and Amazon says it’s for the elderly. 😂😂Hugs! Your nails look great. Love the color.
Hi Cindy! It’s great that Jessie can help you so much with dialysis. Would home hemodialysis still be possible if you were having to do everything by yourself? Thank you so much for sharing what your experience with this is like; I really appreciate it.
Your home always looks so cozy and bright! Thanks for the tour, you’ve really set the room up so lovely.
Any news about transplant? Your room looks cozy I love all the windows
Did you consider getting one of those arm type things on the wall for the tv in the bedroom then pull it around into the dialysis room so you don’t have to get an entirely new tv?
You look great and I am so happy for you that you have this space and help at home dealing with this disease. Sending you all the good vibes.
Did you think you’d be using that space for dialysis when you bought the house? It looks perfect. Anyone else remember watching The Torkelson’s? The bench seating in front of the window reminds me of the daughters bedroom. I always wanted one like her haha
You are doing such a great job with this. And you look great. My daughter had cancer and during treatment it astounded me the things that we picked up out of pocket. But I was so grateful to have good health insurance.
You look amazing in this video! So much energy!
Holy moly! Rewatching this and seeing how much there is to remember and know is wild, it seems like you’ve got a great setup and partner 😊 You’re incredible Cindy, I don’t know why i’m feeling so nostalgic watching this but it just makes me giggle that i followed you because I liked that you swear and you weren’t afraid to be messy in your bullet journal, and now you’re here. I think that speaks a lot to you and your community, of course we’d support you in everything you’ll go through ❤ hope to help out for the next list and resub to patreon soon, love from me and my family 🥰
your hair looks so good like that! and i love the sweater & lip combo! going crazy today Cindy!!
LOL on the Conkie that's my nickname given to me by a lil girl with downs who couldn't say Connie, I've worn that nickname with pride since the 8th grade and i'm now 56 years old. I seen Laura the lil girl in 97 she had turned into a beautiful lil lady and I said Laura U know who I am and she looked at me and said Conkie needless to say after all those years I bursted into tears and hugged her tight.
Thanks for sharing. Looks like a comfy spot.
So cozy!
This is such a beautiful room to spend so much time in. You’ve done a wonderful job.❤
Appreciate you sharing this with us ❤ and I’m impressed with how organized you are and how you and Jesse are working together to make this so functional, I’m not surprised, you two are amazing humans! I hope it keeps going well and that it’s helping. All my love to you!
Not that any of this is easy or good, but damn girl you sound and look so well right now!! Love the space and how you set it up. 💛
Love that you’re sharing this with us - thank you!
"No one likes a cold sak" 🤣💛 Thank you for sharing this, Cindy, it's really interesting to see your setup and it looks beautiful!
Thanks for sharing. I have my treatment set up in my master bedroom as well, with the large boxes in a guest bedroom, and ancillary supplies in bins and dresser drawers. Haven’t received supplies to do blood draws yet. My install is Tuesday, and my first home treatment is Wednesday. I am doing Solo HHD. I live alone, and do not have a caregiver.
What do you use to film your videos? I want to start filming my experiences as well.
That is an insane amount of supplies!
Thank you for sharing! Other than from watching you, I have very limited knowledge about kidney diseases and this is a real educational opportunity! I wish you all the best in your continued search for a donor ❤️
Im thinking switching to HHD
You guys f'ing rock. As someone who can barely handle a home colorectal poop test, your setup is so organized yet cozy. How often do you have to do the dialysis and how long do the sessions last?
Thank you for sharing with us! I was wondering- how do you handle medical waste? I struggle with sharps and I have 1/1000th the waste you have!
You have a beautiful home! Are you pleased with your decision to do home dialysis?
The Sak jokes I can’t 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow. That's a lot. You are amazing. 😮😊👍🏻
12:11 - Aunt Flow?
😒I'll see myself out😂
Uncle flow??
Storing the shit is real af! I help my brother perform dialysis on my mom and the supplies require a room almost haha! Thanks for sharing this! Give me ideas.
Add a stool to your new Amazon wishlist. You should BOTH have stools. :)
I think maybe my comment got deleted because I used a term often applied to titles like Huckleberry Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Night Kitchen, and others. I did not mean to stir up anything, but just in case it's gone for good, I'll keep this brief. To avoid spending, yet taking advantage of FREE entertainment and educational resources that need only one hand: ebooks and e-audiobooks from the public library.
❤️
Wow, you can see why it takes weeks of training
Thanks for joke! Lightening up a serious matter! Glad you are staying the same person!
Hahaha I actually feel like some of my humor is coming back now that I feel less miserable!!
You are such aninspiration!
Can you go on holidays or short trips while needed dialysis? Is there an option to do it remotely and with a portable machine?
